: > he got that buff because he loses LITERALLY every matchup and you can't have a champion balanced around farming for 25 minutes when game is decided after 10 and now we have a champion balanced around farming for 15 minutes so he can be an unkillable tank assassin monster.. that was the worst kind of lazy buff they could give him he will probably be reverted and the champion needs a rework moreover the fact he loses against another broken tank buster such as fiora doesn't make him less unbalanced
i fully agree that he needs a rework, but my point is he needed that buff. that buff is a rubberband to allow him to survive. it does not fix the issues he has, he still loses hard to every matchup toplane, aside from maybe a tank or two
: They buffed Nasus?
ok, real talk, ive been a nasus player in season 6-7 and can tell you why. nasus NEEDS this buff to be even a bit viable, because games snowball out of control too early. nasus kit was originally built towards stacking for 25-30 minutes, but nowadays lane can be over for him in less than 10. with the removal of banner, going lane push nasus w/klepto isnt good, especially with doran rigns not stacking, so to prevent him from dying out (and let's be real here, any champion completely dying out is no good for riot) they needed to give him a buff. he already lost pretty much any matchup in toplane (aside from tanks, and even then he hardly has counterplay aside from splitting all game). the changes to his r where it gives him armor/mr instead of ad were kinda bad (i liked the cdr on his q tho and extra range), but for a champion that already builds full tank getting extra 50-100 armor and mr OVER 15 SECONDS just isnt good for him. if you think nasus is strong, try playing him into ANY champion that takes conquerer, and if you really want to feel useless they take ignite aswell. play into kled, renekton, fiora etc and youll feel how bad his state really is. tl;dr he got that buff because he loses LITERALLY every matchup and you can't have a champion balanced around farming for 25 minutes when game is decided after 10

: Yes, but it doesn't work either. I swear there was a system in place for that right? Or am I thinking of another game.
there used to be one in fact, a few weeks ago when there was another issue i got a loss prevented game in a NORMAL game, where my team werent affected by it, but now that 3 or 4 of my teammates were affected by it in a ranked game, nothing

: lol nice try rito
i got my smurf to gold without spending a cent on it, but sure keep blaming rito for your shortcomings. im not saying riot is good, but their matchmaking system is fair at the very least. the one thing i might agree on is that in your promos you will get mostly worse teams. reason being, in my opinion, is that if you want to climb you need to prove youre better but even that to a degree. and even challenger players can't win 100% of their games, even in bronze. a few years ago, riot decided that their direction is to make the game a team game, and less of a personal snowball game. to quote them in an interview with scarra "Would you rather see skt win every world championship, or see faker carry every championship?" now if you don't understand that question, it indicates quite a lot about your understanding of the game, but whatever. point is, in a team based game, if 2 people WANT to lose, they are most likely to lose. and i have seen that video too, and have a few points about it: 1. he played darius, a champion he does not know how to play (he is a tryndamere otp) 2. he did not try to make his team win - he tried to carry on his own - a mentality that make you statistically lose more games. furthermore, he was happy when he saw one guy on his team inting, he said that will make the game more challenging. 3. he did a bad build to do more damage, but was way squishier. that might relate to my first point, but im just using it as an example to show that he had a lot of options to win the game 4. he may have lost that game, but you can bet your ass he wasnt stuck in bronze. even smurfs doing climbs to challenger sometimes have a defeat in bronze. point is looking at the bigger picture. if he really wanted to win that game, he most likely would have. he was "asleep" for too long, and the enemy team won the game. tl;dr get good and carry. get a good mentality and play your strenght. you might still lose from time to time, but if you win more than you lose, in the long run you will climb.

yes, but even though the cooldown is lower, if enemy team has an akali you can always pick an aoe mage/assassin and while akali is invisible you can kill him. the ability cooldown may be lower, but if you play this right it should work. also, am i the only one thinking about duskblade teemo?
: because once the target of the tower leaves it's attack range/dies it resets. so once the champion tanking the tower leaves the tower range it thinks :is there a champion attacking my champion? no? ok i can attack minions now. it also resets once a nearby champion is attacked. you should go learn tower aggro decisions, it could help you climb quite a lot, especially at the mmr you are at. this is the difference between high gold all the way to medium plat as far as i noticed. once i mastered it i climbed quite quickly to plat 2
then i dropped because i was bad, but ill try hitting plat 3 again before season ends

i find it hard to believe, just a little. i doubt your normal mmr is gold+ when in ranked your mmr is bronze. ranked is where you play to win, play your best roles and picks (especially with the dynamic queue) and supposed to be at the peak of your skill

