: It's better for you to learn either how to ignore them or how to outplay them.
The thing I mean is that **the overwhelming majority** of these players always think they **are the only ones** who can carry. Everyone else is the burden they have to put on their backs and no one is as good as them. Even if they are, they're not.

It's how I feel towards most of those champions. Master Yi Yasuo Riven Vayne Rengar It's so **rare** to find one of these champions played by a person who's not socially crippled. Some of them are actually good at their champion and absolutely _can_ carry, but their attitude almost always reflects that desire. And what's worse, so does the champion's playstyle.

: Is it possible to get actual money from Riot from a good game idea?
Game Design companies generally have ideas aplenty - though that would never stop them from asking the community for more. However, ideas are just that. They're only the initial stage of development. Getting paid for an idea would be like getting paid for telling a band they should write a song about this or that. Now if you come up with an actual song and the band likes it, they may pay you for it. Hope that analogy made my point a bit clear?
: Is there for you just that one champion that you...
{{champion:107}} Played him a handful of times since Season 3, never was able to get a single successful (Rift) game out of him.
: I think you went to the wrong direction here: First of all, unless the Mundo plays extremely badly, there's no way you can kill him. He can farm extremely safely with his cleaver. What's worst? Once he completed his spirit visage, he could ran you down if you over extended. So what to do? Since there is very little chance to kill him, your focus should be: 1. Focus on farming minions - secure your gold income so you can still be useful in team fights. 2. Focus on survive - to avoid being run over by that Mundo. In this matchup, I would go for {{item:3027}} as first item. Second item will be {{item:3165}} for CDR and heal reduction. Third maybe {{item:3001}} The void staff will depends on how much magic resist the enemy team has (not specify for Mundo). Generally speaking, if 2 or more enemies had over 100 magic resist, then go for it. P.S: the current Meta (most effective tactics available) is tanks or bruiser top. I'm sure you can see why. (They are extremely effective against burst champions such as Annie). There are limited things you can do about this because this Meta thing is influenced by the strength and cost of tank items.
Thanks, this is very good advice. I'm just reflecting on that game and looking back, if I had a Rod of Ages, I probably wouldn't have died that often. I was ahead in CS even being 0/2, I had my Void Staff before the 10th minute mark, while his Spirit Visage took longer. If I had a Rod of Ages sooner, it would have prevented a few deaths. If I was in a mindset that dissuaded me from trying to find ways to beat him, but instead trying to survive before it was too late, I wouldn't have died this often. Thanks for your comment, it's taught me a lot about this and similar matchups. In response to your postscript, it's true the meta heavily favours tanks, but like I said I play in low elo - I mostly face Yasuo, Irelia, Riven, Ekko, that sort of champions. Out of the tankier champions, the more common ones are Darius, Sion and Wukong. All of these champions are rather easy to punish in the early game. At the very least I'll be able to avoid dying and at most I'll be snowballing out of control. It's also normals, where players don't tend to abide by the meta as strictly as in ranked, and more inclined to just play fun champions. At least, that's what I think, because nearly every game has a Yasuo in it, haha.

Yeah true, Sheen would be a decent buy if I'm in an awkward back at 1100 gold or something, it'll give me some more mana so I can stay in lane longer as well. I'll give it a try.
: Try {{item:3100}} too, being able to deal more damage by poking may allow you to make up for extra damage that you will need against a tank. The extra speed is good too. Against Jayce..well, what you would do against the kind of Zed and Talon? Probably buy all the armor you can. At the end of the day, that's nearly the same thing, with the difference that Jayce's ranged AA (and blasts) are a factor that a mid assassin would not have. Jayce, however, is by no way tanky like an usual toplane tank, and what's worse, his first buy will invariably be a tear or something like that. He will come back and still be squishy. You should try to snowball heavily on him, before he can get his damage items.

As someone who plays Normals and only Normals, my standpoint is that you're free to do whatever you want in normals. **As long as you try to win** Teemo ADC? Fucking go for it bro. That said, stuff like AP Garen / AP Zed is still taking it too far ahah. I guess that goes with the "try to win" clause. The META is made for ranked games, let's have fun in normals, but don't let your fun cost others the game. In a game where winning is so central to your enjoyment of the game, it makes little sense to not try to win.

