: don't think this will ever happen but maybe they could consider placing one at madagascar?? whould still be much better for lag then eu/turkey server.
I honestly would leave the choice of the location to Riot, but I just wish we could get some feedback from them. We haven't heard anything in 2 years.
: Uganda pls I guess, while simply running some servers may not be THAT costly, localization is another thing and which ever way you look at it, Africa isn't the wealthiest region, to make much of a profit off of. I don't think I've heard of any game having dedicated servers for Africa. Especially f2p
The thing is we have Amazon Web Services set up in Cape town and Johannesburg now, which is where it will probably be set up if in South Africa. I wouldn't say it is the wealthiest, but it has the numbers, of which a LOT are hidden due to players not wanting to play on a higher latency server. Imagine how much would be put into the biggest game in the world by the African community if it had local servers. To name a few free-to-play games in South Africa with servers: *Dota 2 (the biggest one by far), *Battlerite, *CS:GO (although this isn't free-to-play, R159 is about $11 and it is frequently on big sales. Added to this, it is one of the largest communities currently. A lot of money is put into its cosmetic content by the players). These are all games with massive communities (maybe not Battlerite), and the population size ratio of League of Legends is much larger in relation to e.g. CS:GO or Dota 2 in other countries. What's stopping the ratio from changing for such a MASSIVE, popular, free-to-play game in South Africa? TL;DR: Locations are set up, Some African communities aren't exactly poor either, There are other F2P games with SA servers (Dota 2, Battlerite)

: The problem with League is that you can't compare it to any other online game, it beats every single one in size and very seriously at that. What works for CS: GO or Dota most likely will not work for League. Also when I talked about infrastructure, I also meant internet infrastructure, something like this http://iwgcr.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/africa-cable-sous-marin.jpg it actually shows why one server will not do any good, traffic between north and south often goes around Africa, so with only one server players on the other side will get even worse ping than directly to Europe
But to get back to the original idea, North Africans have access to EUW and Turkey, whilst South Africans have access to both with no ping of less than 200ms. Why not host it here?
Smerk (EUW)
: It's all about infrastructure, they can't make just one African server, because continent is too big and divided. African community may be big, but is it big enough to sustain two servers? South African server won't be good enough for North Africa and vice versa, a lot of players will continue to play on EU servers
I just don't see the point in not setting up anything then. Take this analogy for example: There is 1 cookie made of chocolate chips. Guy 1 lives in a place where he never has chocolate as he lives too far away from any stores that sell them. Guy 2 lives closer to a place where chocolates are sold, so he would occasionally have one every now and again. As the cookie can not be split (like you mentioned), I don't see the point in just throwing the cookie away. Why not just give it to one of them? North Africans live approximately 3000-4000km away from EUW server and Southern Africans about 13000-14000km from EUW server. I cannot see North Africans having a ping above 150ms, where as we in Southern Africa never get below 180ms (if ever so low). South Africa hosts servers for both Dota 2 (average queue time 1 min) and CS:GO (average queue time 12s). I would just like to know how it is not possible to host a server here for one of the most popular MMO's in the world (in South Africa as well). A lot of South Africans don't play League simply because of the ping. Imagine the amounts of players that would return just because of a better latency? I do know that Riot sets up their own HQ wherever they host their servers, but would it not be possible to host a test server through one of the ISP's down here to at least try and see how it goes? P.S. 1) I don't know a lot about ISP's and hosting and such, so please correct me wherever I may be wrong P.S. 2) I hope my analogy of the cookie made sense

I am also very interested in joining. I am currently Bronze IV because I tilted heavily these past few days, but have been Silver II before (or III). I mostly play ADC, but can play any role. I just do much better with ADC overall.

: Thank you, the idea is to be a series :D, so multiple videos means multiple team-comps and solutions !
Do you by any chance have an EUW account? Could really use some help/pointers.

: Plays Explained #2 - A visual guide to understand League of Legends Strategy (Micro and Macro)
Very informative video, even though it only focuses on a certain comp and certain very specific conditions, still great.

: why there is no urf mode ?
Riot does this because URF, as we all know, is basically the broken gamemode where you've activated all the cheats and you're basically just throwing abilities all over the place. From experience, most of us know that as soon as these "cheats" are activated. we quickly get tired of the game because you're not working for anything anymore and you are focusing more on the "no mana usage" and low cooldowns, which quickly becomes boring because it becomes repetitive. They disable the gamemode to get players to stay interested, and also to keep normal games from becoming "dull". They are basically just trying to get you to stay with LoL :)

: Hi Rhawkie, thank you for the reply. Acording to the "Hextec repair tool", my latency is ok, I also checked my drivers. The strange thing is, that i can play ARAMs just fine (most of the time).
Hello again, It most likely can be from Riot's side as I've seen a lot of posts and threads about people complaining about similar problems. It just doesn't seem like a coincidence. Give Riot a few days. Rhawkie {{item:1051}}

: Client "freezing" during ban or pickphase
Hello Ottinator, Make sure all things are good on your side, e.g. try checking if it might be latency-related (which I also doubt) or anything else that seems strange with your PC. If you keep having these problems, give Riot Support a few days to message you back. I'm sure they'll get to you soon! Good luck! Rhawkie {{item:1051}}
: ping issues EUW
Hello SamMeist3r It is always possible that the problem might be on Riot's side. If you are confident that the issue is not on your side, try making a ticket to Riot Support and asking them to test your connection to see what they can do. Good luck! Rhawkie{{item:1051}}

: Can't use Mouse Button and Fps/Client Lag
Hello DeltaThc9 I think the connection problems might be Riot-related as it is specifically only League that is the problem (as you say). Try rather making a ticket to Riot and asking them to check your connection. Good luck! Rhawkie {{item:1051}} P.S. - Your English isn't bad at all ;)

: Hey there Rhawkie, i also kind of stumbled upon this problem. The loading screen is stuck at 100% with all for a really long time. I go and press alt+F4 to leave it and see myself inside the game. Most of the times when it happened I was with a friend whom I messaged and told me that the game has started. So what I did was to try and reconnect and when I've been bumped by the black screen and that white little window saying that there's no internet connection I just close the LoL client entirely and go to the networking center and reset my wireless adapter. then I can freely connect back to the game and continue to play it. Just had it happen last game. Hope thsi helps you. if not.. good luck then.
Thanks for this help Goodnigut, I will definitely try this. Did you just disable and re-enable your adapter?
