Ow. Ok. Still it feels weird not having RGM on Sunday.

Omg. I'm so stupid... or Riot. I read the status notification but it said "game crash" so I didn't think it would also disable reconnects. Thank you.

Just happened again. At around 10 minute mark. My lane opponent wasn't present also. Looks like it isn't a local thing.

: Okay think whatever you want, couldn't care less.Teemo is also clearly a tank since you can build sunfire randuin on him with your logic
My logic? It was you who said that champion that can one-shot an enemy is an assassin.
Fake Masks (EUNE)
: A mobile target that has a combo designed to 100-0 an enemy carry then.
More like AP burst assassin bruiser tank support ad carry.
Fake Masks (EUNE)
: Someone that uses a whole combo that can one shot=assassin. They both do it.And no Nidalee doesn't deserve any escape at all.
You can one-shot with AP Hecarim. Is he an assassin? Is Tryndamere an assassin? You can one-shot with Annie in one rotation. Is she an assassin? You can one-shot with full AP Blitzcrank in one rotation. Does that mean that Blitz is also an assassin?
Fake Masks (EUNE)
: Those you listed right now aren't any better than nida's W reduction and nocturne IS an assassin as well as Diana.
Firstly. This is the reason I intentionally avoided comparison in post. Every champion has its kit and discussing them is pointless. Everyone player his own experience and understanding of game mechanics. Secondly. They are actually better. Any of those tools let them survive after assassination. As an example let's compare Kassadin's ult as it's closest one in terms of gameplay: Nida/Kass 3s cooldown/6s-2s cooldown (this is the only part that is debatable but Kassadin's will be better at late game - moment where Nida really can use reset) dash/blink (blink is obviously better) 350 range/500 range (500 obviously better) > nocturne IS an assassin as well as Diana They are not. Their pattern is fighter (diver in recent classification) not assassin. They have means to go in (ults for both) and sustain themselves (Nocturne passive, Diana W) and do a lot of damage but no tools to get out. And don't tell me Diana is an assassin. I have around 200 games on her. How long you been playing league to not notice the difference between assassins and fighters?!
Fake Masks (EUNE)
: Yeah well compared to Kha'Zix and Katarina she can spam spears from a really long range+ There are a lot of assassins with no resets like kassadin rengar nocturne evelynn
Btw. Nocturne is more of a diver then assassin. Like Diana.
: It reset further before and it got nerfed... the thing about nidalee is that she is inherently safer than all of the other assassins because her human form is an artillery mage so she can fight from extreme range as well which isn't something any other assassin can reliably do... So to combat her safety her resets are weaker so that she isn't as good at getting out of a fight to counteract the fact that she doesn't have to get into a fight as much as other assassins.
Is that so? :D No. Riot removed AA resets not ability resets.
Fake Masks (EUNE)
: Yeah well compared to Kha'Zix and Katarina she can spam spears from a really long range+ There are a lot of assassins with no resets like kassadin rengar nocturne evelynn
I don't compare her to Katarina and Kha'Zix. I'm saying she doesn't have an assassin-like immediate escape tool. Kass has blink. Rengar W. Eve haste. Yi damage reduction. Etc. Nida has tools only to go in.
: Her pounce will partially reset on all kills, champion or otherwise... So it's not a complete reset but this is pretty much already in the game.
I know that. :)) The problem is different - she can easily be bursted in 3 seconds. It's not that noticeable in SR games because most of the game you don't go in into 5 men squad. But while I was playing LotPK it became really obvious because you are constantly teamfighting and situations when you need immediate reset happen more frequent. Immediate reset on champion kill is common assassin escape tool: Kha'Zix, Katarina and since Pounce isn't a damage dealing ability (comparatively) it won't break Nidalee.

Cool! Normal draft is more serious competitive-wise and more interesting. When ranked will be introduced I will definitely start using only LCU.
: please don't show the ban intents to the opponents. You had it once on live and it didn't turn ouit well. {{item:2047}}
It is different now as I see. You cannot see original intent - only when opponent clicks on champion. This feature always was in game. Mind games and trolling.

: i'd suggest that you add champion voices in all picks . i mean if anyone " ally or enemy " picked any champ you can her him talking whatever his quote . it was available when the new champion select was released but u disabled it . anyways if there's a button to toggle this feature on and off would be nice too .
AFAIK they disabled this feature (in live client) some time ago because players complained on being distracted. Personally I find this strange. Understandable (to emphasize your lock) but doubtful. For example you can be first pick and Alt+Tab to browser while still hearing who are you going to play with. Personally I prefer version with lines for all players. Moreover there was an awesome idea with Sona - only player that picked could hear voice, all other players - string sounds.
: This is so cool, i love it especially the quote.
Yeh. These small details really make UI feel more live.

