: No disruption in 3 years, gets 14d banned for saying n-word
I figured I will kind of give a statement, since this post really has blown up. I do not engage in any racist activity, as calling someone the n-word isn't racist to me, as it also can be used to describe a close friend, mainly by people who are from ethnic circles (if you get what I mean). I see why Riot and their system has banned me and absolutely understand that the word I used (3 times in 20 messages by the way) can be seen as incredibly offensive and rude. ALTHOUGH, I do not agree with the ban itself at all. Chatting with people who say "Can't smell that you're black" or something like that is, in my opinion, WAY worse than saying something like the n-word on its own and still people think I've just went up to someone and said it straight to their face irl. (People compared it to murder even?) Also, for a first time offensive in 3 years I think that 14 days is incredibly high, as a Chat restriction (for either 10 or 25 games) would have been fair and reasonable in my opinion. I wrote that I don't think chatting should be bannable, which is something very debatable on it's own, since people getting banned when chat logs are being read without any context and stuff like this is just unnecessary. Also, if you don't like what somebody is saying, you can just mute them, so what is the problem with being negative in chat? You can't be positive all the time and everybody who says this is straight up lying, this isn't a storybook where everything is fine and the world is great. As said by Riot in the ban description, it gets really steamed up in the chat sometimes, especially when people disagree with each other. But the best thing: Trollers don't get punished, unless Diamond or above. I've noticed this, soft inting or trolling doesn't get punished at all, wether ranked or normal. Example: Quinn in our team decides to go up toplane, straight walks into Nasus without autoattacking and then tells my premade toplaner to "not bm in chat", because he said that she has to stop feeding please and play safe. She got reported at least 4 times in this game, as we were a 4 man stack. She was not punished, as the notice didn't came up. So am I seeing this right? I can soft int, troll, lose people games and do even worse things, but saying something in chat just isn't something you can block off? I fairly cannot turn my teammate of to feed, so what's with that? At the end of the day, I'm banned 'til 15th August and there is no way around instead of waiting and swallowing it down. I appreciate every comment on this post, even though I do not agree with some of them. Have a good one, KévKa. PS: I have also seen a stream of IWillDominate (which was today I think), in which he says that he enabled the profanity filter, just so he can't see when people write the n-word, which I thought was hilarious, but probably because of Twitch's guidelines.
: Everything I just read felt like sht coming out of a animals butt. You thing is banter "haha you suck", and another thing is using a racist word. A perfect example: One thing is "i hate you", another thing is "go die in a furnace, you non-christian". See the damn difference? If you dont, then you have a serious problem. Like Febos said, Anything that is **racist, hate towards the LGTB, or sexism** is not tolerated, and the robot will punish you for it. ___ Getting a damn 14 day suspension is more than "one report gets me punished" hell no, you´ve been reported multiple times for showing unwanted behavior, and you have freaking ignored it. Just because you have an account doesn´t mean its your and you can do whatever the hell you want. In League of Legends, or in any other online video game community, you have to respect the damn rules. You clearly havent, and as a result you are coming here claming that the system is too harsh for doing it´s job. I have played League since 2013, and recieved an 14 day ban suspension the first month. I was being a jerk in the game without knowing it. I started following the rules and my account is still here. And just to let you know, I was banned for using "baby insults", what is NOW considered playful competitive banter. ___ Offensive IS an open term, but you and I know you have to be stupid to not know the difference between being a jerk and being an absolute racist. Its people like you who dont have a damn filter that give a negative image to online gaming communities. If you want more proof of how being offensive can be different. I am being an @ss to you, but my behavior towards you right now is well within the limits of League of legends.
> Everything I just read felt like sht coming out of a animals butt. Okay then, so this is absolutely okay? You insulted me without knowing any backstory? You even "censored" the bad word, so it doesn't get detected by the system, which is think should ALSO be bannable, but that's just my oppinion I guess, since the system is ultra smart, gotcha! You are getting banned within the first month of your play (with the old system in play, which also was completely garbo and didn't detect anything) and you are telling me that I'm so bad for using a racial slur, that is not even meant to insult others and other people who are black also say all the time, it is completely fine? The n-word, in particular circles, should be considered as offensive as the word "dawg". A 14 day ban in season 3 was almost impossible to achieve and you're telling me that I am the worst. It is just funny how this post is: a) White knights who think the word is completely negative and should not be used in any way since this is INCREDIBLY racist in their eyes, b) people making fun of me for getting banned in such a way or c) people saying the system isn't effective.
: What`s most ironic is that you are probably one of those people that supported the system (until now) when other people cried on forums, thinking to yourself that it will never happen to you cause you are not a flamer. Well don't worry soon you will be permaban for saying gg cause now you are on their radar and you can`t escape.
I do not think the system is effective, nor have I ever thought it is. In addition, I rarely even use the forums, but for this I just had to. The second part although is true. You get targeted by the system after being restricted, as several people I know got the same treatment.

You can use banter/trash talk without being offensive. The "n-word", as you put it, is picked up by the "zero tolerance" system. It essentially does what it says on the tin: **zero tolerance**... regarding racism, xenophobia, sexism, and all that nasty stuff. As you can imagine, the word you used counts as "racism", even if not directed at anyone. You can always appeal your restriction to [Riot Support](, but I wouldn't have my hopes high in your position.
“offensive“ is just such an open word. Everything CAN be offensive, doesn’t mean it unnecessarily HAS to be. Also, I get that the word is being picked up by automation processes, what I don’t think is an effective way, as also people have been falsely banned because of this. Rather or not this ban is rightful, for an automated, first time in 3 years punishment, a 14 day ban is just too harsh imo. And ”we as the community“ is something I love. Did we get a poll? It is said to be the community’s choice, but is it really? I frankly couldn’t care less if people write things to me, because I can just mute them. They are just words from a person I have never seen or will ever see over the internet. Also for me, banter is always a bit aggressive, either passive or active, but I guess it’s a question of definition. My teammates frankly didn’t care either, so why ban me just for saying a word the system doesn’t like? But as always, the system wins, no matter wha you do.
: If you murder someone you also dont get a pass because you were law abiding the last 10 years
Actually, you do. If you have broken the law before, the penalty will be higher. But I kind of get your point.

I also got these problems... Im not a flamer who says "REPORT NUB", but its kinda annoying when people say "Im AFK, this game is so sh*t", but i can understand if they have to go for reasons like their grandfather is dying or that kind of things...

: I imagine so, once it's fixed. I don't work for Rito so I can't say for sure, but I imagine they're just ironing out the kinks and they'll enable it again soon.
Thanks for your reply! :D

: They had to disable it 'cause it wasn't working correctly. It was giving the IP bonus and the person who bought the boost got a skin, but none of your teammates got a skin.
Okay, do they add it again in a few days?
