Second the advice about not overthinking it, finding a champion you enjoy is the key - then it's just a case of playing them over and over until you feel confident and comfortable. Also, might be a controversial opinion, but I played a ton of ARAM games to try and speed up my knowledge of different champion kits, items and how they play (whilst having fun of course).
We've tried a few different things in the way of content tailored for new players, but my own personal view on it is that there is already a ton of amazing content out there, created by the League community, so we need to do a better job in helping guide players to it. On that note, I cannot recommend the [Summoner School ](https://www.reddit.com/r/summonerschool/)subreddit enough. They have a beginner's guide megathread [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/summonerschool/comments/9qgkbj/new_to_rsummonerschool_or_looking_for_updated/), which I recommend checking out. It even has a playlist specifically dedicated to wave management.

: it's very unpleasant, and I nearly gave up, just started this is my 2nd week, I am keeping to bot games for now, its hard to learn the game, just found this board so hopefully I will find some good guides too, please add me if you fancy helping me out with the odd question, I get confused about what the lanes are all about atm, and why people fight over them ? I have learnt the Jungle has buffs today through reading chat. I have been a gamer for decades so I can play once I get into it : ) which I am doing just need to learn more about what its all about now I can play my character
Feel free to add me Lowkes, I will help out where I can. :) I've found that the people that get super angry in-game often have no idea what they are talking about, so if you do come across this behaviour, just hit tab and mute them from that screen, I don't think you will lose much in the way of valuable feedback or advice.

: How can i stop tilting?
The biggest thing I have found (take this with a pinch of salt because I am on like a 9 game losing streak) is to look at each game as an opportunity for me to improve, specifically when I die. When I do get killed, I take as long as I have watching the grey screen to try and figure out how I could have avoided it - play differently, itemisation, warding, map awareness etc. I am tilting much less and although the results don't back it up yet, feel as though I am improving at the game quite a bit. As these things are in my control, I feel less frustrated. That's the theory anyway.

: Hey Ben, Just my 2 cents: Yup, I do think the content is helpful. At least for me, since Yasuo is the one champ I can't stand and actually tilts me just to see him on the loading screen on the enemy team x.X About Zoe and the other champs, I don't really have an issue with them. Just that lil' measurement unit which if played by an experienced player, can be a pain indeed. But I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of players [because I've seen a lot of threads about them as well] that will find those tips useful. The page is cool and well structured imo. It's easy to follow up and understand what's it about. There are some minor issues with it tho. Like, one of the fog clouds in the middle of the screen right after load, has it's top trimmed. [Here's that layer alone](https://news-a.akamaihd.net/public/images/pages/2018/february/eu-mg/fog_1.png). It's pretty easy to spot. Not a breaking issue, but it just looks unfinished. :< Also, there are those fire particles that while reading, if they overlap with the text, it gets a lil' hard to follow. But in any case, I do enjoy overall what you guys published here, so there's a thumbs up from me! {{sticker:sg-jinx}} ###### PS: That video at the end freaked me out. The Zoe's and the shrooms are so creepy xD
Fantastic feedback thank you. :) We're looking at it now and it looks a bit odd - will follow up.

We'd love feedback from you about the site, and whether the content is helpful.
: How to climb ?
Hey there, There are so many things to consider, one of the main resources I use is [Summoner School](https://www.reddit.com/r/summonerschool/). The Subreddit there is dedicated to helping people improve at League and I have got a lot of amazing advice from there. If you have a look, there are many posts dedicated specifically to helping people climb in Ranked. My own tip would be practice a couple of champions until you are incredibly comfortable on them (50+ games on each) which work across a couple of roles - for example Lux, Morg, Brand, Jax, Ekko etc. Champion comfort for me seems to be one of the biggest impacts on Ranked success. Good luck!
Remmeh (EUW)
: Champions and their cost
As the other guys have already mentioned, champs are not priced based on power, the prices are relative to their release date. Champion balance is something we take really seriously and put a lot of time into, and all are viable when you play other players (if you know what you're doing with them!) If you'd like to get an idea of how a champion plays or what they can do, there are a ton of amazing player made videos on the web that I recommend checking out. You can also look for the various champion Subreddits ([for example the Ekko one](https://www.reddit.com/r/ekkomains/)) - the players there tend to be experts in those champions and happy to give advice to new players in how they work and how to get the best out of them. Also, you may enjoy a certain way of playing League - for example being a mage or assassin etc - if you have an idea of that we can recommend some specific champions to try that we think you will enjoy.

