: Bot users invasion in coop vs ai
Supposedly Riot does the banning in batches, so bot builders have a harder time figuring out exactly what detected them and how to beat that detection. (Ideally I wouldn't want bot-scrips in my games, but at the same time also to not have the accounts be banned until just before they are sold, so the dirty rats running those bots actually make a loss on those accounts... :-| )
HuNTer77 (EUW)
: Helping a low player friend new to game
For coop games as already said, which account doesn't matter since it shouldn't matchmake by MMR. Though it seems right now there are lots of bot-scripts in coop, so you probably have just 3-4 humans for the 3 lanes and 1-2 scripts doing random stuff, likely switching lanes every death or recall. (if a heal/ghost player is lvl 15+, 90+% chance it's a bot) For normal games, the low level account is probably better, since the higher MMR of the high account would result in stronger opponents. (keeping fingers crossed you're at the point already where most of the smurfs would be sorted away into their own matchmaking queue already)
PurpleOrk (EUW)
: Not sure about normal, but sure it's COMMON. Almost every player on beginners bots is a script running it down. But fanboys here will shoot down any suggestion that the reason is that Riot is MASSIVELY benefiting from botting, as every one of these will be bought once boosted, and a load of skins will be bought for the account.
Hmm, most of those probably will be bought as alts for people too lazy to level their own alt or as new ranked accounts for people with 1 or more permabanned accounts. Neither of those will likely spend much on skins for such accounts. I doubt many buyers expect those accounts to last even a whole season before being banned.
DallersUK (EUW)
: Is this normal?
Lot's of bots lately indeed. I guess those people are farming up lvl 30 accounts to sell at the start of season 10. AFAIK Riot does bot bans/botted account bans in batches instead of right away when one is detected to obfuscate the bot detection measures used, making it harder for the bot makers to adapt in that constant arms race...
xhamsterx (EUW)
: The problem is not about the skins, but the prices i'm given. They are cheaper in the shop, than here with the "discount". Mecha Kha'zix is 1350, and im offered to buy it for 1784 Astro Teemo is 1350, and im offered 1354 and so on.
Probably not a bug. Probably that just means you don't own the champion and it lists the RP price of the skin plus the RP price of the champion combined. If you buy the champion (for BE or RP), the listed price should go down to the expected number.
: I get matched with Silver and Gold Players in Normal Draft. It's the worst experience I ever had.
Because normal game and ranked MMR aren't linked. So if those silvers and golds hardly ever play normals or mostly play them non-serious resulting in losses, they will have a low normal game MMR. Now that ranked has ended, all of those people will flood into normal games until next ranked season starts. (though that might mean them tryharding more in normals and rising in MMR from now on)
: New Player Experience
Hmm by lvl 16, shouldn't the smurf detection have already have had enough games to put the smurfs into their own matchmaking queue? Unless it also put _you_ into that queue, which would explain only getting smurfs...

On top of that the matchmaking is an actual joke. You will have massively uneven teams and it will be a coinflip every game. This game is nothing but stress and cancer, you will probably want to kill yourself after spending to much time here. On top of that the games filled with predatory microtransactions designed to pressure you inti buying things....You want that limited time border for that new £20 skin that just came out? better pay another £10. Want the chroma for it well better spend another £20 on that since it comes with limited time chormas in the bundle.....and and better buy the pass to get tokens so you can get the last chroma for it.....You will waste so much time and money on this game and hate yourself for it.....Trust me leave and never come back. The matchmaking thing is true. Im new to league and play plats and diamonds which is rly not fun to learn. I started to only soloQ because atleast the MM there is more balanced.
Well, that bit is just because ranked and normal game MMR aren't linked, so those plats and diamonds have the same normal game MMR as you, probably because of not playing it very often other than maybe to try something out...
: Why remove it in the first place tho. Isn't having more gamemodes to play better for everyone?
: You will slightly change your mind about that when you will see your temmates with no even the basic boots at minute 30... {{sticker:sg-zephyr}}

You might be talking about the new day 1-7 rewards. https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752824-Reward-BE-XP-System-Breakdown#leveling-rewards-0-10 Haven't made an alt in a long time, so not sure if you miss out on any of those if you miss out playing any day out of your first week.
: Bots everywhere
a) you're probably exagerating a bit b) they do bot bans in waves, so they don't alert bot writers to when exactly they managed to detect the bots, so they don't provide hints to bot writers how to avoid the new detection.