I usually build myself more defensively as I play adc, but when I'm a mage player it's pretty much the same build. Howecver, quite a lot of times, I go RoA into Rylay as I find the tiny slow quite helpful and even when spamming my abilities, RoA seems to give enough sustain to last through short teamfights as well as be able to kite in longer teamfights andRylai helps a lot in kiting part, especially with very low cd on q. I dont use 12/18/0 masteries tho. I use magic pen and deathfire touch, but thats because I play rather pokey in lane in general. so nothing to change there either._ so yhea, try Rylais {{item:3116}} and see if it helps you kite when you happen to be in a bit worse position than usual.
hmm... i always played veigar as a nuker, but this just might work. i just gotta try it a few times to try when i put it in. i played with the thunderlords but deathfire might be good too due to constant poke. im gonna give it a few shots. poke mage with a lot of sustain veigar sounds good. always took torment for that little penetration but rylais does sound like a solid advice
: I'm A Little Sick Of Seeing Champ Winrates Being Used As The ONLY Gauge For Balance.
zed is not an example. there is a reason his ban rate is over 80%, right after they nerfed qss. when a champ has a really high ban rate there is usually a reason for that
: Who's the jungler, what are the enemies, what champion are you playing, is there any objective your team could take? You need to ask these questions. Also, if you're playing a tank like Malphite, you don't need to get CS, especially not kills, all you need is to take XP, build full tank and use your ult. It's literally the worst idea for the jungler to try to help a lane that's so behind and doesn't scale with gold. This is practically the classic {{champion:27}} strat, keep as many enemies on your ass as long as you can even if you're 0/15 because your team can get every objective and by getting camped you make the game 4v3 or even 4v2 in favor of your team. And this is the mentality that separates low and high elo. As long as you only think of your performance by getting better KDA than the enemy laner, you're playing the game wrong. Getting camped is good. You just have to ward, bait them under tower and deny them the kill. If they push 3 top towers and your jungler is still farming chickens and wolves, now then it's the jungler's fault. Otherwise he may have been counterjungled, counterganked or just tried to gank the wrong lane. I recommend watching your own replays on your jungler's point of view, it can be very educational.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTAND HOW IT GOES! i may be a mid/top main but i love your attitude. never have i cried for help or ganks when im nasus top (hes my best top. pretty weak now but still), i just split push entire game, tp if i have to and my team gets objectives on every front.

The enemy team has 5 potential leavers, yours only has 4 (unless you are one yourself). So on the long run there will be more AFKs in the enemy team and you will win more game because of AFKs than you lose. So no matter how frustrating AFKs are...they are not stopping you from ranking up, they are helping you. Nonsense.. you are taking this as an equal probability?. How do you know the probability of someone being AFK, besides if your team gets a guy who often AFKs.. then? Read this which is very interesting and RIOT with the /remake thingy is probably addressing the 95% of the AFK problem, the game first few minutes. http://www.manaless.com/2015/05/afk-4v5-games-analysis-using-kaplan.html
lets say a player has a p% of being afk. you are not a bad luck god and there is a certain probability. your team has pN4 chance of having an afk player since you are not afk, enemy team has pN5 chance which is higher (statistics could teach you that calculation) yes, sometimes the afk is on your team. but it should be more times on enemy team. people don't always notice an enemy has an afk or disregard it. in the long run (for me, i think over 3k games in the past 5 years) i think i had even times of afks on my team and on enemy team. yes, sometimes i lost with afk on enemy team, and sometimes i won with afk (once even 2) on my team. my point is, this doesnt happen to you especially, it happens to everyone, nothing to do about it. it isnt the reason for anyone's rank (there are videos explaining though that statistically it is possible and there are about 3 people that play league that cannot climb not because their lack of skill but because they have bad luck. but its about 3 out of over 60 million, and they are stuck so far in bronze 5 0 lp that to some point it is their fault too) just suck it up and play on, try to win or at least improve from that experience. something that riot could attempt would be swiching an afk player with a bot. ai. yeah, it would probably fuck up that player's build and play badly, but its better than nothing. ive seen HoTS try it and it worked pretty good. also, there aren't that many games with afks anymore. for me in ranked (normals dont count for that, since most people who aren't sure of their internet stability and their available time would go to normals), i had about 2 afks in over 30 matches i believe. also once or twice we were stomping enemy team so hard 1 or 2 of them just went afk (but that was at about 18 minutes or so, not the reason they lost)
: Your normal mmr is higher than your ranked mmr. I also play against higher players in normals. In ranked I mostly play with low silvers and higher bronze. In normals I mostly play with high silvers and often golds.
or hear me out on this or - THEIR normal rank is low. coming from a high gold/low plat player with normal mmr of about bronze 1. me and my friends enjoy playing stupid shit in normals resulting in us losing. even when we win we sometimes surrender just to keep our mmr low
Troller911 (EUNE)
: Why i have play against Diamonds/Plats/Golds when i am Bronze?
well, i can easily explain it. you play in normals seriously thus your normal rank is relatively close to your ranked rank. some people don't take normals seriously (one time me and my friends - all were plat last season) - played cait malph veigar darius fiddle and all bought zhonyas just to BM enemy team. weren't even winning. we just waited in some bush to get facechecked and when they did we all zhonya'd. of course, we lost that game. had really fun though. another time (that game we won though) our enemy had a really fed sejuani. we decided over teamspeak not to kill her. no matter what. sejuani finished the game 20/0/18 or so. But im diverting. my point is, some higher rank people enjoy trolling in normals (not feeding just playing stupid) resulting in them losing often and having a normal mmr much lower than their ranked mmr. right now my ranked is about gold 2 and my normal mmr is about silver 5/bronze 1. sometimes we won and surrender just to get the loss so our mmr would stay low. we enjoy playing normals togather like that. i mean, you cant go ranked and play soraka adc caitlyn support teemo jungle warwick ap mid and annie tank top.{{sticker:slayer-jinx-catface}}

