Trouble with hitting Karma's Q (As support)

I'm really bad with hitting Karma Q for some reason when I play support... like. It always end up not reaching the target or it hits the minions instead. I find it rather difficult to successfully harass using Karma's Q as support. Especially when enemy is behind minions. I simply fail to put pressure as Karma during the lane. (Tho I'm pretty good with playing her defensively...but I'd like to perform better than I currently do.) :( Any good tips from a pro Karma player? Thx