I remember a time when Ashe mid was the meta.... The meta is defined largely by what the pro players are doing, so your statement makes no sense.
s/pro players/organized play/ 4 sources of gold/exp income, 5 players, so putting the one who does better with gold and less levels than others and the one designated to get nearly nothing together in a lane works best. Why the bottom lane as the duo lane? Because dragon spawns first. (plus later some tweaks by Riot against early lane swap which I guess they didn't want to constantly have in pro play that further cemented bot lane to be the duo lane) Ashe mid was before smart people started to theorycraft how to optimize things, so kind of before meta really existed. (and then people figured out a (ranged) ADC without a dash away (like those 4 [1] you mentioned have) in a solo lane isn't smart.) [1] though Corki is no longer an ADC, but an APC building AD items (silly yordle damage type conversion tech/rework...)
: tft games don't contribute towards Worlds event missions ?
TFT games only process their results once there is a winner (number 1), so depending on when you went out, that could be 20 minutes later...

: Bro listen. I did not give out my information to anyone nor i used any third party software. Further than that i am 99% sure that was a boost to another account! They can verify that by checking the matchmaking of the games i never played. Further than that the authentication is not made by the IPv4 address but also my mac adress of my router or PC which is unchangable! We have this situations in WoW, or actually we HAD in the past when hacking was a daily routine, and what the Support did was to check the logs and see. They do have acess to see what programms you are actually running in your pc in real time. I can prove that with evidence from Closed tickets i had with a blizzard representative! They have just not given a fck to investigate my situation! I am a super social player, never tryharded LoL, i play for fun when i am Off WoW or BF4 ! I have never cheated in any sort of game, and to be homest, i have youtubed cheats for BF4 and WoW to see what it looks like out of curiosity, but for League i havnt even searched once! I cant get how can you use any soprt of program to assist youwith the game! There is nothing i have to prove as i am the only one that knows the truth, but it feels bad knowing the truth which is that i am 100% clear. The champions that were selected for these 3 games i never played (which i saw from this website that shows the match history) are champions i havnt played at all before! How can i have these scores? There are sooooo many evidences! I am even down to prove where i was at the time the games took place. I wasnt playing league. I wasnt even home probably! This feels so bad man! Check this... I dont even have to tell you which games had nothing to do with me, even from the majority of the champion selections i have! https://lol.mobalytics.gg/summoner/euw/sumaspro/match-history
I'm not saying you're the cheater. I'm saying that since an account isn't bound to a single device and since there isn't (yet) something like two factor authentication if an account is played on a new device, there is no way to distinguish between "the player themselves played on another device" or "someone else found out the account's password and played on another device". (and again, no way for Riot to distinguish in that latter case if you _gave_ that other person your login credentials or _not_) So assuming it wasn't you and you didn't give anyone your login credentials, then most likely to me it would sound like: a) your password was too weak and someone managed to "break in" that way or b) you re-used an e-mail/username and password combo that got stolen in a data breach at some other company (might want to check something like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Have_I_Been_Pwned%3F ) and someone got in with that info. And then you were unfortunate enough that instead of just trolling around, whoever got into your account used cheats, so instead of noticing someone else playing the account and with the help of support getting it back under your sole control, you ended up with a perma-d account... :( It's an annoying no-win situation. (PS: MAC address doesn't travel beyond the next hop, so your PC's MAC address not beyond your router, your router's MAC address not beyond your ISP first router/gateway and it's actually pretty easy to spoof; plenty of routers allow that specifically because some (cable) ISPs specifically look for their own home modem/router's MAC address, so spoofing the MAC address is in that case the only way to use your own router instead of the ISP supplied one... ;) )
Nompleteri (EUNE)
: Permanently Banned after getting Hacked! THIRD PARTY PROGRAM
So, check the IP logs and give the account back? If they did that then anybody who would want to cheat could just run the game through a VPN or play at a wifi hotspot they haven't used before when using a cheat program and when they get banned claim "I got hacked, just check the IP logs!" and get their account back... In other words, it's not that simple. How to actually prove the cheater wasn't you? No idea. Hmm, they have 2FA for unknown devices for the account site (https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010366413), but other than for Clash I guess not for the client itself yet if it's logged into the account from an unknown device?

