: The meta doesn't mean much, really. I played Nautilus top back when people thought he could only jungle, it worked like a charm. Ever since I've been trying a lot of "meta" junglers top and many work well (Trundle, Nautilus, Warwick, Vi to a lesser extent, ...) Many of these champions you will likely never see in the top lane except maybe a guy like me playing them. You'll see it once every 50 games or so. They're vastly out of the meta but I couldn't care less, because I make them work. The meta only matters at all when you're new to the game, or new to a role. If you blindly follow the meta you will likely never find your own playstyle, the one you'll have the most fun with. My preferred playstyle would be something I like to call "Brawler". Something of being a Juggernaut before Juggernauts existed. I picked it up in Season 2-3, when I started maining top. The idea is to have fights over everything, from level 1 onwards, start with Cloth 5 and just fight, fight, fight. Wards, CS, bushes, roams, you name it and I'll fight you over it. At the time, this was the meta. Top Lane was a _constant_ slugfest. Now it's gone out of meta and hasn't come back, and I miss it dearly. Since that time, Top Lane's meta has gone from carries to tanks to bruisers to Tanksassins, and yet I have never changed my playstyle. You know why? Because when you create your own playstyle, the meta doesn't matter anymore. Because nobody's better at the game that you invented. Make your own meta. It's worth it.
I have already found my playstyle some time ago. And these 4 adc's fit them i think, mostly vayne and kalista i am really choosing between them. But i want to know people's opinions on them all. You could call my playstyle something like a Duelist (from what i see me doing in a game). So what do you recommend me? I play: Azir, Lee sin, Nidalee, Lucian, Graves, Yasuo. Thanks for the long reply btw :)

Thats kinda my playstyle all my best champions have some sort of mobility. Lee sin, nidalee, azir, lucian, ekko, but maybe im going to pick him up sometime :) thanks for your reply. No worries :P But it's always handy to experiment with everything in the marksmen line if you intend to ADC alot in the future :P Sometimes having the fastest won't always mean they're the best choice. He's also one of the very few champions that serves as a seriously direct counter to Draven.
I will surely play him some more when he is in free week :). But he doesnt fit my playstyle right now, of course doesnt mean i wont play him. Thanks for the suggestion!
: I never play meta champs much, since they're bound to change at every new patch/update. I'd recommend playing Varus if you want to seek a challenge. AS passive that changes depending if you kill a minion / champion. High poke range through his Q, a passive that stacks up to 3 times, and once you pop them with an ability you'll do extra damage. An AoE slow that applies grievous wounds, and an ult utility that roots and can spread to other enemies if they're within range, rooting them too. Fuck all mobility just to make sure he isn't OP as fuck. He's actually quite well balanced for a champion. If built right, he can and will contest with hyper-carries damage wise if played right. However, like Vayne he's easy to play but very difficult to master. I've got 180k in him and even I still make mistakes with him, whether it's positioning or timing an ability, etc. He's very fickle, but satisfying to play once you get him down.
I actually almost only play mobile champions. Thats kinda my playstyle all my best champions have some sort of mobility. Lee sin, nidalee, azir, lucian, ekko, but maybe im going to pick him up sometime :) thanks for your reply.
: Meta changes all the time, it's not really the best to rely on the actual meta.
Im not exactly trying to rely on the meta. These 4 champions look fun to me but i want to know how they are in this meta. And the last tank meta took half a season. Besides i still have my current adc picks.
Grips (EUW)
: Vayne is the best for tearing through them, Kalista is good at getting through them it just takes longer because she needs to stack E's, but she can kite very efficiently. Jinx is okay, not that great and I personally hate Caitlyn and think she sucks, but to be honest she's not too bad, just falls off compared to the others late.

: If you're absolutely desperate for a dash, try Ezreal - I don't like his current pokey kitey style and still build him TriForce & Essence Reaver for tons of damage. Not as effective as it used to be, but still the way Ezreal is meant to be played imo :D Otherwise, Twitch is so much fun to play, and Sivir is the ultimate in no-skill ADCs - press W and right click to clear a wave, press W and shoot the tank to kill the enemy ADC. If you want a kind of middle ground, there's always Jhin - he doesn't have a dash, but he has range and a MS boost which keep him safer than any Lucian can ever be. And he's really fun to play :D
So 2 things :). I dont really like ezreal because he indeed is a little too pokey. And second, i like to play hard champions since i get really bored with straight forward champions. And i dont know how jhin feels but he looks just too slow for my fast pace playstyle.