Thanks for the replies guys, this is a massive help! I hadn't even thought of using youtube as a medium for sources. Definitely worth scouring that side of the web as well. Thanks again! Regarding the arguments, the main arguments are the lack of exercise - those who do not consider E-Sports a sport also don't consider Chess a sport either. The biggest motivation to argue against E-Sports is simply because they don't know what it's like, nor do they care enough to find out. Misconceptions about the entire scene, mainly.

For me it would be drinking tons of honey tea when my throat or oral airways are a bish. I take mint-steam-sessions (if that's a word, it's the most accurate description I can offer) to clean up my nasal airways. For headaches, I tend to spend a lot of time in bed with the comfort of Vivaldi or Pachelbel, comfortable soft music, and a good book in dimmed light, ready to fall asleep whenever my body asks me to. Medication wise I usually take Advil liquid caps against the headaches. I also like to take showers, it doesn't help me much but it's a form of comfort, which is rare when ill.

: Supporting ADC who don't know your champ
Best advice I can give you is to be clear on your gameplan during the wait for creeps. The initial 1.5 minute at the start is a good time window to communicate with your ADC what you expect out of him, and to ask him what he expects out of you. Remember that playing botlane is a 2 man game. A should not only conform to B, and B should not only conform to A, but both have to find a place where you are both comfortable. If you play Janna and your ADC is not comfortable playing passive, stand along your melee creeps and annoy the enemy ADC a little with your toilet paper autoattacks. Although you won't be dealing much damage, you still exert mental pressure on your opponents while showing your ADC you're willing to conform to his playstyle, while maintaining your own (meaning, you'll still be having your abilities up for peeling and disengage). Point I'm trying to make is - adapt to your ADC as well as have your ADC adapt to you.
: Can't install League on Windows 10.
Not sure if it's a similar problem, but my Launcher tends to freeze when I launch it. The big orange play button doesn't appear for a long time (nor any patching information, the blue bar, that should be under it, usually it checks). Basically it's like this - open launcher, launcher pops up, launcher freezes. Sometimes it drags my Mozilla Firefox down with it too, it'll stop responding. Takes between 40 - 60 seconds before it responds again. Client works fine. Also on Windows 10, and some additional hardware info: Nvidia GFX 660 AMD FX-8350 Octo Core 4k MHz 8 GB DDR3 RAM Edit: while launcher freezes, news doesn't load either.
: Supports that don't buy Sightstone
While the fact that Sightstone absolutely must be rushed can be debated, there's no excuse to skip it completely. I often delay my Sightstone if laning phase lasts for an extended period of time, ergo there's no tower down at 10 minutes you bet I'm finishing my Frost Queen's / Targon's before getting anywhere near Sighstone. In Targon's case, the choice between Kindlegem / Sightstone is usually where I decide. When snowballing, I tend to delay Sightstone in trade for more power as well. Get my ADC ahead enough so that he can safely lane 1v2 without losing too much and then buy Sighstone and roam. However, the power of Sighstone is so massive, I think junglers should pick it up more often as well. Having a roaming support and jungler lighting up the map, ergh feels so good. So gud.

Low elo (below diamond, arguably plat) don't know how to close games without winning a teamfight. I've seen many a games where we take 6 towers before 20 minutes and are then unable to take the base towers until the 40th or so minute after a team fight. Or where we're stomping early and the team decides to continuously go mid for 30 minutes straight, meanwhile top outer tower is still up, for instance. Another fun one is when we take mid inhib, while e.g. bot inner tower is still up and top inhib tower. What does the team do? All mid, boys.

: Yeah, I see what you mean. No clue how it would be applied but I think the idea needs to be there. Obviously one wouldn't need to know the game mechanics super in depth like knowing ranges of champs etc. but definitely need knowledge of the champions you play. I think one way maybe, rather than doing a test would simply be saying you can't use a certain champ in ranked unless you have level 4/5 mastery in it? At least that shows you either win quite a lot with the champ or you lose with them but you have played a ton of games to scrape up to top mastery so will be well experienced. I have no clue on how you would test for general game knowledge though haha