: Matchmaking queue
a) LoL has players spread over more queues than TFT's 2. b) throwing together 8 players with similar TFT MMR is easier for the matchmaker than trying to build 2 balanced teams of 5 roles. (LoL coop-vs-AI actually procs in 1-2 seconds most of the time because it doesn't have the problem mentioned at b) )
: Why can i not reset my rank ?
If you could just reset rank at will, you'd probably massively import the newbie game smurfs problem into iron/bronze. And either you would get very wacky LP wins/loss numbers or you would also have to let a chunk of MMR evaporate from the system (since without a MMR change, the system would still match you with/against the same players), which might throw the whole matchmaking system out of whack, since MMR points just going "poof" probably isn't something it's designed to work with...
: Is there a way that someday in the future I could get the 2018 V.S Icons?
If it's a event icon, then unless they bring back the same event, likely the only way to get it is randomly from a chest/orb/etc. that includes a chance for an icon. Your odds would likely only be 1/unowned_icons per open though. ;-( (AFAIK some icons are excluded from that such as e-sports, those included with borders etc.) For ex. the Essence Emporium event's random icon chest that should be active probably december-ish and costs 1500 blue essence could get you such an icon, but without a lot of luck could take hundreds of thousands of BE to random that one icon you wanted...

Also yes, my friend just got permabanned, I heard that it wasn't a good experience since she used 2k euros on the account, heh. And yeah, I've been reporting almost in every game today.. It's such a shame that we need to experience this when there are actually players that are new to the game. Especially when some people (including me) have been through pretty rough times and get easily hurt or offended by those comments. You're right, communication is important, but not worth it if they're being they toxic. I would say on the first instance just ignore them (or reply explaining why you did something if they call you out on it, without getting into an argument - if they keep on just ignore it). If they keep flaming you etc. just mute their chat. They will still be able to see your chat (I think) and you will still be able to talk to the rest of the team. Most communication with random teammates is done with pings anyway, you will still be able to see their pings. If they then keep ponging you for example question marks every second to annoy you, then mute their pings too. Most of the time toxic players don't have much communication of value to add anyway and will ignore your suggestions because they are "so pro". If the lack of communication ends up costing you the match (which isn't very likely) then it's their fault at the end of the day. I've had matches where I've had to mute multiple people on my team (sometimes premade players ike to gang up to flame you, which is fun!). Also I would say definitely don't spend that much money on a free game! I don't even know what you would spend that much on tbh, Most skins cost like £3 on sale. And yeah bear in mind that you don't own the account and if you get permabanned you lose it all (which is a questionable from a legal standpoint if you ask me, but laws don't benefit consumers {{champion:32}} ) It is a shame and shows you the sad fact that most people aren't vey nice as I think this brings out their true nature they don't show in "real life". Also I would recommend finding friends who are similar low level, or at least low rank/skill, as if you premade with much better players, you will be matched against much better opponents than you, which can get frustrating.

