Well, technically that makes it not unlimited... ;) Though the theoretical limit by cheating (botting, account sharing) would probably end up at something high like about 20 tokens/hour and then 24 hours a day -> 480 tokens/day, so the 100 prestige points within 4 1/2 days.

Since humans haven't yet adapted to abuse at least 2 of the Alphastars apparently being OTPs... And of course you don't use real AI bots for Coop vs AI, since then you can probably run 10+x the number of ranked games on a server than Coop games...
sbepuz (EUW)
: ask to dota2, ah sorry, riot only able to copy dota and make it easyer, so all player could play it ^^ bots have more than 97% winrate also vs world champions teams, and in a long time it is destineted to be 100% winrate vs everyone they study why players to some plays, and they make this plays perfect, and they will remember all plays for a specifical situation....our bots are not even able to use flash
You must not have played Coop in a while... Bots do at times flash for the kill or to escape or for ex. Malphite-bot ulting away at 2% health to deny you the kill... Edit: and the learning of the AI is mostly like "place it near a road 10K times, sometimes it wanders into the road, gets hit by a car and dies, sometimes it doesn't cross the road, sometimes it randomly walks onto the zebra crossing and (mostly) the cars will stop and not hit it" and then discarding patterns that got it killed and re-enforcing ones that didn't get it killed. Does it know _why_ that different color bit of road is less likely to get it killed? No. Such an AI will reach "works for me" solutions that might absolutely not be optimal for humans or even itself. (might play an AP champ AD or something like that because it fits with its mechanics/APM...) I wonder if it would ever come up with the concept of a "support", let alone something like a Sona Taric bot lane; didn't OpenAI share gold equally among its champs in those Dota 2 matches?
sbepuz (EUW)
: OpenAI's DotA AI this bot had more than 97% winrate, and it is going to be 100% in a long time, they study all game played to implement their gameplay while we have the 1 iq bot x)
I think that one had the restriction on which champions could be played on both sides? And I guess like Star Craft 2's AlphaStar it trains mostly through thousands of OpenAI vs OpenAI games? I'm guessing such an AI bot would also take many multiples of times the resources of the intermediate bots to run as "Coop Hard" after training. Hmm, looks like about 2% of games are Coop SR and hardly any Coop TT, so I guess they'll have a bit extra resources from not letting the TT bots break to invest in the SR bots once TT is shut down... ;) https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/wYcVRQBO-quick-gameplay-thoughts-august-9?comment=000d0000 Over the years they do have tweaked the intermediate bots to counter first-blood cheeses a bit, to zone if a lane is 1v2 because of a jungler etc. (Fortunately the amount of training makes it time and money prohibitive for level 30 farm bot scripts to switch from dumber than beginner bots to AI....)
: Why doesn't Riot improve the bots?
Maybe once lvl 30 farm bot scripts surpass riot beginner bots? ;)

Support is probably explicitly prevented from changing things there to avoid being social-engineered by people that did really earn that leaverbuster. : You are wrong, flat out. It just so happens that I actually did make a game, and a server for it, and I just did it for fun, I am not a professional programmer, but I made it with a function on the client side so that you get a notice if you get disconnected from the server. I made it with what I am sure is a crappy solution but I dedicated a Thread to ping the server for a response with a sleep timer between pings. Im sure that the programmers for RIOT can come up with a better but equally functional solution. If I had just gotten a message that I was disconnected, instead of just the normal loading screeen I would have acted sooner. I didnt make my client save any logs of what caused a disconnect or any failed attempts to reconnect but its not rocket science and it doesnt require any invasive takeover of my computer. I had a fully functional internet connection, the problem wasnt my internet connection who failed, the problem was that the client didnt inform me that anything was wrong, as soon at I restarted I got into the game. I can only guess that why they refuse to accept that this wasnt my fault is because that means they have to admit that they have a bug in their client that caused it, or poorly programmed, either way.

The only reason I am here is to let people know that in their Terms of Use, you have exactly no rights to your account, and they can (and apparently will) excercise that right rather than unlocking an account they have wrongly locked. The worst part of this situation is that this is according to support a fully automated system that they have no control over. How idiotic is that to make a system that makes errors but their support cant fix? Either the support flat out lied to me or someone need to program the system so the support can manually fix things when something apparently went wrong. The only reason I am here is to let people know that in their Terms of Use, you have exactly no rights to your account, That unfortunately is standard in the digital world. Just like for ex. if you buy a DVD/Blu-Ray you aren't buying the movie/series, but just some bits of plastic and metal and getting a license to play the movie/series from that particular bit of plastic and metal. (if you break it, no more movie/series...) Or if you "buy" a movie/series/music/game download on an apple/amazon/etc. account, they have the right at any time to revoke the item from your account, probably deleting it from your harddisk and/or make it unplayable in case of DRM for any/no reason...) And as for LoL, unless you want the LoL client to invasively take over your computer, network etc., the server can't really differentiate between leaving the game because of the client misbehaving, walking away from the client, killing the client, yanking out the network cable, etc. so unfortunately all cases of "server didn't get input from the client for a long time" need to be treated the same.

