What is your item buy order as ADC?

So my Gold elo friend told me my item buy order is wrong. I played adc, and for some time now I've been building like this: {{item:1038}} >{{item:3006}} >complete item from Sword. But he told me it's wrong, that I should complete my dmg item first, because I lack dmg early. What do you guys think? Should I do something like {{item:1038}} >{{item:1001}} >complete Sword> complete boots? OR something different?