: A lil help?
Some of those toxic people in low level games might be smurf accounts of people who got their main permabanned. Riot has some smurf detection in place, but it takes a few games until it has sorted the smurfs into their own smurfs matchmaking queue...
sbepi (EUW)
: so better let a tilted player that lost his account vs a new player? so a toxic boy in a new game player lev 1, that's the dream to start a game x) riot should priorities new players
It's not good, but neither would "oh, if I'm toxic and permabanned, my next account is only 10 levels away from ranked, so I can be as toxic as I want" be and the lvl 20 players instead of lvl 1 players needing to hide from toxic smurfs... ;-( Just a no-win situation.
sbepi (EUW)
: we can't compare europe to south korea, so i think riot can't balance the "leveling account" in that way even if they ask a telephone number to create a new account a player can have infinite telephone number, so yeah, no wya to follow that model in almost all games there is the new player/expert player, but it isn't present in league of legends...idk why they are not doing something like that but actually on reddit i got flamed just because i didn't play only vs bot till level 30, and when i said i wanted to have at least fun when i have to level up an account tehy didn't care x) so idk, to me new player experience is dramatic right now and riot should do something to defend tehir gaming experience in league
Well, since going all "big brother"-y isn't wanted and rewarding banned players that make new smurf accounts isn't wanted, the current system of there being "smurf detection" that after a few games should put the smurfs into their own seperate matchmaking queue probably falls into a category of "least bad with no real good options available". ;-(
: there are 2 types of shard the champ chard and a permanent champ shard, when you get all champs if you reroll 3 champs you get a permanent shard, if you dont have the shampion it automatic is consumed and unblock champ if you already have champ you get a permanent champ shard on loot.
? Champ rerolling was scrapped I think back when the changeover to just BE and upgrading champ shards was done.

: leveling a new account
Not sure if it's still a thing, but I thought new accounts once were asked how familiar they are with MOBA games, from MOBA newbie to MOBA expert, which was probably used to pre-tweak matchmaking a bit. Of course, just like the idea in this topic, that relies on people being turthful and not newbies overestimating themselves, choosing "expert" and smurfs of banned players wanting to newbie-stomp and picking "newbie". ;-( ("hey, you just got banned, so have a free lvl 20 account might also lessen the impact of bans". And for streamers apparently it's "buy/pay for a new lvl 30 account. If it was a botted lvl 30 only play it until it falls victim to the next wave of bot account bans, if it was leveled by a human, keep playing it as long as you don't mention that account sharing.) The only way to really solve it would be draconic measures like in South Korea where it's a LoL account linked to social security number, so the only way to get more than one is if Riot allowed you to link multiple and banned means out of the game instead of making smurf accounts over and over again. (Though that would be a pretty terrible idea IMHO)
JustTits (EUNE)
: Okay well, it's still the same. The client shouldn't take THIS much time I guess.
op.gg and u.gg also say you're still level 6. Are you sure you didn't level another account to lvl 7+ (other name or other server) ?
SwizzyNL (EUW)
Assuming the mission system isn't backlogged, a game gets processed for missions once 7 out of 8 player hit zero health (at top right of the TFT missions lists it will list the number of games that still need to be processed). I'm not 100% sure if missions check for the highest point in the game or the situation on the board at end of game (I think it's the first) and I think it then counts 2* as 3, 3* as 9, so if you had 2X 2* and 1x 1* sorcerers in the game and started at 0/20, then that should progress to 7/20 once the mission processing is done.