: well as you see. i am refering to a post of meddler .. an official riot employee ... these subclasses are not strict but .. it is to get an idea about which characters is being talked ... don't get it wrong id shouldn't be an offense .. but if i have to choose between a classification of a riot employee or a "random player" ... i'd stick to the official one ... It is not that he is wrong in what he does but ... well "official stuff" most times fit better to the game :-D
Then what are the champions that fit light fighter and diver or a combination between? And you dont have to choose between the posts you can search for answers in both posts. Thanks for your replies btw :)
Anraton (EUW)
: well according to this classification, you like to play light fighters and divers take a look at champions with the assasine primary or secondary role ... Thats a good point to start.
Then what are the champions that fit my subclass? I agree that my subclass is a combination between light fighter and diver. But i am a duelist too. Duelist - These fighters excel in 1v1 fights. Unlike Assassins, however, they have the tools to retaliate or excel against enemies who attempt to fight back. In teamfights, they try to pull someone into a 1v1, away from most of the chaos, or otherwise pick on one target at a time. (

Olucaron (EUNE)
: No CC? Pretty sure his cleaver slows, and because it's % damage you can bully the squishy into backing off or playing more cautiously = free farm. His W with Sunfire's often can cause a squishy in botlane to back off as it's too much damage for them to take (even with a healer support, they would just burn mana too quickly), meaning you again have free farm. Plus, ALL THE HEALTH, you can't kill him, not even with something like Lord Dominik's because of his regen and ult.
Exactly what i just said. He is unkillable, but doesnt do anything else for the adc than that. And 1 soft cc abilty isnt all that newsbreaking.
: Shameless sell out cough cough If you like Lucian, Corki and ezreal you probably want to stay in the mobile-ish ADC's. So possibly Caitlyn, Tristana and Vayne would be something for you ^^
Thanks for the tip :) i will probably buy cait. I was already interested in her.

Sure he is unkillable. But what does he add to you lane? And what does he do for your adc other than just tanking damage. He doesnt have any cc or utility. Thats what i mean, supports like braum or thresh give something that makes your lane and teamfight better. Mundo just doesnt die, but how does that help your adc?
LegendCZ (EUNE)
: Offensive i mean like who build most of DMG then armor and so on like Naut you know? :) Also youre not alone pal. Also you see how hated for this i am xD
Ahh, like that. You shouldn't say it like that because people (me too) think you mean that janna is a aggressive support. And most people instantly dislike you when you say that xD. But i get your point.
Iskierka (EUW)
: Well if I were the adc I d still be pissed if someone would play a teemo support. And let s be honest here most of these picks happen because ppl dont want to play supp but rather a damage dealer. Not because they thought a new fun way to break the meta. Plus Support often enough get s the least amount of gold so building a n expensive damage build will make you get behind everyone. Or you can steal kills and farm... Guess who s behind then. Plus most adcs need a support with shields and heals (at least in lower elo) to get a decent amount of sustain in lane. When you have assasins in the enemy team a supp must peel for the adc can you imagine a lb peel? BTW I m a supp main so I know what I m talking about.
This one gets what im trying to say. Thank you xD But the problem is. You need to pick 2 roles you want to play. Then how come people pick support when they dont want to play it. And if you only play one role you first of all need to learn to play more. Second of all why do you pick support then.

A lot of people refuse to play support. But what is it with these people who pick champions like anivia and ahri as a support? > > It's not like you dont know how to play support because you picked it as your first or second role. I have had such weird support picks now and we mostly lose because we have 1 sort of troll or we win but not because we have such a great support. > > I have played with ahri, mundo, anivia, leblanc, teemo, orianna, even yasuo support. And im really tired of seeing these people while i think there are really fun supports. > {{item:3070}} You are closed minded, what do you think a support's role is? I'll tell you so there is no need to ask. To support the main in lane to gain an advantage over thier lane opponents and the vantage can be anything, deny CS, poke, heal, speed boost, shield, stun, slows, block incoming damage, silence etc.
You are completely right. Yes the lane is fair/good. But in teamfighting, something like a lb support adds nothing. She has no farm and only some assists. She doesnt do damage and the only utility she brings is her e and r (e). And i dont mind those supports once in a while. But its too much now. 7/10 games in with these kind of supports.
: You are so right. Some months ago i get a {{champion:63}} support. Everyone know that {{champion:63}} is trash tier, no to mention as support. Oh wait
i really have no problem with brand support man. I like brand support but i do have a problem with full kill mode supports who have no meaning for the team.
LegendCZ (EUNE)
: "valid support" ... I HATE WHEN I FINALY PICK ADC AND LUX OR MORGANA ARE SUPPORTS! ... Its littelary so frustrating! If you want ofensive support Sona or Janna, If you want defensive Alistar, Tahm, Braum, Nautilus if you want mixed LULU, Thresh ... Seriously stop trying to pick champs which CAN DO NOTHING to carry you as an ADC. It is frustrating. That's why i main support and if the ADC is at last decent i always win a lane againts these abominations.
Well i think janna is one of the most defensive supports and nautilus one of the most aggressive. And as i dont have a problem with morgana or lux support i do think that some people should just stick to the normal supports. Especially in ranked. I dont really mind it too much in normals as long as the adc is fine with it. But im seeing it too much atm.
MonstaX (EUNE)
: Yasuo and kalista i have seen it work.Ahri support also works as well does anivia and ori.
It can work thats true. But its nothing like a normal support like braum or nami. And most of these people are just trying to get as many kills possible instead of just playing the lane like you normally do. Of course there are premades and other exceptions that play it well. But im talking about solo players and people who dont play the champion well at all.