It's been rejected often enough and for good reason: It would eliminate the casual player from the ranked game. Taking myself as an example, I find myself a casual player. I get a game or two in if I feel like it, but it's been a while since I've had full day gaming marathons. I don't play every day. I divide my time between playing with my friends, my family, and the world outside (ugh, outernet). And I play other games as well. Since the mastery system was introduced, I have gained level 5 Mastery with a grand total of... 4 champions. Four. If we count level 4 mastery the number would probably range around 10. It's still not enough to play ranked (as you need 16 champions to play Ranked). Despite me not playing often (roughly 1200 games or so in 3 years), I don't think I'm bad. I think I pick up new champions rather quickly, too. I don't master them in 2 games, but my skill floor is a bit higher than my friends'. It's the same with different games. Long story short - there's too many people who simply will be excluded from Ranked because they won't have enough level 4-5 Mastery champions, and not enough time/willpower to get them there. And I would like to add to this that I don't think it's okay to exclude a feature from _**anyone**_. No matter how bad or good they are, everyone should be able to access the same content. Before bringing up how Draft Pick is only accessible to players above a certain level with a certain amount of champs, that is a learning curve for new players, which is a different topic. It's like saying players in World of Warcraft should be able to fight a 10 man raid boss after their first quest.

: Please can there be a theory test or something before being allowed to play ranked?
I would actually like to take one of those written tests out of curiosity to see how I'd fare. Honestly I usually prize myself for the game knowledge being far above my mechanical level, but I'd like to see where it _really_ is. That said, how do you measure game knowledge? With what questions can you determine that someone has enough knowledge of the game to be this or that level? I know the point of this thread is not to actually _get_ a written test, but I don't know. Sounds like fun.

Yeah, good advice. What puts me off the most is that it's either you win some and you lose some, or you lose a lot. Besides it's not like I set up camp in the side lanes, I just try to clear the wave ASAP and make sure it's pushing back and then I rejoin the group. : There's 2 situations where the Support Roaming will negatively affect your team; - When the ADC is behind and left to handle the bot-lane solo. This should never happen early game, and will most likely end with the ADC being more underfed. - When the Support tries to push lanes whilst the rest of the team are grouped. I've seen this happen several times, and it really bothers me. The Support is the last person who should attempt a split-push, and would be more beneficial grouped with the team.
> - When the Support tries to push lanes whilst the rest of the team are grouped. I've seen this happen several times, and it really bothers me. The Support is the last person who should attempt a split-push, and would be more beneficial grouped with the team. I mean, from my own experience I usually end up catching a wave in a side lane that would have otherwise crashed into the tower as Support. Simply because no one else is bothered to. Everyone's just dancing in mid for an hour and then loses the fight because they get engaged upon. Even when we're behind, this happens. Take your support being in the side lane as a hint. He's probably trying to say not to dance around in mid and focus on the sidelanes.
: I need your help with my Pokemon team
Okay well if you have a Milotic for a Special Wall and Tyranitar for a physical wall, you can set up some decent sweepers. I'd recommend using Sand Stream Tyranitar and pair that up with another ground type sweeper like Sandslash, who has the Sand Rush ability to make use of Tyranitar's ability. (Take note that it's a Hidden Ability). So to elaborate: Sandslash has a decent Attack stat but low Speed, something that Sand Rush makes up for, making it go from 65 Speed to 130 Speed, allowing it to outspeed most other sweepers. Adamant, 252 Speed, 252 Attack Earthquake Rapid Spin Rock Slide Swords Dance You'll be weak to Water, Ice and Grass types, so far your entire team is weak to Grass overall, so taking a Fire special sweeper such as Typlosion, and your only worry is going to be the Water type. Typlosion overall has fairly good stats, 100 base speed makes it slower than the fastest sweepers like Scizor and the sorts, but if you run Timid nature with 252 speed and 252 sp. atk you'll outspeed a lot. Timid, 252 Speed, 252 Sp. Atk Sunny Day (to remove Sandstorm if it's up) Flamethrower Substitute Hidden Power - Grass / Electric / Hyper Beam / Protect Well these are my suggestions. : Should skill make your champion stronger...?
From a design standpoint it makes sense. The more gap there is in power, the harder it is to balance. Are you going to balance champions around the top % of players who can play them to their full potential, or are you going to balance for the common rabble who can't draw out a champion's full potential? With champions like Ryze and Riven, Riot is always forced to make a choice between one of the two. Avoiding this choice **severely** limits your balancing options. If they balance a champion for the top % of players then the common rabble feels left out and deems the champion in question unviable. If they balance a champion for the common rabble then the top % of players pick them up and create a monster. From a player's perspective I agree that limiting the impact of skill on a champion reduces satisfaction in mastering it. It feels like anyone could just git gud at them if they play more than 5 games on them. And that might even be right. It's now less rewarding to be good at a champion. There are less ways to show off how much you've invested in learning it. _There's less meaning in being good at a champion._ Riot is choosing balance over satisfaction, and in the long run I'd personally prefer the former.