: **Here riot explains it (text is from your own link):** >Champions With High Mastery Curves? A mastery curve is a representation of how much more effective a player becomes on a champ as they play them more. Champions with steep mastery curves, like Aurelion Sol and Katarina, typically have a much higher win rate when played by experienced players than newcomers to the champion. >We are intentionally leaving out mastery curve data when considering which champions to buff or nerf because we don’t want to enact a system that might punish the investments players make into mastering a champion. We’re also optimistic that if a champion’s power when mastered is out of line, then it will show up as highly present in Pro play or highly banned in Elite play—both of which will lead to nerfs. If you cannot comprehend when I say it, maybe you will get it from riot... If you still do not understand what they say, I can help again. Just ask, son.
You have a bit abrasive way of replying... What you quoted will then be applied _per bucket_ , so if the "average play" bucket's OTPs of a champion can't drag up the win rate of that champion enough to offset the "average play" newcomers winrate of that champion to not be in "needs a buff" range, they might think of some tweaks to the champion to buff its "average play" without buffing its "pro play" (too much).
JustClone (EUNE)
: No, son. You are the one who doesn't get it. The champions in this game are balanced around pro-players, not low elo players. While for you she seems "unplayable", for people who have skills with her, she is a monster. The bad thing is , that nothing can be done for you. This is why riot designs also champion who have kits that suitable for people with poor to none game knowledge. You can pick suitable champion for your skill level here: https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_champions/Ratings (sort by Difficulty) As you will see, Irelia has difficulty of 3 on the top of the list. Anyhow as you say, you do have to learn how to play against 14-1 zeds (just an example) but WHY though. In iron you learn basics of movement and casting abilities. In bronze you learn to play with your team instead of playing solo and to not be greedy, and then in silver you have to learn to 1v9???? This jump in difficulty is not something that should happen, in silver you should need to learn how to play with waves and map awareness while in reality you have to learn to do something usually higher elo's learn. What I mean is silver is too low an elo to learn how to 1v9 carry, but you have to if you want to climb due to afks, no ganks, inters, trolls, people just having a bad day.

Well, technically that makes it not unlimited... ;) Though the theoretical limit by cheating (botting, account sharing) would probably end up at something high like about 20 tokens/hour and then 24 hours a day -> 480 tokens/day, so the 100 prestige points within 4 1/2 days.

: new player
Most real newbies would a) start out with Coop for a bunch of games or b) get sorted in the non-smurf matchmaking queue after a few normal games. As a MOBA veteran, it's quite logical for the system to instead sort you into the smurfs matchmaking queue...
Try if Hextech repair tool https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/224826367 can fix your client. If that doesn't work, try the link on that page to send a ticket. Maybe support can find a reason in the logs the tool gathers.

As he failed to read that the first time, I doubt pointing it out specifically will help any. Most of us do read just fine though. Tries to be respectful too when asking questions. While not exactly sure what a "security engineer" does, if I were to ask a question regarding an auto-login feature (no need to insert password), would that be in your department? The client doesn't respond very well to passwords being inserted with Ctrl+V, so not having to insert them at all would be handy for me. I don't play on different PCs anyway.

