: The only smurfs you could regularly see are the ones who intentionaly feed. If a Dia1 player creates a new account (e.g. to train a new role) he will be above your mmr in a few dozen games, playing versus other people of his skilllevel. I would even say that allowing smurfs actually creates better games, since ppl can have different accounts for different roles, each playing on the correct MMR. You can even take this one step further: I actually do have a smurf where i play while drunk. If i were to play on my mainaccount (normal or ranked), i would destroy the game because i just dont play that well when drunk. But thanks to my smurf, i can be matched with people of my skill at all times. Things change of course when a player intentionaly loses matches from time to time in order to not climb. However, this actually IS forbidden already, althoug hard to detect.
"If a Dia1 player creates a new account (e.g. to train a new role) he will be above your mmr in a few dozen games, playing versus other people of his skilllevel." true, but when he's out of my skillrange, another smurf comes in. One smurf in itself is not a problem. Many smurfs are. And on the playing while drunk thing, im talking about ranked. You can always just play normals while drunk.
RogueDek (EUW)
: Banning smurfs is like banning people from having more than one account. Like what's the point?
Accurate rankings, a way more enjoyable game for new players. Why would you need more than one account? Other games often don't allow you to have more than one account. People act like its normal but i dont really see a point in allowing more than one account.
: I've been smurfing tonight. I went 4-1 in my provisionals. I play against gold players in all my games dispite my smurf account being silver 3. But it's not a problem because my main account is gold 1 so the skill difference isn't anything drastic.
i was moreso talking about High plat+ smurfs, not players close to the avg rank.
: It's simple... They don't have the tools to prevent it. Riot can never know who's actually a smurf and who isn't, and looking at the player's winrate etc. isn't a valid proof.
JustClone (EUNE)
: Its very less "they choose to allow it", and very much "they cannot do anything about it."
Ban them, tell streamers that its not allowed. Just because you cant always prove it doesnt mean you should just allow it.

: NEW PLAYERS GETTING FORCED TO GO AGAINST A SMURF
It's hard to really combat smurfs, they could do some phone number linking or IP linking but i wouldnt be surprised if that creates other big complications legal wise or consumer base wise. Normal MMR should help him if he keeps losing to avoid most smurfs, only option to really avoid them is to rush to lvl 30 and play ranked though. Also maybe Riot does say that they don't like smurfs but they also don't punish content creators who do unranked to [rank] series/streams which is also encouraging other people to smurf and try the same thing.
: Hi! Riots! Can you make new mode like draft games! I want you make game more better!
: Let's bump it up. I should be streaming TFT right now, or ranked, or literally anything else. But I can't because people aren't doing their job.
Little note, behaving somewhat aggressive like this will 100% not help you in getting this solved faster. So in future conflicts, being a bit nicer to people who most likely have 0 involvement in the issue at hand would be a welcome change. But i guess you are a LoL player so if you just decide to ignore this then it shouldn't come as a surprise.
: Dear Riot Games
Most of the problems lately are either Client or Server related. They are working on a new client which should hit somewhere this season if I'm not mistaken and the server issues have nothing to do with the developers. I do still think that some stuff could be a lot better but bugs happen all the time in the video games industry. In general i just think they should do a lot of cleaning up on the spaghetti code because sometimes stuff breaks that shouldn't have much to do with the changes that caused it (pure speculation)
: shitty client
If you watched the latest Riot Pls video then you would have noticed that they have a new client in the works, they had to wait with this until Windows XP support was dropped because the new client is based on Chromium.
: Why did Community Events get removed from Europe?
I haven't heard a reason either but maybe they have the EU team working on a replacement which means that that same team cannot then keep supporting the old system aswell.

