Chat restriction

Today I sadly got a chat restriction of 9ish games. Four years of playing league of legends where I never had any sort of punishment, All though in silver I very often see people whose behaviour are terrible and do not get punished at all, I suppose I did do something wrong. I'll not question the punishment, but I am very curious how this will affect my account and honor progress. For example, it says I can no longer obtain rewards until I have proven to be a positive player after the restriction. How long does this period of 'proving' usually take and will I also not get the level-up rewards such as champion capsules? Would be glad if anyone could help me out with those questions :)