This is very true. (Apart from that, there a numerous YouTube videos out there around the topic). I also tried everything, but my personal outcome was a bit different: I felt I am not a "killer", which I guess is/was owed to lack of mechanics. Which led to me maining support ATM in ranked games. I have got quite good at support. The effect is that I don't need to lasthit that much (where I am not good at), and it still develops your mechanical skills while you get better protecting your ADC. In general, getting better in mechanics IMO transforms to other champs as well. Meanwhile I can play also ADC, having a decent farm and sometimes even outfarm my opponent. On solo lanews I can keep up with farm while not dying too much - which comes from supporting, where staying alive is the hardest thing to do. So, yes, I'd also say play what you feel like. And if you are unsatisfied / not "successful", try something else. Developing the mechanics and awareness can be done with any champ. Some chamos require more of the one or the other, and that is why they could feel hard to play.
Thanks for the reply, ill just keep trying out lanes and champions till i find what kind of player i am.
Enjutsu (EUNE)
: It's not something for others to decide or find,. Pick something, which you're good at. Looking at your ranked stats, you were pretty good with braum, so i'd suggest to stick with it, on evrything else you're really bad or don't have enough games to decide.
Well i dont play ranked so that could be the case. I played those games in the beginning of the season when i was duo q with an adc. But thanks for the reply, youre right ill just try and practise. Then stick with what im good at.

: Kalista is hard to play, you should look more for fun and easy if so. I though Yasuo is cool and easy, but is not, and I regret that I spend 6300 on him, not worth. Buy a champ that you can enjoy even with 0/5 I say Tresh, thou I never played him, but as a support he can get some kills too.
I have more fun with hard to play champions, i hate to play easy champions.
: 3/4 of those champions require alot of skill imo.. thresh :)
I love hard to play champions. All my favourite champions have high skillcaps :D

My team comp is mostly based around the midlaner. > Top: malphite / mundo / wukong > Jung: tanky cc like amumu / seju > Mid: viktor / azir or zed / yasuo (we have 2 midlaners) > ADC: mostly lucian > supp: ? Creating a synergized comp: Wukong, Zed, Lucian, Leona, Amumu. (Ban Janna, Morgana, Shen) ^ Engage comp Pros: Counters a squishy champion pool with weak disengage (Poke comps). Cons: Gets countered heavy by siege comps. Another example would be: Braum, Lucian, Mundo, Azir, Sejuani. (Ban Anivia, Gangplank, Soraka) ^ Siege comp with poke & controll (Would be alot better with Janna & Tristana). Pros: Amazing sieging controll for taking towers, dragons, barons while being safe. Cons: Gets countered pretty hard by poke comps with 1 split pusher & wave clear. ^ example counter: Anivia/Vel'koz, Gragas, Varus, Tryndamere(yes), Morgana. There are so many factors to take into concideration during the crafting of a team comp what counters what etc statisticly speaking. What I reccommend for your team is to create 1 team comp based on what everyone plays while everything synergizes with each other & just stick to that with 1-2 flex picks at most. I would most definitely pick up Janna & Leona/Braum and maybe a Bard if you can learn it (if not just forget about it).
Well i already decided to buy bard :p i have him almost level 4 only playing him in free weeks. And i have been a braum main by the way. I really love to play bard and he fits me quite nice so thanks for the reply!

I guess great solo queue supports are different from great ranked 5v5 supports. We play around gold elo. I like to play tanky supports or supports who can provide good utility and shields. Such as braum/thresh or lulu/nami. But i dont like champions like soraka or janna who are too passive for my playstyle. > > So give me a top 3 of best supports for ranked 5v5. It heavily depends on team compositions. Picking up shen as flex pick can be really good for your team. On the other side Janna is amazing in poke & siege comps. Leona is great all around atm. Bard is amazing on global comps. Braum is good with a bot lane like tristana or lucian for the death combo. I would stay far away from lulu support. But as a top 3 I would recommend having 3 supports with different playstyles (fitting into different compositions). Bard: Global comp. Leona: Engage comp. Janna: Poke/Siege comp. Depends completely on what the rest of your team plays tbh.
alright, thanks for your reply! My team comp is mostly based around the midlaner. Top: malphite / mundo / wukong Jung: tanky cc like amumu / seju Mid: viktor / azir or zed / yasuo (we have 2 midlaners) ADC: mostly lucian supp: ?

