: getting banned for being toxic (please read the whole thread)
One more fact I'd like to state. out of I don't know hundreds of games (I'm guessing around 400-500), I got permanentely banned beacuse of roughly 10 games with "toxic behavior" (4 for the chat restrictions, 4 for the 14 day suspensions and 2 for the final perm ban). The games I was above above average good behavior, where I was encouraging toxic/trolls to don't give up, to stop playing, that we'll scale, that we can win etc etc etc (and note, I won those "lost" games beacuse of those encouragment words, my teammates rarely, but still sometimes happened to change their behavior and lead them to victory) are completely ignored! And I don't like the fact that I got permanentely banned for 10 games that I just simply snapped, and those games where I was hella above average behavior are completely ignored. I understand if I was writing those stupid toxic stuff every single freaking game, but those games were the games I simply snapped.

: When a player is forced to mute you, the damage is already done. You've most likely ruined their game experience, and lowered their will to win. Muting you is just a defense mechanism. Compare it to the real world: Is breaking into someones house OK because they could have installed burgler alarms? The ability to defend yourself from crime doesn't mean crime itself is permitted. --- > But, if you're intentionally feeding or trolling, that's a completely different story. You are directly ruining the game for your team Verbal toxicity is also a direct way to ruin the game, it's just not as easily measured by ingame stats. However, Riot have shown through their ingame tips that people who display toxic behaviour on average lose more games than those who don't, which is evident that toxicity ruins games.
I see, I was not correct on that part. But, if a toxic person is punished by a perm chat ban (after all those chat restrictions of course). the "toxicity and verbal abuse problem" is solved, period. Pings are enough for in game communication for giving intel and such. However, if that person that was perma chat banned for example, starts intentionally feeding or trolling as a way of expressing their anger/tilt, it should be a perma ban immediately in my opinion. I'm not trying to get my account unbanned, that is undoable. I'm done with this game (that's for another day), but these are simply my points that I think are correct or half correct that I'd like to prove that would improve the game.
Hansiman (EUW)
: > beacuse it has 0 impact on the actual gameplay. Actually, it does. Verbal toxicity causes games to be lost, because it ruins people's morale and will to play. It's also one of the major reasons people quit the game, so it's also bad for business to not hand out penalties for it. Permabans for verbal toxicity are only issues once a player has shown no will to improve their behaviour. It's a last resort, and a way for Riot to tell a player to please find something else to play. --- > I think a perm chat ban or something like that is more correct for a punishment of that offense. This was tried out a while back, but didn't work. People undergoing a permanent chat restriction simply found other ways to destroy the game when they got mad, such as intentionally feeding.
I see, but my point is that if you're toxic, you're team can just mute you and that's the solution (so basically a perm chat ban is a permanent mute let's say) and that's a problem fixed for toxicity. All players, both toxic and non toxic will play. the toxic player can yell at the monitor, say whatever he wants, but the other players won't hear it, so that's problem fixed. But, if you're intentionally feeding or trolling, that's a completely different story. You are directly ruining the game for your team, the enemy team gains a huge gold advantage or whatever, and all in that person should instantly get banned since he is directly ruining the game, and there's unfortunately not a "mute" button to toggle off a trolling teammate, but you can toggle off a toxic teammate by simply muting him.

Yes, some people could say that to hurt him and not as actual advice. As if they need a professional to help them with such petty things as being toxic. All he needs is a different perspective. ... so, no I am not trying to degrade him at all ... if he came here asking for a PC building advice and he got technical on us and noone could help him, then we would tell him "go ask a computer technician" and none insult would have been there to be made. similarly, he comes here asking about how he could stop being toxic and irritable and effective immediately he becomes irritated because he didn't like a very valid suggestion, so since noone can help him, it is reasonable to tell him to ask a professional on that matter. where is the insult in that .?. Indeed "People seriously need to stop being so sensitive" ;) and, btw, being unable to control your reactions over a small thing like an online game, is not a "petty thing" indeed ... it is a symptom that should be really looked into in order to find the cause ...

