: Hextech Crafting is great and stuff Riot... But why do you hate mains so much?
Thanks for all the responses guys! Just a quick reply to anyone saying something to the effect of "I'm getting lots of chests right now so it's fine": Do bear in mind that you can only get one chest per champion, per season. So it will get significantly more difficult as the season goes on. I too have so far received the maximum 5 chests, but I play only a small pool of champs as a jungle main. The mains being Yi, Lee, Wukong, Hecarim, Shyvana in order or frequent play. To add to this, I am very much a Yi main, with around 10 S ranks since the release of Crafting on him. Meaning that unless I change my playstyle greatly over the season, I would personally struggle to acquire chests without deliberately playing champions I do not enjoy with friends just to scoop up some free loot. I think this is my main problem with the system; not the quantity of loot, but that it systemically promotes unnatural play.

: i've gotten a key everytime i've won with an S rank myself. I don't think they are as random as you think they are. Keys are rewarded when you play good, and chests are rewarded when you try something different. I don't see the problem.

Riot announced officially that they were awarded randomly upon winning a game. The problem is that keys are "rewarded when you play good" as you put it, but so are chests; the difference is that chests reward good play with a diverse pool of champions whereas keys reward good play with any champion. You need both to open a chest, therefore there is no way to get a good amount of chest openings while playing a small pool of champions.

: Increasing Rewards for Skillful Play with Master Yi
To add to my last two responses. You have to realize that I do partially agree with both of you, as mentioned in my post. I was disappointed that just running at enemies not really pressing many buttons can actually be a decent tactic if fed; that's the reason I proposed the change, to give Yi more damage for performing more actions per minute.

: ive got like over 85% winrate on YI, that champ has nothin to do with skill, the dmg is way too powerfull + you can build few tanky items aswell

The only benefit tank items have on Yi is to allow players to make more mistakes while playing him. Judging by your supposed "85%" win rate with him, I can tell for a fact that you have not played more than 20 games with him or you are lying about that percentage, which I'm sure you aren't. To re-iterate Yi brings nothing but his damage to a game, and if you aren't building damage, you are wasting the only purpose he has in the League. I think it would be a good thing for you to play Yi a bit more, especially as full-glass and see how you find him after 50 or so games; I feel like your opinion will change vastly.
: 'Noob stomper'? This champion is by far the most broken one right now. It is embarassing that such a champion exists and that it has not even been hotfixed yet. I have around a 99% loss rate against him and I ban him every game when I get the chance. His skillcap isn't that high either, cancelling auto attacks with W is something you can do very easily if you know that it's possible, using your Q to dodge an ability/attack is just as easy as pressing E when playing Fizz. Changing his Meditate will not really do anything to be honest, a rework ~~or a remove are~~ is the best to do right now.

I don't see why you would want a champion that has existed since before Season 1 to be "hotfixed" or maybe you just don't understand the term you're using. His Q is not like Fizz's E as it requires a target and is the only gapcloser of a champion with very low resistances. If wasted against decent opponents, you're not going to even arrive at the teamfight before your brutal death. You cannot look at individual skills in a vacuum, the game doesn't work like that. Same with Meditate, you don't use it as an auto-attack reset unless you can also reduce damage with the same move, e.g. timing it with a tower shot or obvious enemy ability. For the same reason as Q, once it's gone, you are VERY vulnerable. A single auto attack reset with no damage component on a 20+ second cooldown would just be awful. For the above reasons I stand by what I said in my op; Yi is easy to pick up, hard to Master. Not the most difficult, but certainly not easy.

: only wanted to give a hint that you have to keep in mind how such a late game change can affect the early game ... for myself .. i don't play Yi as he doesn't fit my champion pool so i can't tell how good his early is. As mentioned .. suggesting such a change should "working" for all phases of the game. Glad that you understand what I wanted to say and take it into account.

Mhm ^^ And like I say, and feedback is much appreciated as no one is perfect so I probably did overlook something.

: While I understand your point, i am not sure if this change would help, as it seems, it would hurt jungle Yi early sustain...
> [{quoted}](name=Anraton,realm=EUW,application-id=39gqIYVI,discussion-id=uIp1rbPn,comment-id=0000,timestamp=2016-03-17T11:19:01.943+0000) > > While I understand your point, i am not sure if this change would help, as it seems, it would hurt jungle Yi early sustain... That is true to an extent, however, due to Meditate granting a fair amount of damage reduction even at lower levels, I would argue that if used correctly, Yi's early clear could be even stronger than before. To add to this, personally I do not have a problem clearing early with Yi, I always have enough gold for my Stalker's on first back. I do understand your point though, and the last thing I would want to do is remove Yi's new player accessibility as I imagine he's a great jungler to learn with and I wouldn't want to ruin that; so thank you for pointing that out. ^^

: There are always other factors than "pure skill" in everything. As they say, _Luck and skill go hand in hand_. Also, if you want to reply to someone, use the "[Reply](http://i.imgur.com/hpkwJcZ.png)" button.

Thank you for the advice. And while luck will always be a factor, luck based on in game mechanics that are specifically designed to increase chance based gameplay are always a bad thing for competitive environments.
: Riot hates RNG, yet we still have Crit chance. Let's fix that.
@RewardWanted Yeah personally I love RNG stuff, mainly because I don't play competitive modes all that often. I like to win, but I like to have fun too. But I'm aware that Riot really wants ESports League to be a massive thing, and if they do, they need to remove all RNG really.

Meh, I don't think being the first to think of it means that much anyway, I didn't ever hear about it before. And Riot weren't the first to think of the whole MOBA thing, and they made an awesome game out of it.

: The League of Boring Passives
While that is true, allowing for counterplay and proper usage of a passive does not always make it more complicated. Take Garen's passive for example, simple passive, simple champion. But you do genuinely have to think "Okay I'm low but I don't want to recall, I'll play safe and farm near tower to allow my health to regen" and the enemy can think "Okay Garen wants to use his passive, I should try to hit him with poke every 5 seconds to make sure he can't". I just think passives with more impact are more fun for the players.
: The League of Boring Passives
I'd also like to clarify that I know that Riot has a lot of stuff to do that is more important right now; I can think of at least 4 champions that are slated for a rework soon, and so I would not expect these passives, that are functional to be changed any time soon. More of a future change that may be good for the game if anything.
: The League of Boring Passives
The ult actually fits his theme really well, in Journey to the West, Sun Wukong would fight by spinning his staff around him in a circle. And I do understand that gameplay wise, these passives do work well, even Shyv's helps her by being a useful tool to allow her to bust through enemy lines while taking very little damage. I just feel like adding a passive that is noticeable and allows for both outplays and counterplay would be more beneficial to the game as a whole. Maybe in the case of keeping Wukong's passive good for ults, have a mechanic that adds a mark to champions who are hit by his abilities and basic attacks. Which is then discharged by his ult, giving him Armor and MRes pr stack consumed.
: The League of Boring Passives
For a champion who only uses 2 auto attacks, maximum in his burst. I feel that it could be something much more interesting.
