why isnt maokai support a thing?

i mean really if you think about it, hes a teamfight based champion. hes got 3 crowd controll spells which is really good, hes got free wards with his saplings, and his passive and ult is all about being with your teammates. i really dont understand why hes played mostly top when his kit gets so many more benefits with teammates around you. i tried it and had a blast, especially with a coordinated adc. sivir+maokai lane is just insane. heres what i usually build as maokai support {{summoner:4}} {{summoner:7}}, {{item:3401}}/{{item:2303}} {{item:3742}} {{item:1307}} {{item:3068}} {{item:3065}} {{item:3800}} he also synergises perfectly with the utility half mage half tank items like {{item:3050}} {{item:3060}} {{item:3512}}