good luck getting zed XD 85% banrate. zed is soooo broken at the moment and no sane guy would pick veigar when zed is open/picked. you will most likely face someone like cassiopeia who can handle zed. maybe annie. still, same tactic should get you covered. coming from another veigar main
Neonchan (EUW)
: That he is strong at any point is not true at all. His early is still terrible. His winrate is way below 50% in all games that end before 35 minutes. That's the point where he breaks even and if the game goes long he is naturally strong as expected. It's basically the same curve as Nasus expect that the spike for "concede because we failed the early and they have Veigar" is a bit earlier than the same spike for Nasus
just checked. 49.8% overall winrate. game lenght winrate is something you should use in order to know if to drag the game or to try and end it quickly. veigar is quite balanced i think at the moment. true, he has a lot of damage and serious powerspikes and supposedly neverending scaling but he can be outplayed relatively easy and a good build counters him completely (all this coming from a veigar main)
: > [{quoted}](name=PRAISE THY SUN,realm=EUW,application-id=39gqIYVI,discussion-id=eyXoMjUH,comment-id=0000,timestamp=2016-05-22T09:14:06.666+0000) > > His skillshots can be very easily dodged This is an excellent argument against a point-and-click ultimate with insane AP scaling and %-health component.
are you kidding me? yeah, i main veigar (since season 3 or so) and yeah, hes stronger now than he was ever since his rework due to high ap BUT, and this is a bigger but than frostblade irelia, it comes with a price. when you have full hp, the scaling is only 75% of his ap. let that sink in. before the mage update, he had 1.2 scaling with his and 0.8 with the enemy's ap. that was essentially double ap damage which could obliterate any ap. so now he has an execution ult, but when your hp is high it deals little damage, especialy if you have any mr. and thanks to current changes, mr is easily available to anyone. heck, i played against a yasuo who bought {{item:3156}} {{item:3139}} {{item:3111}} {{item:3102}} and i didnt do any damage to him, he ended up carrying his team. veigar is strong, has a lot of pick potential but if you play right he is not very viable right now. even now, his winrate is about 49%. it means he doesnt win even half of the games he plays. so what if he can burst someone down if he still cant use that insane power to win games?
: And this, riot, is why we stress test on the largest server instead of the smaller ones, or even better, on all of the servers. Common sense, not to mention it's happened before. Literally like giving your children a playset, taking ages to build it up for them and making it pretty, saying "it's ready" after getting them all excited, then acting surprised when one of your children (EUW) is too big to fit in it properly, thinking that just because the other child (NA) could fit in it and have fun, all of them could.
are you stupid or something? don't you think that a stress test can be done even on the pbe? as a sys admin i can assure you that servers that are used to monitor bugs (ahem ahem... pbe...) are almost always used to monitor stress test in larger scale than a regular server would. for example, say that the euw has 50m registered users, on the pbe they can run tests of simultanous 150m users, or 500m, however the fuck they see fit. however, sometimes even those tests fail in detection. riot are working their ass off and you guys should be thankful that you get service at all. do you think that if riot performed stress tests on the euw server it would still have players? over the last 2 years euw hardly suffered any downtime. if they would perform stress tests on it i assume that the downtime would be over 20% of the time. now on servers like the pbe people dont give a damn about downtime or lags because they know they can't do a thing there and the entire environment is meant to detect issues. however once you go to the "real" servers- euw, na, eune etc you cannot give costumers downtime like this.

you are doing it right. i mean, it is quite a tease to see the new system, but since it's not ready yet, we understand. i mean, i DO want to do my qualifiers with 2 of my friends (and we only have weekends to play), but i guess not much to do about it, we can always play normals togather or do rotations in ranked. as much as i would love free stuff from riot, i know that i am not entitled to it and that eventually, riot ARE doing their best in order to give us the best experience they can. riot did not forget about euw, they do not need to do checks on their systems in euw either. they can do it perfectly fine on the pbe. and to those saying : "but euw is the biggest server... blablabla" - here is a surprise coming from load balancing IT expert (sorry i tried to translate my title as good as possible) - in the pbe they can do it without affecting the euw. with same amount of users and more. they can make bots go through the systems looking for errors. for example, they can let 100m bots to run the lobby-start of the game constantly and report every bug. im not saying they do it cause i am not a riot employee. just stating the possibilities. riot is a great company that cares a lot about their costumers (even the not-paying ones) and i give them the thumbs up. good luck riot and i hope that you solve this one faster than the spectator bug.