: in sc2 alphastar got able to bring al 3 race at 75% winrate in master with many accounts. he just have to fix the problem about air units as zergs...protos bot is already good, can be upgraded, but he is strong while we still have random bots 1 iq
Since humans haven't yet adapted to abuse at least 2 of the Alphastars apparently being OTPs... And of course you don't use real AI bots for Coop vs AI, since then you can probably run 10+x the number of ranked games on a server than Coop games...
sbepuz (EUW)
: ask to dota2, ah sorry, riot only able to copy dota and make it easyer, so all player could play it ^^ bots have more than 97% winrate also vs world champions teams, and in a long time it is destineted to be 100% winrate vs everyone they study why players to some plays, and they make this plays perfect, and they will remember all plays for a specifical situation....our bots are not even able to use flash
You must not have played Coop in a while... Bots do at times flash for the kill or to escape or for ex. Malphite-bot ulting away at 2% health to deny you the kill... Edit: and the learning of the AI is mostly like "place it near a road 10K times, sometimes it wanders into the road, gets hit by a car and dies, sometimes it doesn't cross the road, sometimes it randomly walks onto the zebra crossing and (mostly) the cars will stop and not hit it" and then discarding patterns that got it killed and re-enforcing ones that didn't get it killed. Does it know _why_ that different color bit of road is less likely to get it killed? No. Such an AI will reach "works for me" solutions that might absolutely not be optimal for humans or even itself. (might play an AP champ AD or something like that because it fits with its mechanics/APM...) I wonder if it would ever come up with the concept of a "support", let alone something like a Sona Taric bot lane; didn't OpenAI share gold equally among its champs in those Dota 2 matches?
sbepuz (EUW)
: OpenAI's DotA AI this bot had more than 97% winrate, and it is going to be 100% in a long time, they study all game played to implement their gameplay while we have the 1 iq bot x)
I think that one had the restriction on which champions could be played on both sides? And I guess like Star Craft 2's AlphaStar it trains mostly through thousands of OpenAI vs OpenAI games? I'm guessing such an AI bot would also take many multiples of times the resources of the intermediate bots to run as "Coop Hard" after training. Hmm, looks like about 2% of games are Coop SR and hardly any Coop TT, so I guess they'll have a bit extra resources from not letting the TT bots break to invest in the SR bots once TT is shut down... ;) https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/wYcVRQBO-quick-gameplay-thoughts-august-9?comment=000d0000 Over the years they do have tweaked the intermediate bots to counter first-blood cheeses a bit, to zone if a lane is 1v2 because of a jungler etc. (Fortunately the amount of training makes it time and money prohibitive for level 30 farm bot scripts to switch from dumber than beginner bots to AI....)
: Why doesn't Riot improve the bots?
Maybe once lvl 30 farm bot scripts surpass riot beginner bots? ;)
: I am talking about PBE guys.
New Player Advice -> it's logical to assume you're talking about live server. And as I said in another comment, if a skin doesn't need testing because it's new/a rework, they might not have it in the PBE shop. If you want to see what it looks like before buying on the live server, there's probably a skin spotlight on youtube.
: No, :( lunar empress and elementalist lux aren't there.
Seeing elementalist no problem on the live server (at least on EUW): https://i.postimg.cc/7PCg2gzn/lol-shop-lux.jpg (IIRC PBE doesn't have all older skins (in the shop?) though if they don't need testing at that moment) And I think Lunar Empress is a lunar new year seasonal, so that one should return in about half a year.

: How can you get more blue essence?
There's usually also some loose blue essence included with the shards in levelup capsules.

: I used the PBE briefly during the transition phase from RP to BE and not alot of info is available anyways. Why do old skins that cost RP still exist? I honestly don't know Why they moved from RP to BE? There's their explanation and the one between the lines. Upfront they stopped giving RP due to issues, they ended up gifting a fixed ammount of RP a or a few times before stopping altogether. People ran out of RP and they weren't giving any away, when new skins were released they made them cost 1 BE and said that it was a temporary fix, it seems hat it worked fine and have been doing that ever since. My tin-foily "between the lines" explanation would be that they did this on purpose. Ever since they made getting a PBE account easier the number of people on the PBE server increased significantly (duh) which could have caused a lot pressure on a server that was't used to it. The quality of "testing" dropped which defeated the purpose of the server to begin with. Knowing that made a PBE account solely to get the skins they wanted and not necessarily to try out things that actually needed testing Riot decided to cut off the RP to figure sth. out. Tried the gifting of RP but it didn't help putting less pressure on the servers nor improving the quality of the situation so they stopped doing that. They ended up with the 1 BE solution d it has worked so far. People who weren't interested in new stuff had 0 interest in playing on the PBE (which in general has worst ping and more bugs) knowing that they won't be receiving any more RP to buy the skins that they want and the people that re left either already have the skins they want or will actually test the new stuff out. They never issued an official explanation on anything this is pure speculation on my part, but it's the only explanation that makes sense of the situation in my mind.
Didn't a live server deploy also once accidentally have the PBE's lower RP price for some new skins? I guess it's easier/simpler/safer to have the live server deploy script do an automated "if skin price is in RP then OK else error" check than it doing a check for them having at least a certain price...