Hey there, You can earn keys through playing as well. :) [Link](https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/115008474148-Honor-FAQ): How do I get key fragments? Get all your key fragments by doing two simple things: Playing games, and avoiding Instant Feedback penalties like chat restrictions and bans. That's it. It's an intentionally low bar, because we want you to get your stuff. You don’t need to be honored by teammates to get keys. Individual honors are connected to other rewards like loading screen flairs. Keys can drop whether you win or drop the game. Key fragments hit while browsing the client or on login. You’ll also get key fragments at checkpoints and level ups. Hope that helps.
: Oh yes, heaven forbid people want to keep positive within a place where people come to have _fun!_ What is this, a _game_ or something?
: Even if i wanted to try it i couldnt as they are all either gold or higher and im an unranked noob :(
Ahem, yep - gold or higher. Our ethos is to play like any other player, you guys don't have instant ban privileges, so neither do we. Many of us play without "Riot" in our name, so we face the same amount of negative (and positive!) stuff that you do. :)
: Does Riot still care about reports? (2)
We 100% do care about your experience in game - we play every day as well, so whatever you experience, we experience. There is a lot of work that goes on in the background to try and tackle negative behaviour and to focus on and reward the good stuff - but we know we're not where we want to be yet. I'm sorry you had a crappy experience, as we were just talking about in a different thread, people handle the pressure of League in different ways, and sometimes they vent the frustration by being shitty to each other.
: It happens to everyone, I've been through it myself, albeit to a lower level (I did use to destroy quite a lot of shit around my house though lol) I agree, the community in general is bad and not very enjoyable to play in, but if this is a big reason why you find yourself not climbing and being put into those moods, before you forget just mute all before you leave base ^^
I bit through a controller playing Super Tennis on the SNES as a kid. Now that was a frustrating game. I would argue that our community is awesome, but MOBAs like League in which individual performances have such a big impact lead to feelings of high stress, which then leads to people handling that stress badly. There is very little else in gaming quite as frustrating as getting dumpstered by someone in lane and feeling like there is nothing you can do. Or of course, watching that happen to someone else on your team knowing that you are going to need to deal with that fed Riven later in the game. Whenever you go to a League event, away from the pressure of the game itself, you meet such amazing passionate people, who by and large are completely lovely. They just want to talk to you about how much they love the game, or how much they hate or love Teemo. If we could learn to handle stuff when it doesn't go our way, I think we'd all be a bit happier in game.

: This game seriously makes me cry from the stress and harassment
As someone who is very competitive, but unfortunately is terrible at League, I very much understand your pain. (not saying you are as bad as me!) It's been a long road for me, but ever since I switched my focus to improving, rather than winning I am much happier and slowly climbing season on season. Whenever something bad happens I try and question myself - why did it go that way? What could I have done differently? etc - it's something I picked up from watching streamers like Foxdrop and Huzzy - you see them do that completely naturally after every mistake. It's helped move my focus away from my team and more on to me and my own play, which has helped lower my stress level during play (as it's something inside my control) and the knock-on impact is that I don't get as upset by the people I play with anymore. I'm not saying I am great at this, I still tilt and get angry when I play and things don't go the way I want, but I am getting better. :) I also wanted to say thank you to everyone in the thread so far, there is already some great advice here.
: {{champion:103}} Solid, alllround, got some dashes, a sustain, true dmg. She's just generally pretty good. I consider her to be more of an assassin than a real mage, due to her mobility and pin point accuracy. Dashes, Q's and E allow for some mechanics, but not the most difficult. {{champion:131}} She's a pretty good assassin, that's got a bit of a tough early game, but gets fairly brawly late game. Will delete squishies and is a serious threat. Just not mechanically very challenging (not the same as easy to play). {{champion:245}} More of the same as Diana, but with a different flavor. Not the most high mechanic intense champ, but when he gets rolling he's a pretty good mage assassin. Can build tanky, or can be fairly safe when you have to play from behind. {{champion:84}} Bad early game, but enemy has to focus you, or lose the teamfight. Meanwhile you sustain all the dmg they try to get onto you. Only having a dash in means you'll have to consider your moves quite a bit...but the effecive threat range, and sustain makes up for a lot. Can definately solo carry if not taken care of by the complete enemy team. {{champion:238}} It's zed. Has a few mechanics with the whole shadow thing, but the payoff is stupid high. nuff said. I hate this champ. {{champion:91}} CAN BE GOOD. Though I have a feeling he might have a difficulty curve or situational viability like running into a brick wall. {{champion:7}} See her do pretty well occasionally. Needs a nice degree of mechanics since the rework. But could be a bit on the weak side atm. I think you'll have to judge that on your own.
+1 for Ekko - he has everything for me, and is just so fun to play. You can run him with so many different rune combinations based on your playstyle as well.