: No, my logic is that if you queue for a long time matchmaking doesn't bother with your MMR as strictly. If you don't queue for a long time it still will. It doesn't **change** their MMR, it simply changes for who they are eligable to play with. So lets say they are in queue for 20 mins and they look for MMRs of 1200-1500. Now you go into queue with an MMR and start looking at your MMR, for this example 1500. Now matchmaking sees there is someone in their range, but when it compares it realizes it isn't in your range, therfore it won't match you togther. --------------- Still all hypothetical as noone knows how matchmaking works, but I wouldn't see any reason why Riot would make it like in your example.
>Now matchmaking sees there is someone in their range, but when it compares it realizes it isn't in your range, therfore it won't match you togther. Ohh. I understand you now. Yes. But in that range I think it takes the one that was in queue longer not with closest MMR to you.
Eveninn (EUW)
: > What do you mean? I'm saying you can be matched with player that is lower MMR because he was waiting in queue for 20 minutes before you entered queue. I mean that you will not be matched with them unless you are in queue for 20 minutes too. > I mean if you're a good player - enemy is going to have a good player. And since you're going as support there is a 75% chance that enemy's good player will be in carry role. All 10 players in the game are of similar skill anyway.
>All 10 players in the game are of similar skill anyway. Oh yeh. That is why I sometimes hear challenger and master players complaining on streams that they got matched with diamond 3 or diamond 4. :) Even in low elo difference is really noticeable but I assume you won't believe me.
Eveninn (EUW)
: > What do you mean? I'm saying you can be matched with player that is lower MMR because he was waiting in queue for 20 minutes before you entered queue. >I mean that you will not be matched with them unless you are in queue for 20 minutes too. No. This is wrong. According to your logic if any player queues for 20 minutes - everyone after him would also queue for 20 min. I will try to explain as simple as possible. Imagine there are 6 players going into queue in different time. I will simplify to only one team and one role selection so that you won't get confused. - 1st 17:00 mid 1000 MMR - 2nd 17:15 jg 1200 MMR - 3rd 17:16 top 1300 MMR - 4th 17:18 bot 1200 MMR - 5th 17:20 bot 1300 MMR - 6th 17:22 mid 1300 MMR - ...a team can be assembled at this point, only one role is missing - support... - you enter queue at 17:30 with 1300 MMR and your team assembles: supp - you top - 3rd player 1300 MMR jg - 2nd player 1200 MMR bot - 5th player 1300 MMR (1300 MMR is closer to you and difference between him and 4th player only 2 minutes) mid - 1st player 1000 MMR (because he's been in queue for 30 minutes until he could be assembled into team despite the fact there is 300 MMR difference and there is a better matched player with same MMR rating as your team)
Eveninn (EUW)
: 1st of, the *exact* same algorythm is for your allies **and** enemies, so everything that could give you a worse team as the enemy one might aswell just give you a better one than the enemy one. And obviously you won't get matched witha challenger because you were in queue for 15 mins. While there is no exact formular known, it can be compared to something like this: 0:00 Queue --- +/- 5 MMR 0:15 Queue --- +/- 10 MMR 0:30 Queue --- +/- 15 MMR 0:45 Queue --- +/- 20 MMR 1:00 Queue --- +/- 25 MMR > For you. But what about a player that entered queue 20 minutes before you? For you. So for all I can assume you are not eligable to get matched with those players.
But support is not a carry role. I mean if you're a good player - enemy is going to have a good player. And since you're going as support there is a 75% chance that enemy's good player will be in carry role. >aswell just give you a better one than the enemy one I'm talking about different topic. You overgeneralizing it. I want to say that entering as support punishes you because there may be a player with worse MMR matching that was in queue for too long. And he gets in game with you not based on his skill but based on time in queue. >For you. So for all I can assume you are not eligable to get matched with those players. What do you mean? I'm saying you can be matched with player that is lower MMR because he was waiting in queue for 20 minutes before you entered queue.
Magneset (EUW)
: I wouldnt say its straight up punishing. As you say yourself "1 good player and 2-3 really bad" Now as a support you have a way harder time "carrying" compared to other roles. Now if you played any other role assuming you are good at them you would have 2 good players which would raise your chances of winning by a lot. Im a support main myself and i experience the same thing as you. Climbing in ranked is not really support friendly, so if you want to climb i suggest playing a role thats capable of carrying.
>I wouldnt say its straight up punishing. As you say yourself "1 good player and 2-3 really bad" Yeh. But enemy also get good players. So maybe yes. It is harder because a better enemy may end up in lane with weak ally. But that's not the point of topic. I wanted to emphasize that "going as support is punishing because you can get a worse MMR matched player that waited in queue too long".
: I mostly queue as support in normals (I don't play ranked) and... -10 second wait?? I wait on average about 3 minutes. -I get matched with other players that are about the same MMR as me (equally as bad). The system generally matches me with Bronze/low silver players, so I guess that is what I would be if I played ranked? -It is rare to be matched with players that are much better or much worse than me; almost never actually. I think that maybe as support you are more dependent on the quality of your team. If the team are split up all over the map, dying 1v4 and not co-ordinating/taking objectives/communicating your game becomes very difficult; a support can't really solo carry a team like others can. Therefore, maybe you notice the quality of others more? (just a thought). From my perspective the matchmaking system is on point.