Xevestos (EUW)
: But u don't have 2000 games on hinm, have you! (; xD
true, but i mean that i dont need to buy him anymore.
Xevestos (EUW)
: Yasuo is my safe piclk, stomped a jax last game in d5 sucker elo. I don't habe great stats with him because I like to firstpicl him but 58% winrate is pretty ok. I have 2000 normals with him, so loads of experience. But this meta favors him more then s5, so he is a good pick top and mid if you know what u are doing. Weaknesses: Can be easily bursted, weak when getting camped. Weak early when beginner. Many hardcounters Strengths: great scaling, neat armor pen on ulti, high dmg and mobility, blocking projectiles, an "assasin" with hard cc, strong early when mastered, team sinergy (also is a good carry when the team doesnt have knockups if mastered) good splitpusher, outplay potential (is good but even greater with minions around), As u get better the weaknesses aren't much, but still something you have to be aware off. Go exhaust vs bruisers/fighters, also against bursters that aren't easily outplayed(like assasins). Against mages ignite. And always flash. My build is: 1. Phantom Dancer (Shiv burst for early got nerfed and doesn't have avarice blade for gold advantage anymore, pd gives great duel potential and good mobility to catch up for that last deadly e. + you kinda dont need extra waveclear) 2. Infinity edge (A no brainer, with this and pd/shiv you cap out crit at 100% and gives good ad.) 3. Berserker greaves (mobility and more ats, you should get Tier 1boots somewhere between pd and ie, in certain situations it's worth switching for mercs or tabis. Or when taking botrk) 4. Bloodthirster (bt gives good ad, your dmg is autos and q so the lifesteal realy scales good with you. The shield gives u more effective health when starting fights, the lifesteal makes you one of the most deadly duelers. Consider getting vamp scepter between pd and ie if sustain is needed, pretty easy to get since you mostly start with long sword) 5. Defensive item ( depending on the situation, thornmail, randuins, deadmans, banshees, merc scimitar, maw can be realy good, by this point you habe enough dmg to 2shot squishies and now you need defensives to survive teamfights or duels with these pesky bruisers) 6. Semi off-deff/amor pen/defensive item (now u surely want to take maw or merc, if not needed or too useful, get more defensive it's 50/50 as u dont need dmg in particular. Against a team with 2-3 tanks get an armor pen item. Consider switching bt with botrk for better duelling with tanks, bt still is mostly better.) There are many tricks on yasuo you can learn, if you are dedicated he will be one of the strongest champs around. This is just my opinion, everyone that feels different feel free to talk to me about it.
I already have yasuo :p, got him lvl 5 too.

: Btw Godtier atm is: Elise, Rek'Sai, Elise, Gragas, Lee Sin (only played really well), Nidalee (watch Lee) The thing is tho, Zac and J4 are right behind those. And reading your description of what you want, I'd say J4 tbh. Very strong early ganks, (Rek'Sai's burrow is very slow if the enemy is not overextending, J4 EQ can almost always gank, if not, EQ R at lvl 6 does the trick 99%) and very good teamfight aswell. Rek'Sai is more about map-pressure and objective pressure, not direct ganks and direct impact, more like farm up and counterplay when needed. Zac is meh atm in my opinion, but that's just an opinion. {{champion:59}} Edit: Well, dunno how the S6 jgl will roll out anyways, so you could also wait til u see what the new toppicks in the new jgl are?
I play Lee sin, rengar and nidalee now. I have Elise, tried her out many times but she just doesnt fit me. I just cant make her work.
Allisrem2 (EUW)
: But we're talking about SoloQ, DuoQ or lower Elo here, right? Yeah, in high-Elo teamranked or tournaments, champions like Zac or Tahm Kench (jgl) can be very powerful. Without proper coordination, I cannot see them over a carrying Nidalee or Lee. I agree, if your team plays really well with you and you build for a strong composition / team tactic, Zac can be a beast. But just on his own, meh.
I mostly play ranked 5v5, arround gold elo. Since im their Jungler in need something more teamfight & pressesure like. My most played junglers are/were Lee sin, rengar and nidalee Also i like some hard to play/master champs. I like champs who i can play a lot to get Good at them and make more impact.