: Honnor system reset, what a big fail
It's already been pointed out by a couple of people in the comments but you didn't get a reset because of your current Honor level. I had a quick look at your history and it looks like you could do with altering things a little and being more honorable in games if you'd like to get your Honor level up. If you'd like a bit of help from us, you can contact our support team and they can run through a couple of your games with you and the things that you said, to help you improve for the future.
: Climbing as a support. Please help <3
So I am not a support main by any means but I am surrounded by them and I can assure you that it's more than possible to climb as a support. The main thing for climbing is finding a main role and a couple of main champs that you are really comfortable on and then just practise practise practise. If you've had a break for a while you are probably better off practising in normals first until you are really comfortable and confident on a couple of champions. As I mentioned, I don't main support and the champs you are comfortable on depend largely on your playstyle, but when I get autofilled I love playing engage-supports like Leona. I'll see if I can get a couple of the support mains around me to give you champ recommendations.

: Quest and rank new season
I'm going to be incredibly biased because I pretty much only play ranked, but I haven't found players to be any worse or better to each other in normals when I do play them (eg the off-season). The new season is a pretty exciting time for a lot of players so I think it makes a lot of sense to have a mission or two associated with it - but I don't think we should have all kinds of rewards associated with one kind of game mode - if we did that I would agree with you.

I tried building Shyvana full AP in ARAM and it didn't go well.

It could be worse, we could be asking people to play {{champion:17}} !

: How do you know what Grapics card can play what game?
The buildapc subreddit is fantastic for help and advice around this kind of thing. : Should I buy Kayn or Talon?
If you go with Talon you have the added bonus of being able to play him in draft games! (Kayn is 100% banned in all mine)
: Being positive wont help u win games.
It definitely does help, as people have mentioned a large part of it is your own mentality. When you get upset/frustrated you make worse decisions, which is big in a game that is very much about the quality of your decisions. It also has a knock-on effect on the players around you, even though it might not be easily visible. I can completely relate to this feeling though, we want to do more around improving the way we all conduct ourselves in game. We'll have more to announce on this next week.

: I've saved this thread in the subreddit. If (more like when, honestly) the Pound recovers, and the prices do not change back, I will be picking it up and publicising that fact.
We reduced the price a couple of years ago based on the strength of the Pound, and monitored the drop for a year before making a change to increase the price again. As you can see from what a few of us have said already today - we are always looking at this and will look to make changes in the future if it makes sense.
: I honestly think you should have a 975RP option where the person pays exactualy how much 975RP is worth at the time. Nobody wants to spend more money than they have to. I think at least 80% of players will want an 975RP option just because it will buy them the skin they want.
This feedback has come through loud and clear as a result of the feedback so far - thank you everyone. The short version is that we have a set amount of price points and we try and tailor them to suit the majority of players that make purchases. We're keeping a close eye on things and will see if we can improve options further down the line.
: So if the value of the pound goes back up, will there be a reduction in the price of rp?
We lowered the price of RP in 2015 for players buying in Pounds. If the market shifts significantly again, we'll act.
: 20% is a shocking amount of an increase and i will certainly be significantly be scaling back the amount of money i spend on this game. the fact that this announcement is hidden here and there is no mention of it on the client, news section or twitter shows that you know how people are going to react to this and trying to sneak it through. this is the first time in the years i have been playing this game that i feel riot are not giving their players fair value for money. very disappointed in this decision
Just to clarify, we are absolutely not trying to hide this - we chose the Boards because we wanted to focus the discussion in one place so that we could talk with you guys about it. We don't have a specific platform for UK players (yet!) but there are a lot of UK players that read these forums, even if they don't post a lot. We have also messaged this on Twitter and were confident that it would be picked up by players on Reddit and multiple gaming/esports websites (which it has). I'm not sure if comes across in my message - something I will definitely take on board for future communications - but UK players are now getting comparatively the same value as players using other currencies. That was the intention behind these changes. Our goal around pricing is that you all feel that you are getting value out of any money you spend, so you guys feeling differently is genuinely something we care about. Also, very importantly - we want players to have a great experience in League without spending anything.

: Sticks and Stones approach
Flaming and being shitty with people not only impacts how much fun players have, it's also a sign of someone not owning their mistakes, which means they won't improve and over time and **will win less**. I personally care about both aspects, particularly the winning part, which is why I am trying to rage/flame less and focus more on myself and my own play. Having said that, it's a misconception that we don't care or do anything about inting/trolling etc - although our way of dealing with them is admittedly not where we want it to be. As with most things - it's a work in progress that we want to want to keep improving.

But boy, his kit already looks like all I could ever wish for, having a hard on for mobility champions, seeing that e was like second christmas to me, and on a jungler no less.. Ability to switch from bruiser to assassin depending on the game condition is also amazing, perfect for a jungler that needs to adapt for his team, the insane potential of his ult, again AS A JUNGLER that can just hop into the enemy jungler to steal objectives or take a trip along with tali/ryze etc..honestly I can't image how it could be any better. So good I can even overlook the edge overload. Thank you <3
