If i get placet in a higher tire than my friends?

If i want to play with friends that got placed in lower tire than me, does that mean i have to throw a shitload of game in order to reach their division? If so, how do i explain that to my teammates in the games i'm going to throw? It's not easy being a casual gamer, when ranked is the only option you've got...