Nah, i'm genuinely asking for tips/tricks/guide to stop being toxic. I want to stop, but I don't know the solution how to be clear from toxicity 100%
: I'm not a player behavior expert so this is my personal opinion, but I have seen topic like the one posted by Prolomatek now and then for the last few years and I always wondered as a community if we look enough outside our own yard. "I can't stop being toxic", so the first question that I have is do we want to stop being toxic? And do we recognize that being toxic is a destructive behavior for ourselves? I believe that if we get angry is because we care, and we should embrace that. I consider myself lucky to have a passion that I can share with my friends, to play a game that let me get better through practice, that is expanded beside the “play” button. I grow up in a pre-internet era and when I was young teenager there were no video games players around me. Everybody had their own passions, bikes, or football, but I always wanted to share my passion for games with other, but they were not there, just I knew that those people existed, because there were magazines, but those gamers just weren’t in my area. Now is different, now I am surrounded by players, by rioters, my friends are playing with me. I’m very lucky, I’m part of a community, I belong between my peers, I’m not alone. But in a social group there are rules, am I willing to agree to these rules in order to live in this society? Also what does it mean "I can't stop"? Do we rage in league the same way that we rage in our personal life? Do we have an urge that we can't control when we drive to work or do we just explodes when things are not going in our favor? “I can’t stop”, that’s big statement. That means admitting that we are not in control of our own life anymore and that scares the s*it out of me. A few years ago I moved from player support to events and instantly I found myself travelling constantly across Europe. I think the first year I took something like 40-50 planes. Of course on the second of those 50 trips we ended up being in a crazy storm, one of those that force a plane to land on a airport strip in the middle of nowhere cause the turbulence was so crazy and the wind was above the plane specs. It was superscary. I know that planes are incredible safe, I know that it’s most likely to die on the ride to the airport that in a crash, but even if I tried to rationalize it, I became afraid to fly and when you fly so much you build stress all over, every week is another “oh my god I need to take another plane”. I got to the point that I was checking weather forecast to see if turbulence was expected or starting to have my own “good luck” routine that is completely not me. After year of silent suffering I started to realize that I was not in control of my life, I started to realize that my fear of flying was actually making decisions for me. And that’s how it is, you can be the most rational person on the planet and boom the chemist in your brain just take over and transform you in somebody else. So I said, “I won’t be that guy, I won’t be the one that says I’can’t stop being afraid” and took things in my own hand and I recognized that I have problem. I went online and I bought “Flying with Confidence”, wrote by the guys that do the British Airways confidence course. I said, let’s start with a book and then we see if I need professional help. Guys, I spent two or three years being afraid of flying, then I read a book, trying a couple of techniques and now I can’t wait to get on a plane so I can sleep like a baby. And sometimes I feel like an idiot because for so many years I just suffered for nothing, but at the same time I’m proud of myself to have take action. There is nothing wrong in admitting that we have a problem, there is an entire support system out there, but we need to be the first one to take action. So to go back to league and to the “I can’t stop being toxic” maybe we should start looking at things outside the youtube video of the diamond player that tell us “mute everybody”. Are we on top of our physical and mental strength? Maybe we need to start learning how to recognize the signs of our rage building up, maybe we need to change our diet, maybe we need to learn breathing techniques, maybe we need to download that meditation app that everybody is talking about, maybe we need to do more sport so we can produce more endorphins and be happier, maybe we just need to speak with a professional psychologist. We can’t control our friends, our parents, our teachers our teammates, the only thing that we can control is ourselves, what are we willing to do to be the best that we can be?
The term "I can't" was over reacting by me. lel sry

Guys, an update. Some of you misunderstood it. It's not that I cannot control my self. I can "not click the enter button". : Well, the main question is: what are your resources? There are four basic steps you need to take: 1. find your strengths 2. find your weaknesses 3. learn how to use your strengths 4. train to get over your weaknesses For the first two, you need someone who is good at analyzing objectively, preferably from an outside perspective. I can help you with this part if you want me to, or you can ask one of your friends, if you have some who play League too. The second question, would be "how do you learn best?". Are you the type who has to try everything yourself? Are you good at learning from watching others play? Would you learn the most from either direct coaching or at least watching a video of someone getting coached? Basically: before you can start improving, you have to know what you have at the moment, and how you can improve them.
Thanks , I will work on that what you told, and I would aprecciate a lot if you help me out to find my strenghts and weaknesses, beacuse when I'm with my friends ( they're very toxic), we just get into an argument and lose time. : This has been more than explained through videos or posts like this. **/Mute all** at the start of every game. All you need in games are pings. But let's be real, when teammates don't play to win, or do rashful decisions that make the game even harder, you just tilt. It's apart of this game, or else it wouldn't be so spoken of. Also, this goes from person to person. Someone as you and me are people that do not tolerate failure, and tend to be very upset about that. - Keep in mind, this isn't all that bad in the real world, but in games... Well, from outside it must look ridiculous. This is what i think, you just have to think from outside. Kinda like leaving your body and look at yourself having that kinda of behaviour because of an online game. That's what I do. I works sometimes.