Hi there, I was wondering if you would be interested in playing in a competitive league against other teams from a high plat+ level? Who are we? The minds behind SquareOne have around a combined 5 years of experience playing in and running amateur leagues within EUW but felt like there was nothing in the current space of high plat/diamond/master leagues for players that wanted a serious competitive environment, we decided to break out to create a league that represents our vision of how to maintain a solid product. This led us to establish SquareOne, and in consequence Champions League. What do we offer? Simply put; we want to offer a professional, competitive arena for players aiming to take part in the EU National Leagues and beyond. Most of today's amateur leagues are centered around the Gold and Platinum brackets - either by rank restrictions or by consequence of player concentration. Most players with ambition and dedication go past that bracket and into Diamond and might want to give a go at the pro player dream. We want to be there to give them the experience needed playing in a team to do that. At the same time, we hold all participants to a higher standard than most amateur leagues, aiming to mirror the standard a professional player would be held to by Riot. Alongside giving players valuable experience playing, we want to help them adjust to a more mature approach to the game - responsibility, proper behavior and fair play. (edited) Our league will run in two splits (Spring + Summer), with Spring Split starting in late January - prior to that, there will be a small qualifier tournament to establish which 12 teams earn a place in our league. Both splits will have both playoffs and relegations. We will have two game days per week, with two casted games per day. We aim to provide continuous content (hype videos, power rankings, interviews++) as well. Long term, we want to look into adding prizing, as well as getting in touch with established National League teams and/or LCS teams to set up more hands-on ways of developing players and bridging the gap between SoloQ and team play. TL;DR - We want to deliver the best amateur league service yet, aimed at developing players for tomorrows semi-pro and pro scene. Our Discord Link: https://discord.gg/96RT9yq

Hey Mehatchy, Zouden jullie het leuk vinden om in een EUW competitie te spelen (plat+)? I don't know of any bronze clubs sadly, but I do think the ping is a limiting factor if you want to climb high. For now id say just keep practicing, you'll get out of bronze as most people in bronze dont play regularly. Also playing tanks might be better with high ping as its not as punishing if you misposition due to input lag.

I think it's actually the opposite. "Riot Games" isn't going to read your posts on boards, or your tickets to support - I am, other Rioters on boards are, support team are. It does get very disheartening to see the negativity on boards, reddit, twitter, and especially comments like "the whole balance team should be fired!" or "Potato servers, hire some competent employees". We should absolutely be held accountable and called out when things go wrong, but there's a way to do it without simply insulting and belittling the teams who work hard on LoL - *trying* to make it an enjoyable experience for as many people as possible. There are definitely missteps and mistakes, but we appreciate constructive feedback (especially with good reasoning, as well as potential solutions), as it helps us get an idea of player sentiment as well as what they see as wrong, and what they'd like to see. We know we can't please everyone, but a collective amount of feedback is super useful to us ^_^
I sort of know how constant negativity feels, its not helpful at all. So I'm gonna try to give some constructive feedback even though I'm not even close to the knowledge of Rioters. 1. The game servers: It has to be said, the game server state isn't what it should be. I've heard people say that it is because of frequent patches? Afaik other games that update frequently don't have many server issues and with the decreasing of the update size might help? 2. Balance and player impact: There has been a lot of criticism lately towards the balance team and the impact one player has in a SoloQ match. I do get why this is hard to satisfy as the game has 2 focus points (SoloQ and Competitive). I can't really think of a way to fix that but I do have a suggestion. Lately i've been thinking that it is kinda weird that SoloQ is the main ranked focus in the game, sure it is the most accessible as you can go in solo but Riot has stated before that the game is team focused (its a 5v5 game with emphasis on strategy so yeah its gonna be team focused), then why not focus on a ranked queue that is for 5v5 teams? It would make more sense gameplay wise and balance wise. 3. The chaos lately with sexism: This is a weird one. Sure it is wrong that there was sexism, but Riot's response was on the other side of the spectrum. Just treating everyone equally is the solution here, not being sexist towards woman and not discriminating men at PAX. 4. Clash: This one was a bit of time ago. Rolling out such a big feature is probably a big task. With all the tests done on the servers it could be expected that it would work though. It didn't which is a shame but the communication part of it was done a bit poorly. IMO (can't speak for the entire community) dropping the entire launch after the first 1-2 failures would have been better than the super late announcement that it is cancelled. Fixing the feature in the time between launches shows good effort sure but is a bit chaotic. 5. Game stability: I am with the community on this one. Basic game features should just work through patches. There have been large random issues with spectator mode and friends list lately, these kind of errors are a lot more abundant in LoL than in other large multiplayer games. However there are things that Rioters do well ofcourse, you people listen to the community a lot for example even though it can be really toxic at moments and not very appreciative. Also the large support for the esports scene lately with franchising and ERLs for example. Another strong part of this game is that it is still real free to play and still a big boi in the game industry even after all these years. Keep up the work so that LoL may be around for many years to come

google translate much? :P OT: I don't know if players are waiting for this. They already have to play a lot of matches in a year and don't have a lot of time off. I'd be happy to help, if I can join the Discord i could get familiar with what the community does and wants and then I can see what I can help with. I'd like to see competitive league of legends grow in lower level of play and let more people experience 5v5 gameplay in a league that is actually actively interacting with the teams and viewers.
