: hey downloading the chipset drivers and doing a clean install wiped my display driver off the system, as it was a newer version. I tried downloading off the Sapphire site but the link you shown was broken, so i have gone back to the AMD site. its the same driver version as i installed already (17.4.3 / 17.10.1711) so i dont think it would matter. I installed the Direct X as per your advice. Rather than me doing the latest drivers from the AMD website i've now gone to the side and previous drivers and am trying 17.2.1. (not installing ReLive as thats for streaming). I am doing an install of that now.. i will let you know if this fixes it.
OK. i have tried and once reinstalling and rebooting the optional drivers on the above it works fine once i reboot. But if i reboot again, it goes back to Unknown Direct X error again. I've no idea what's doing this as i keep installing and re-installing everything but nothing is working? this is obviously a driver or something issue but i can't see what's going on? My latest dxdiag is here: https://pastebin.com/FSDe2nsr

: Okay, have you tried little bit older drivers from [AMD site](http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%2010%20-%2064)? * Go to "Optional Downloads" tab and download version 17.10 **Note: Make sure you uninstall your current drivers completely before you install older drivers.** --- If older drivers does not help, i recommend you to try drivers from Sapphire website: http://www.sapphiretech.com/productdetial.asp?pid=9C9F764B-490D-45EB-B6B6-A40A2AF43984&lang=eng **Note: Before you install these drivers, make sure you uninstall your current drivers.** 1. Go to "Download" tab on Sapphire website: https://i.gyazo.com/2d7bd6f2958f47878f38dcdeb7065a2d.png 2. Select your Operating System: https://i.gyazo.com/42a890bb6d0d22180122752ce24336cb.png 3. I recommend you to try these drivers: https://i.gyazo.com/8db068c54c209149d9aa3cc217cac93c.png --- Sorry for editing, but i'm gonna add this. Try installing DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010), you can download it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=8109 * Download setup and run it * Make DirectX folder to your desktop and extract files to that folder: https://i.gyazo.com/534f6baeb208422cf4a7cb5e0c5e2dc2.png * Once files are extracted, go open DirectX folder on your desktop * Look for file called "DXSETUP.exe" and run it * Follow setup instructions and let it install components * Once setup is complete, you can delete DirectX folder from your desktop * Now try to play League of Legends, does same issue occur? --- Looking forward for you response!

: Hey, Is your RX 460 reference AMD card or is it non-reference? Reference card = Made and sold by AMD Non-reference card = Made and sold by subvendor (XFX, Gigabyte, Sapphire, MSI, Asus etc.)

: Good day, Solent! There are many things that you can do in this situation. One option is to try reinstalling Direct X completely via the Webinstaller that Microsoft offers. This should fix usually fix this error and you should be able to head into the next game! > [Download from Microsoft.com](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35) Another option you can do it reinstalling League. Well, **not completely** reinstall it, but backing up your League of Legends-Folder (Usually under C:\Riot Games\League of Legends) and then downloading the League of Legends-**Installer**. It may then ask you to wether REPAIR the installed game, or uninstall it. First I'd suggest you to try repairing the game. If this doesn't help, **backup the League of Legends-Folder** (so you don't need to completely redownload it) and then uninstall it. After you've done that, just open the League of Legends-Installer again and let it install the client for you. In this process, it will prompt you to install Direct X for you. And you guessed it right, let the Installer install everything for you, including Direct X. After that, copy all the files from your BACKUPED League of Legends-Folder to the new one, that the Installer created for you and you should be good to go again! > [Download League of Legends-Installer](https://signup.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/signup/redownload) I really hope that this will help you getting your game fixed again, SUPPORT {{sticker:slayer-jinx-wink}}

hey i already tried doing a full clean install using your hextech repair tool. Would it be better to just do it fresh off your installer off your website? I've just done the Direct X thing anyway, and still no luck. Does your hextech tool require manual updates or would you advise against using it? ill try doing another clean install to help.