: I used the PBE briefly during the transition phase from RP to BE and not alot of info is available anyways. Why do old skins that cost RP still exist? I honestly don't know Why they moved from RP to BE? There's their explanation and the one between the lines. Upfront they stopped giving RP due to issues, they ended up gifting a fixed ammount of RP a or a few times before stopping altogether. People ran out of RP and they weren't giving any away, when new skins were released they made them cost 1 BE and said that it was a temporary fix, it seems hat it worked fine and have been doing that ever since. My tin-foily "between the lines" explanation would be that they did this on purpose. Ever since they made getting a PBE account easier the number of people on the PBE server increased significantly (duh) which could have caused a lot pressure on a server that was't used to it. The quality of "testing" dropped which defeated the purpose of the server to begin with. Knowing that made a PBE account solely to get the skins they wanted and not necessarily to try out things that actually needed testing Riot decided to cut off the RP to figure sth. out. Tried the gifting of RP but it didn't help putting less pressure on the servers nor improving the quality of the situation so they stopped doing that. They ended up with the 1 BE solution d it has worked so far. People who weren't interested in new stuff had 0 interest in playing on the PBE (which in general has worst ping and more bugs) knowing that they won't be receiving any more RP to buy the skins that they want and the people that re left either already have the skins they want or will actually test the new stuff out. They never issued an official explanation on anything this is pure speculation on my part, but it's the only explanation that makes sense of the situation in my mind.
Didn't a live server deploy also once accidentally have the PBE's lower RP price for some new skins? I guess it's easier/simpler/safer to have the live server deploy script do an automated "if skin price is in RP then OK else error" check than it doing a check for them having at least a certain price...

: New account, daily play rewards question
Not sure, but I kind of suspect you will miss out 2 days then, since such a system feels like a "get the newby in a rythm of daily play to lower the odds of them taking a break after their first few games and maybe not returning" system. (no idea if missing 2 days loses you 2x rewards, _which_ ones you would lose out on: those in the middle or at the end) It's probably also why there's a 3-day XP boost on the 3rd day, yet more "if you don't play, you miss out" stuff. BTW, the support page lists them as _Login rewards_ , so you could always check if that's true and just the 1-2 minutes to do a login instead of the 7+ minutes for a game after login does work too.

Only use (spare) Blue Essence to get rune pages, not RP. Not 100% sure, but I think the BE price for them is reduced during Essence Emporium twice a year?
: Why is RIOT games discriminating us ?
- f2p model mixed with Riot thinking that it's best to not overwhelm newbies to the genre with too much choice right at the start. (most of those then start with Coop vs AI and by the time/level they've gotten familiar enough with the game to try normals, they would have unlocked more rune pages, summoner spells and champions) - "meta" for a large part comes from the playerbase optimizing the heck out of things and Riot having to deal with that. (I've now and then watched some Dota 2 streams and to me it looked rather chaotic/about as un-optimized as quite low rank league streams...)

But I will get a 500 / 500 fibre connection within the year (finally!), and here's the question: What ping can I expect to see afterwards? My guesstimate, without having done any checks or math on it, is in the 30-50 ms range.
If it's the same ISP, it would likely only shave off a few ms. (think about it as buying a house at another place in the city while still having to drive over the exact same highways to work in another city) If it's another ISP, they might use a different route over the "internet highways" to Riot's EUNE servers in Frankfurt, Germany, but unless a route is pretty terrible, the largest chunk of the "ping" is just the physical distance between whereever you live and Frankfurt, Germany... (For ex. the 12ms ping I get on EUW is just the result of the signal only having to travel half a small country: my home in the south of the Netherlands -> ISP in Amsterdam, the Netherlands -> EUW server in Amsterdam, the Netherlands) (the extra bandwidth of the 500/500 should reduce the risk of lag spikes because of someone in your home starting a download/upload and perhaps the ISP might have higher guaranteed bandwidth on their network/to outside for such a higher speed line...)

Your FPS counter stays constant, but things seem to jump around a bit? I guess could be packet loss. (the server says "that champion moved from A to B to C to D to E" and your PC only recieved the "from A to B", "to D" and "to E" messages, so there's a bit of a jump where the "to C" should have been.)

