because the game is reliant on teamwork and doesn't provide outplay potential like most other competitive games.
True Sight (EUNE)
: "My teams are bad, I can't climb"
Entirely high elo dogma, not everyone is as good as you and this game doesn't provide options to play better than the enemy like street fighter or tekken, the game is too reliant on teamwork to learn as an individual outside of the laning phase.

I'm personally bisexual and all i've got to say is sticks and stones may break your bones but words wont ever hurt you so man the %%%% up.

Local pitch .?. THAT is the kind of competitive level you have in mind .?. Sure Bronze Elo in LoL is like Conference league in the UK, but those two are not the first thing that springs to mind when the word "competitive" is being mentioned. > 3rd "argument": Not an argument, and that's not how i am, you're too busy jumping to conclusions on what i'm like as a person over my criticism of a rule just as broad as the youtube community guidelines. Who told you that I am refering to you .?. if you belong to the category of people that cannot self-reflect and criticize their own self and accept defeat, that is for you to assess. But if you ARE, then you have by definition less mental stamina and fortitute (or "guts") than the average person that simply doesn't like to be flamed when trying to have fun. Simple as that ...
of course when its a competitive game only the professionals matter and not the people, the majority, that play the game too. riot seems to have the same mentality as well when it comes to balance changes and especially assassins.

The problem is, how exactly are we supposed to trust you to adhere to that principle when you open up this thread preemptively hurling derogatory remarks? Especially now that you've also posted eye-rollingly elitist nonsense like this: > Have yet to find someone who's willing to actually challenge my points or even get past the disclaimer. > gasp could it be that nobody can actually make any legitimate points other than to nitpick over a certain word because in the end i'm right? Suffice to say, even _ignoring_ the snowflake malarkey (regardless of the fact that no, it _wasn't_ the only thing people were talking about, so nice strawman there), you don't come off as a particularly nuanced individual. You don't present yourself to this public forum as someone who wants a discussion on their opinion piece - you, intentionally or not, presented yourself as yet another toxic player who's bitter at the way Riot does things because they're upset that their attitude is the kind of attitude the system was meant to target. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, and I'm not trying to say that's exactly what happened here, but with the way you went about opening up this particular dialogue, the reality of this is that you poisoned the well before anyone had a chance to take a swig. This isn't a case of you, "being right in the end" or us, "nitpicking over a certain word" - this is, "a terrible first impression resulting in you blending in with the same bitter, childish, buzzword-laden conspiracy theorist jabbering that we on this forum get on a more-than-weekly basis". You don't come off as if you want a discussion or criticism, you come off as if you want nothing but agreement. Big shocker, I know, but first impressions and presentation actually matter.
maybe because at the time i made the comment nobody was willing to make an actual argument opposing my point.

if i remember correctly it was in the client where it said somewhere along the lines of "those who do well will rank up faster so be chill and play to win" or something like that, so those who dont do well rank up slower? being punished through honour for not doing well?
: If losing a lane was punishable, sure Riot would be creating this mentality. But since you will never get banned for losing your lane just because your opponent was better, it's not Riot's fault if people think that way.
its not youtube's fault that people are getting demonetised because they're under affect of their super broad community guidelines.

And you can forbid people from posting how exactly .?. > Because this is a competitive game and an E-Sport, players will take this game and the matches seriously and blah blah blah and blah and blah and blah ... aren't you people tired of this inane excuse .?. There so many REAL sports that are compatitive and MILLIONS of euro are being spent on them, but you do not see teammates and opponents behave like the bad-mannered people over online games do you .?. Nope. Is football suddenly less competitive or less a sport than LoL .?. Spare us. Of course it is not. Why do people behave in REAL sports, normally, even if they are competive .?. Because PROFESSIONALS and ACTUALLY COMPETITIVE people understand the simple truth : YOU NEED TO BE FOCUSED ON YOUR WORK AND YOUR TEAM and you need to be CALM to stay focused. It is simple like that ... keep deluding yourselves that you are "on edge" because you are "competitive" ... nope, you are just bad mannered ... > So the snowflake is your typical thin-skinned child-minded player who gets upset over the most mundane of comments either towards them or another player's mistakes. These people were brought up in a cottled millennial environment their entire lives and cannot handle any forms or criticism or anything deviant from a politically correct environment. Who is the biggest snowflake, someone who cannot bear criticism, or someone who cannot bear defeat and accept his own mistakes .?. No need to answer that, it is a rhetorical question ;)
1st agument: i was asking for legitimate criticism not just crybabies in the comments without any point to push 2nd argument: go to a british football tournament or just watch the chav's at your local football pitch, and i'm bad manners for losing lane and getting reported by a couple of snowflakes who cant bare it. 3rd "argument": Not an argument, and that's not how i am, you're too busy jumping to conclusions on what i'm like as a person over my criticism of a rule just as broad as the youtube community guidelines.
: What you are saying is a fallacy also know as _petitio principii_. I won't accept that as a proper argument.
if the rules weren't going the way they wanted then why do they not change it, the problem is that the rule is too vague and broad (see youtube guidelines as an example)

i didnt say drop an entire level, honours give you bonus towards your next level, reports take points away but they wont actually demote you.
ExpStealer (EUNE)
: League of Legends is a competitive esport. True. People get frustrated - also true. Now I get why someone would tilt and start flaming and whatever if they are losing a ranked game. We're all human and we have emotions. Problem is you can't just run around calling people names and insulting them just because you can and just because you're upset. Besides what exactly are your arguments as to how Riot's attempt to keep in-game chat and behavior **civil** is firing back at them and the community, making it more toxic?
its more the fact that the anti toxicity rules are too strict that they have created a platform for toxic players to abuse the report system due to how broad the requirements are
ExpStealer (EUNE)
: It's not Riot's fault obviously. I'm just guessing he's someone banned many times after insulting people and anybody who says they're insulted immediately turns into a "snowflake". And now he's trying to find an excuse to throw the ball of blame into someone else's hands (in this case - Riot) and try to make himself look innocent, even a victim if possible. P.S.: On a sidenote - reading his two comments (that aren't answers to others) he seems like the real-life Draven, sort of :D
i've only been banned once and i know what i did wrong but that's not what i have a problem with, its the teammates going all babyrage in chat over someone losing lane and reporting them, keeping them from leveling up their honour.
Shiwah (EUW)

Because reports lower your honour level so if you lose somewhat often then don't ever expect to rank up.
True Sight (EUNE)
: No point in wasting my time to do so :/
probably because you don't actually have a counter argument and probably take part in such actions yourself.
: > tl;dr Riot's anti toxicity rules makes the game and it's community MORE toxic than it does going round solving any problems, because they obviously care more to foster thin-skinned snowflakes than to actually tackle community issues so no wonder that league of legends is regarded as one of the most toxic communities in existance. It's nice that you created categories of League players, if they actually are like that is a different matter, but how does that conclude, that Riots approach to toxicity worsens the situation? They don't cater to anyone, but simply demand that people follow the rules.
the anti toxicity rule creates this "omg report him" mentality over anything as simple as even losing lane.

yeah its called smurfing and the team honouring you for being good.

honour hell is theorised to be only curable by an honour reset which is theorised to take place every year, you'd just have to put up with it because why should you see your own progress?

just because some novel said a word one time doesn't mean they own that word. this has nothing to do with some novel nobody cares about. and so far nobody has gotten past the first sentence without jumping to conclusions and to the comments section.
