The Hotfix Nerf for Dark Harvest Abuse on Arams is a heavy handed aproach

Some of you might have noticed already others not but Riot has hotfix nerfed again the new Dark Harvest especially for Aram to counter the heavy influence this keystone had on this game mode ever since its rework as part of pre-season changes. http://www.surrenderat20.net/ or https://twitter.com/mortdog/status/1067219150051799040?s=21 for information. So basically the state of the rune for Aram is now > Damaging a champion below 50% of their maximum health by any mean deals 40 − 80 (based on level) (+ 2 per Soul) (+ 25% bonus AD) (+ 15% AP) bonus Attack damageAbility power Adaptive damage and reaps 1 Soul. This cannot happen again for 45 seconds, resetting to 1.5 seconds on champion Damage rating takedown. Personally i think gutting the damage of something is always a very simple minded aproach that happens when there is not a lot of time to get a better solution. It is also mentioned in the twitter post that this is more likely a band-aid fix and will be revisited at a point further ahead. So here comes the part where i present my aproach in nerfing the rune for Aram and would be glad to see if you also have ideas so maybe (big maybe) someone at Riot gets inspired for future balancing this keystone by this thread :) **Option 1** > Damaging a champion below 50% of their maximum health by any mean deals 40 − 80 (based on level) (+ 5 per Soul) (+ 25% bonus AD) (+ 15% AP) bonus Attack damageAbility power Adaptive damage and reaps 1 Soul. This cannot happen again for 45 seconds, ~~resetting to 1.5 seconds on champion Damage rating takedown.~~ insert any resetting time that does not go below 10 seconds Because : One of the problematic things about DH is the never ending amount of team fights in Aram. Solo Kills without assists or other participation of your team are a rarity. Basically it is like this Rune is working in a way similar to current Katarina. She gets one reset and whoops you are all dead! (obvious exaggeration) Up this to five enemy champions that will shot a never ending amount of DH procs at you once you are below 50% health and ONE team mate dies and there is almost not a single space for breathing. **Option 2** > Damaging a champion below ~~50%~~ 25% of their maximum health by any mean deals 40 − 80 (based on level) (+ 5 per Soul) (+ 25% bonus AD) (+ 15% AP) bonus Attack damageAbility power Adaptive damage and reaps 1 Soul. This cannot happen again for 45 seconds, resetting to 1.5 seconds on champion Damage rating takedown. At least make it a real execute. Many Times the non-poke teams are quite low on health and at least with 25% it is a treshold that is reached not as soon, making it more difficult for the enemies to proc dark harvest. **Option 3** > Damaging a champion below 50% of their maximum health by any mean deals 40 − 80 (based on level) (+ 5 per Soul) (+ 25% bonus AD) (+ 15% AP) bonus Attack damageAbility power Adaptive damage and reaps 1 Soul. This cannot happen again for 45 seconds, ~~resetting to 1.5 seconds on champion Damage rating takedown.~~ No Katarina Resets. Bigger Windows to fight back / Regenerate. **Option 4** > Damaging a champion below 50% of their maximum health by any mean deals 40 − 80 (based on level) (+ 1 per Soul) (+ 25% bonus AD) (+ 15% AP) bonus Attack damageAbility power Adaptive Damage and reaps 1 Soul. This cannot happen again for 45 seconds, resetting to 1.5 seconds on champion Damage rating takedown. The soul stacking has a cap of X Souls. If X Souls are reached you gain ? Similar to new overgrowth there could be a limit to the dmg you can get via soul stacking. There could be another incentive added after X amount is reached if games go long enough.
