: Hi Prof Stoned, There was an issue similar to this earlier in the year, and the way we managed to get people back up and running was to uninstall the updates from the start of the year. This then resolved the issue, and when they reinstalled the issue did not reoccur. The problem is, unfortunately, you got all your updates at once - we never could track down which updates exactly were causing the issues, as after this the issue didn't show again. I'm not really sure what to suggest, uninstalling all Windows Updates isn't something you can feasibly do...I don't have a copy of Windows 8 handy at the moment, but is there a way to arrange by release date rather than installed date?
Hi there again Eambo. So i unninstalled LoL and reinstalled it. Before launching the patcher Windows told me that this application needed Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5 to work and it wasn't installed yet, so it installed itself (took quite a while), then i launched the patcher and after finishing installing everything the client runs smoothly, no more freezes. So i guess i didn't have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installed already, but it seems pretty strange to me! Anyways thanks for the fast response! cheers

: Hey. I had similar problem not too far long ago. Game froze when I opened LoL for the first time ever day (second, third or any other time would not freeze. First time only). I noticed that this happened when game tried to connect to pvp.net, to open my friend list and chats. Numerous patches did not fix the problem. I even tried the automatic fix from Riot, which also did not help. I did not send them my data though (which is also suggested). I don't remember correctly, but I think the problem for me was fixed, when I used program called "Defraggler" (You can easily find it from google, it's free to use). This is not made especially for LoL though. It finds fragments from your hard drives and then fixes them. I think some LoL file (possibly pvp.net file) was damaged or moved somehow and the program fixed it.
Thanks still, i got defraggler, maybe it'll help in the future, my issue is resolved tho i just unninstalled and reinstalled LoL entirely. It seems Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0,3.0 and 3.5 were missing, or at least installator asked for it to be installed so i did it and finished the install and update, everything runs smoothly, 0 freeze