My friend is not an IT expert or anything, he just sometimes suffer from lags when his brother is using the internet as well. So this is probably why internet was the first thing came to his mind. Well, if a download uses up all the bandwidth, that's more "no" than "slow" internet I guess... ;) Not sure if in cases like that the router might have some "Quality of Service"/QoS settings that could perhaps ensure some minimal bandwidth for LoL/the PC where LoL is played. (such sessings are for ex. used to ensure big downloads don't result in internet phone calls (VoIP) going all stuttery...) But internet shouldn't be a cause of FPS drops.

I don't think they do bans for summoner names. Reports for "offensive summoner name" I think just lead to being forced to change it. Unless I miss something, your name doesn't really look offensive to me.

Looks like you had a win streak, so probably got pit against stronger opponents from rising in MMR and now are on an equal-ish length loss streak. (you don't seem to have had worse KDA scores than your teammates in a few of the losses I quick checked from your match history)
: I'd like to start by saying there are a lot of things I don't know about the game, that I recently started reading about. And it's pretty exciting. I was missing out on a lot of things I needed to know. That being said, here's my personal experience on the subject: A high Elo player who was kind enough to watch a game of mine noticed I was going numb in team fights. He concluded there was probably something going on with the pc. Another friend of mine also told me that a slow internet could be the culprit, because, in team fights, the system collects data from 10 different players, making it laggy. It may be true since fps drop in team fights (around 10fps for a few seconds). I already use the lowest specs with no sound, with a cap of 30fps that often doesn't reach. Now the thing is, he also wondered if this was also to blame about my overall playstyle. On my old pc, where I played most of the time, the fps cap was 25, and for about an entire season I had 15fps, because I was using PlayOnLinux on Ubuntu (great OS, unfortunately not compatible with a lot of Windows programs. Thankfully it has some pretty good alternatives - anyway...). What this means, is, I started to avoid trading because I couldn't do it. So he advised me to improve as a player, but to also move on to a better setup and internet connection, as being responsive in fights is crucial. But you know - I mean... I didn't even do that for DOA :^) In all seriousness, it's always advised to use the recommended specs for each game, and make sure your internet speed is efficient. ----------------------------------------------And now some Irrelevant stuff-------------------------------------------------- Ok, so, there is something more that bugs me since today :v I thought: "Even if I play something simple like Garen and farm, ulting blindly a random full hp Nautilus in team fights doesn't really help. So maybe I should leave the resources to someone who can actually use them. While I'll be playing a champion who may be useful even when the screen freezes." But then, I bumped into this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRaYF9CoHa0 Time to put on your tinfoil hats: **After the 7 min mark**, Hashinshin starts explaining his theory about Top lane picks in high elo - who cares right? But then he continues by saying that this season Riot changed something in the Ranked system. Players can not afford to climb by a neutral win rate, as they used to. So, while in the past you could play decently something passive in some games (like when you autofill and don't know what to play), and expect your team to win half of the times (by helping them but not hard carrying), this season the "_matchmaking system will chuck you into games that aren't equal ... that you always need to hard carry_". And here's why I now worry: I have been complaining lately about huge loss streaks, that I have repeatedly stumbled upon. But these games were not close at all - the one team looked like they were somewhat inting. So, my problem with that is: Is this something normal that I worry too much about it, or the matchmaking system will intentionally start forcing me into games that I will need to hard carry? I don't know, maybe I won't be able to get away this time by just learning concepts (like wave management) while blindly spamming shields or heals in team fights. I will have to upgrade my system/internet and also improve as a player if that's true. {{sticker:sg-soraka}}

It may be true since > fps drop in team fights (around 10fps for a few seconds). I already use the lowest specs with no sound, with a cap of 30fps that often doesn't reach. "slow" internet should never be a problem: back when there still was an external replay program being made by someone, IIRC all the recorded data sent from the server amounted to something like 10-15Mbyte total for a half hour match, so even an antique but stable 1Mbit line would be sufficient enough for that. CPU and/or GPU would be a more likely culprit when having to draw all 10 champions and all the sparkly explosions/effects in a big team fight. (if on Ubuntu/Linux and using a Nvidia GPU, it might be worth trying both the open source and proprietary video drivers)

Well, most people mentioning "bad ping" in that case mean "high-ish ping, since I'm far from the server" instead of highly variable ping because of bad local-ish network equipment, "shitty wifi connection" (why would anybody use that on a device with an ethernet port?) etc., so by the first definition, probably 70+% of North America would have "bad ping".