>I think that maybe as support you are more dependent on the quality of your team. I thought about this. But my concern is different - that player with worse MMR matching going to get in game with me because he waited longer then other players. >-10 second wait?? I wait on average about 3 minutes. EUNE late in the evening. First popup happens right after entering queue but first ones are usually not happening. Overall it takes up to several minutes because people are afk I assume. Hmmm... This also may confirm that time waiting affects chance of getting the game. Because usually first 1-3 games don't go through afk check. Imagine someone went into queue as mid or some other most frequently used role, waited for some time, got bored and went away from PC. :)
: >I didn't see any information from Riot that MMR has bigger priority then queue time. I am sure that Riot have said that this is the basis of the system. MMR is the primary factor in creating the team. It is only when the queue time gets long that the algorithm adjusts itself to include a broader range of MMR's in the team composition (hence it being 'Dynamic' matchmaking system).
Yes. This is my concern. I will try to explain with more details. There is a deficiency of supports. So there are like 1000 players waiting for support (number is pure random) at time you entered queue. There may be a player with worse MMR matching that is waitng in queue for 20 minutes to get mid or bot adc. And he gets his game because he was waiting in queue longer then player with better MMR matching.
: ^^ you said it so much better than I did! :)
Then you still didn't understand what I am talking about. :)
Eveninn (EUW)
: > Which means there are many games that wait for support. More games comparing to other roles. Which means you have a bigger chance of getting in bad team. Actually not if distribution is equal but... Exactly the same logic can be applied to getting better teams... Generally, all I could tell form it: The longer Queue times take the further MMR is spread. (Riot firstly searches for MMR fitting players, but when queue times get longer this part gets neglected mroe and more) Short queuetimes therefore mean everyone in the game is seated pretty close to your MMR, which at least I would consider a good thing. And stomps and close games will happen in virtually any setup, so a small sample ize can't tell anything about it.
>Exactly the same logic can be applied to getting better teams... I missed the point. Accent was on "what if queue time has bigger priority then MMR". That would exaggeratedly mean that you get any player that was waiting in queue not depending on MMR. And if you get a player not depending on MMR - you can get any quality of game. Which is bad in any case: whether it would be a great player (and you going to feel that you're not in the game) or worse (and he will drag your team down). >Short queuetimes therefore mean everyone in the game is seated pretty close to your MMR, which at least I would consider a good thing. For you. But what about a player that entered queue 20 minutes before you? E.g.: 1. A player with 1000 MMR enters queue at 16:00 as mid 2. A player with 1200 MMR enters queue at 16:20 as mid 3. You have 1200 MMR and enter queue at 16:25 as support Why I am concerned. I haven't noticed before that my teammates getting just obliterated. Ending with score 0/7/n or 0/9/n. There were loses. There were different situations. But situations when teammates is just straight getting sh*t on - not so much. And here - all games in row. In different days (to exclude bad mood or smth). I was also watching some high elo games and noticed that from time to time there were players that are just straight bad. Like too bad to fit in that high elo bracket.
Tarolock (EUW)
: actually i think the opposite is true, im a support main myself and i read about ppl getting much higher/lower mmr opponents/teammates and they are mostly mid/top where the queue time is pretty long and because of that the system is more lenient, while as a support you get into a team pretty fast so you get opponents/teammates around the same mmr as you as for trolls/noobs well you cant really do anything about them, but as you said if there is at least 1 good guy and the others are not straight up trolling/feeding then you have a pretty good chance at winning
You're saying "if I'm support I have a wider range of players to play so I will definitely get a player with more equal MMR and not the one that was longer in queue". But are you sure it's true? I didn't see any information from Riot that MMR has bigger priority then queue time. Nor I seen matchmaking algorithm. And you know that "I think" or "I read" is subjective and may not be true. >as for trolls/noobs well you cant really do anything about them, but as you said if there is at least 1 good guy and the others are not straight up trolling/feeding then you have a pretty good chance at winning I said - loosing is not the point. The point is - subjectively game quality is worse and I have a feeling that time in queue of players you get affects this.

I agree. I mean, the other have a theme, the lifeguard Taric, and the noodle fighter Fiora. While MF looks like a mom (MILF FORTUNE?!?! HA?! Moreover, Taric got a new voice filter with the megaphone, gets to be shirtless and has that sun thingie come down on ult while a guitar is rocking in the background. Fiora got Kelly the crab, now has it as a "pretty picture" and a seagull voice on ult.
