How long does it take to increase honor level?

I've been on Honor 2 since seasons started, I've been honoring people on a fairly regular basis, just as I've been honored almost as often. I play a few games per day tops, and I'll get at least a couple of honors on average per day. A few months ago, if I remember correctly, I got a notification that my Honor level was about to increase, but haven't got anything since then. Is it possible for it to glitch out and not increase for some players? Or is the honors required just so astronomical that you need at least 3 honors per game per day for half a year? Because the current system doesn't really make much sense to me. And before anyone asks; no, I almost exclusively play solo so I'm no receiving weak honors from any premades.
