: Ok first there are several reason why Champiosn receive VGU. First and obvious one, they are old. This one is pretty true for Irelia, it's very old champion at this point. Second is gameplay balance, if champion is hard or impossible to balance duo to their kit, they are more likely to get reworked. This is partially true for Irelia. Third is champion fantasy execution. Each champion should be unique and represent certain fantasy that should reflect in their gameplay. This is something current Irelia does pretty bad, with her Q being most interesting part of her kit. Even her ultimate is quite underwhelming. Not exactly "The will of blades" you would expect. Since Irelia fits all these points, and in addition she is a fighter, which is class that overall rework got cancelled, it makes sense that She got high priority. Also there is not much they could do with just gameplay update regarding her kit, since they pretty much wanted to change everything except for her Q. Her passive is problematic, her W is boring, her is also sort of problematic and her ult does not feel like ult. Unlike champion like Xin who got away with much smaller scope of rework, Irelia just ended up with full VGU. You might have also notice Irelia does not really receive much skins, mainly duo to her priority for VGU. Sure there are other underwhelming champions, but not all are that problematic, many are probably going to get some sort of smaller gameplay update and the most important thing, Riot needs ideas for the update. Sometimes it happens that they come up with cool idea or mechanic that just "fits" the champion, this may also significantly increase priority for rework. Personally I would say that getting her rework now means they came up with something really cool that we can look forward to.
Thank you so much this has really helped to clarify it for me. Actually I'm making my own design for an Irelia rework now and just seeing how that goes so I can get into the mindset of Riot while doing something I love.
: For two reasons, one from RioT herself: 1) She is pretty much the last one of the "full point and click kit" champs, together with {{champion:80}} (which may infact be reworked too, given that it's a diver exactly like Irelia and Aatrox and RioT's plan is to rework them one by one). RioT is almost surely not going to ever design another champ like that, so completely devoid of skillshots. This is simply a design that is ought to disappear, and for good reason. 2) RioT stated once that Irelia is supposed to be a fighter that moves her weapons with her mind, something which, well, {{champion:98}} currently does way better than her, and they are going to base the rework right on this point. My guess is that she may ends up moving her blades exactly like {{champion:98}} moves his sword...but obviously in a more offensive style. For now we don't have any details about this rework, and i'm quite curious.
okay thank you this does give more clarity; I guess its coz I like Irelia which is why I'm confused. I personally find their are bigger issues than her at the moment, granted her rework isn't for a while, but surely Udyr is a "full point and click kit" and so is like Aatrox, Yi, Nasus etc.
: {{item:3165}} hates her. I mean, there are a bunch of long answers Riot probably has/is going to give out, but the TL;DR is, Riot says she needs one, so she gets one. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the rework, I think Riot has done really a really good job with all of their massive VGU reworks so far, so in my mind, Irelia will be better than she is now. Why she is priority over other coughAatroxcough champions, I honestly don't know. It doesn't make that much sense.

: cause she could get to op with future items and stuff like this.. she is as unique as swain is.. if there will be something strong out they will destroy any enemy with it.. its more to avoid that she gets to mighty and with every patch you would have to look at the unique champs so the game is still balanced.. if they just make her similar to others you have better control on the things you want to change
so riot want to make her less unique? oh... that sounds.... sucky

I suggested the cooldowns on some things to make his early game weaker but last thing they nerfed was his passive. I guess this time it could be stealth duration as like 10/11/12/13/14 seconds of stealth is a bit long in my opinion XD
: 7.18 was the worlds patch, so only pro play focused changes on there... which is why trist got a nerf and twitch didn't, twitch is a solo Q champion. As for if he would get a nerf, riot haven't mentioned anything.
That is very true so I honestly did not expect a twitch nerf in 7.18. However he has been S tier for like months now so he should be on the road to nerfs just like Kog as Kog would become the #1 adc if twitch got nerfed and he did not. Especially as Kog gets picked more in pro play than twitch does.

: Just a weird idea i had: What if instead of draining light from an area, the black crystals on her staff draw shadows to her and chase light away. When Natalia walks out of fog of war it sort of drags the darkness with her? It's hard to explain but when she moves into her enemies' vision radius the fog of war remains around her in a circle until she ventures too far from the original area of darkness. Basically a bit like akali's W but it would just be a big dark circle which Natalia's allies can hide in too. Could replace the passive on her ultimate? Also instead of stealth on the passive (too like eve) she could have a buff while unseen. So base her around being unseen, but don't give her invisibility or camouflage - so you have to play around fog of war (get red trinket and duskblade). The buff could be based around sustain to help with her clears, but I think just bonus health regen would be boring, so maybe something more like Rek'sai's rage heal and Tahm's grey health. I really like the ult idea, am I right in guessing you want her to be able to travel from shadow to shadow? If so, something similar but also cool could be: Natalia draws the shadows to herself, gaining a ton of movement speed and disabling all nearby enemy wards. The fog of war remains around her (from passive) and enshrouds enemies, reducing their vision radius. Natalia's first hit on an enemy champion does lots of damage.
I really really like these ideas man they fit well with her lore and are based around her themes which I have set up for her. Only question is about how the kit would flow and your ult idea although cool would be just a faster yet crappier version of kayn E lol. Will definitely take these ideas into consideration though for sure - thank you!! I have a general Idea for what I can do both in sustain department and the passive rework.
: Normally I would go through these things and 'tear them to shreds'. Pick 'em apart and point out what I think needs changing. This kit, in a basic sense, is pretty well balanced. The aim is clear and the theme maintained throughout. However. It butts into quite a few champions niches. The passive is reminiscent of Eve's passive amalgamated into Kha'Zix's ult. And the ult is basically a way better version of TFs ult. TP anywhere on the map without warning (which, looking back now, is potentially pretty busted. It also kind of sits on the boardline of "ball o'stats" territory. Bonus MS from passive and E. True Sight on passive. Bonus AD on W. AD and AP on the ult. It's just a bit much honestly. This is one of the few champ concepts on the boards that I would be interested to see on the Rift at some point, but I think a little more time and polish is needed before that.
Hello thank you so much for your feedback and I'm glad you like most aspects of the kit! Focusing on the ultimate it would be similar to that of old Rek'Sai ultimate in that it has a loud global Audio sound to it to make it noticeable. Looking at the kit again with your feedback I have noticed a few things which I could change and most likely will: 1) Too many passives within the concept itself which I noticed. I may have to take out one of them just to take it out from that "ball o'stats" like you said. 2) The passive is actually, even before you comment, under an update by me as I did feel like it didn't flow as well with her kit as for example the rest of her abilities so expect this to change slightly within the future to further add fluidity to her playstyle 3) I'm also taking a look at her jungle clears in comparison to other junglers in addition to the sustain she has within the jungle so expect some changes directed in this way if changes are made.