Stop giving NA an excuse for being a 4fun region! ;) (server is in the middle of the USA, so both coasts have "high ping".) Constant ping of even 150ms (which is probably higher than playing on NA server from western Europe (haven't played on NA since before their server move...)) should be way better than a ping fluctuating between for ex 5 and 60.

There's base exp for the win/loss and then there's exp for the time spent beyond the minimum. Coop is reduced exp compared to PvP, but I guess exp speedrunners still get most exp/hour from shortest allowed just base wins with Coop reduction...

: well i have no experience on it, never tried, but reading through the boards ppl usually say that playing twisted treeline is the fastest vs bots from lvl 1 to lvl 30, after that i say prolly aram, its faster than summoners rift
I think for Twisted Treeline, they are playing Coop vs AI and then finishing just after the minimum time when you do get exp. (IIRC 7 minutes) . Coop is less exp than PvP, but I guess by only going for the "base" exp from the game and not the time exp, they still manage to make it more exp/hour that way. :-|

: TeamFight Tactics - Mid to late game advice
Also remember that you can sell back any tier of 1-star champ (not sure about 2-star) and tier 1 of higher star for full value, so changing composition direction or keeping some extra champs on your bench shouldn't cost you gold. And interest is calculated on whole tens after the end of the battle, so if you're for ex. at 39 gold and losing the battle, quickly selling a fodder 1-star from the bench bumps your interest for that round from 3 to 4. (if you were winning, the 1 gold from the win would be added before interest calculation)
: TeamFight Tactics - Mid to late game advice
I usually try not to refresh until above 50 economy unless absolutely needed. That 5 interest each turn is so nice... (And then I try to avoid dropping below 50 for more than 1-2 turns until I'm at risk of being eliminated in 3-4 turns.) Also make sure to have a TFT cheatsheet by Scarra or someone else on a 2nd screen/printed out/on a phone (or maybe a site like tftactics.gg) . And try to have a comp that synergises with the items you get from PvE and carousel. (yesterday I completely failed with that when PvE was giving me just swords and my comp was sorcerers...) Play the first few carousels for the item, seeing the champ as just gold attached to it, unless by accident the champ attached to the wanted item fits into your comp. Late game carousel though that 3-5 gold champ might just be completing a comp or resulting in a tier up of a champ and the item might be less important. Something I completely fail at: checking the other players to see if they are blocking one of your tier-ups or you can/have to block one of their tier-ups based on the limited amount of each champion available in the shared pool. (see the cheatsheets) Scarra should have a bunch of nice videos explaining things on his youtube channel.
: Revert 9.14 if you care about the game Riot (Long Post)
If you want a red to read your rant, why not post it on NA boards, reddit or other place reds might actually frequent instead of EUW new player advice?

: You know its very strange to reply about a new hero thats going to be added to TFT's roster just out of the blue like that.. but mke.
Darn, think I was in a rush/it was late and I jumped to conclusions on the title, text etc. (TF(T), fate, (card)draw, sorcerers) -_-;
: FFA incompréhension
If you want answers in french, change in the top-right of the board "EU West (English)" to "EU West (Français)". Based on google translate, not sure if you are talking about tier 1 champions, for which 3 of the same can be combined into a tier 2 and 3 of those into a tier 3 or if you are talking about champions costing 1-5 gold. (odds of each of those different cost showing in the shop change with the in-game levelups)
: been banned for 14 days saying the n word, what do if happens again
It looks like patch 9.14 now introduces a settings option to by default mute allies for those scared of reacting to ally chats in a ban-worthy way...
: Several questions
Assuming the first week newbie bonusses as listed at https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752824#h7 are still in place, shouldn't you have about 7 champions and 6300+ BE after the first week? I always honor someone and a decent amount of the time get honor, resulting in getting 1-2 key fragments per week. (I think S rank chests are limited to 4 per split, aren't they, so that's only 12 key fragments needed for those?)
: I mean, idk about that, never heard of a country in which the n word is banned.
It probably is one of the zero tolerance words that result in auto-bans in LoL. (racial slurs, threatening harm/telling players to harm themselves etc.)
JustClone (EUNE)
: All of it. What changes the gold when killing lane minions?
According to https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Hunter%27s_Machete "V9.1 New Effect: If your gold from minions is greater than half your gold from monsters, lane minion kills will grant 10 less gold. This penalty is removed upon completion of an enchantment on a Skirmisher's Sabre or Stalker's Blade." So I guess if a jungler doesn't lane-tax too hard and jungle farms enough, gold reduction doesn't trigger on un-upgraded jungler item...
