: Bad experience for New players
I think the problem is mostly that the game has been around for almost 10 years, and the result is that the game has become really competitive since people have discovered everything there is to be discovered in the game. So, people don't let themselves do silly stuff in normals and if you're making obvious mistakes then you're obviously trolling. I'm sure that back in Season 2 or something you could go into a normal game, play crit Amumu or some similar dumb shit and have a jolly ol' time since the game wasn't as competitive and people were just playing to try stuff out and have fun. Add an unforgiving new player experience to a game that has become so competitive, no wonder new players aren't coming in.
: lol there are plenty but most of them are skins and not natural blondes :(
I was only counting champion base skins, since alternate skins aren't meant to portray the canon appearance of the character.
: we need more (female) blondes in this game
I never noticed that there aren't really any blondes in the game. I am now deeply upset.
: TRIUMPH delay
It'd probably be a bit too powerful if it was instant. Keeping that delay makes the rune balanced and gives it counterplay.
: This game has became such a trash, am I not right?
: Friends? I never had any. Never attempted to have any. But I do tell myself that I'm too socially awkward for playing this game and it works.

: Then be a man and tell your girl and your friends the truth. You maybe don't wanna offend anyone or seem harsh. But it's always better to be honest than by doing something you don't wanna do. Why would you play games with them if you don't enjoy it? You are just wasting your own time and also their time. I am sure they can feel that you don't enjoy playing with them. My advice is still, stick to normals and play for fun. But if you can't say no to them asking you for ranked, then well. You can try come up with excuses, but that's not really the good way to handle this. I would do one of these 2 things. 1. You tell them that you don't wanna play ranked with them and you just stick to normal games. 2. You play ranked with them but you use these games to practice something. So you don't feel too frustrated when you lose. gl
Well didn't expect to get helpful insight like this lol thanks man
: I too am in the same situation as you described. Luckily, said players aren't able to play ranked with me due to ELO difference since they are gold/silver and I am diamond in both solo and flex queues. You just have to turn off your "tryhard mode" in normals / ARAM / RGM, and try out funny shit. One time, I was spamming AD LB top, while being premade with my silver friends. We had fun, and that's all that mattered. We lost more than we won, didn't even care. - And we play on a daily basis. You have to understand that not everyone is on the same level, and you need to have lower expectations. Most people play this game casually, they won't invest much time/effort - so the results are prone to be .... as you described. It's not the end of the world. Try educating your lower ELO friends, if they wanna listen - good for them, if they tilt / don't appreciate the advice/positive critique - just let it go. If you can have fun while playing with them, do so, if not, just tell them you're not in the mood right now. After a couple of rejections they'll eventually see what's up and stop bothering you ingame. I love playing with them, 1300 MMR games are super relaxing and fun, even when I play on 30% after a hardcore ranked session in 2200+MMR.
Yeah, trying funny shit in normals is fun with your friends. AP Trynda, Ashe jungle, Nunu ADC, lol I've done those. I guess my question was more so aimed towards when you're playing ranked, since you'd really have to be a sweaty tryhard to care about skill in norms or ARAMS
Rena (EUW)
: I just play with them. Idc if they are bad, we are all not challenger so we are all bad. If they are same elo as you they are just as bad as you, if they are lower they are just more bad. I don't mean to sound selfish but we all make mistakes. So why you even call them bad. I personally play with anyone aslong as they aren't toxic. I am a bad player myself so why should I be botherd by others doing mistakes if i just do as many. About the GIrlfriend part. I play League with my gf too. When we play we just focus on the "fun" and not on the winning/playing the best. (we play normals). So yea I recommend you to do this too.
True, I'm not the best either so I don't mind others' mistakes if it's just a normal. Unfortunately, my girl only wants to play ranked, and it's hard to have fun if you know you're playing with someone who isn't trying their best or isn't on your skill level. And when they're too sensitive to receive any constructive criticism

: has anyone else been bored of playing this game recently
Like others said, just take a break. League is often a game you play on the long run and playing it everyday can be tiring. Taking a break for a few days or even over a week can help.

: How does Azir win against Yasuo?
Let him dive you then ult him under turret. Probably get Inspiration second to get that early stopwatch as well. Position soldiers between minions to harass him when he goes for farm.
: Is this the strongest or the stupidest bm in the game?
Well, you net yourself a loss, so yeah. The best BM will always be the crisp sound of a {{summoner:4}} or {{item:2419}} over the dead body of your opponent.
: As mentioned Jhin is actually very hard to get since he has movement speed buff on every crit and usually is going for boots of swiftness, also jinx gets movement speed buff if she kills a target.. If you ask me, Ashe, Kogmaw and Varus are only truly immobile adc's. They have hard CC, Kogmaw just a slow on his E. But the point is that these immobile champions have hard CC in their kit which cannot be said for mobile adc's and that is a compensation. Also those immobile adc's should be played only with utility supports.
That's true about Jhin, although in the laning phase without crit chance he's still pretty immobile, and W is hard to land. What you say is true about utility supps, guess I shouldn't really pick Ashe along side a Brand or Vel'Koz.

: I have an amazing suggestion you guys might like
Great idea, but like, if you're in a ranked game in the middle of a teamfight or trading in lane, why would you ever stop to reply to a message? Unless you play normals and don't care about losing, nobody really should type to their friends in a ranked game.
: > [...] simply get someone on your team to leave the game and get free advantages. How is that an advantage? The team is missing one out of five players, a reduced death timer sounds just about reasonable to me. There is just about no way of abusing this, if it is implemented correctly (no bugs, etc.)
You appear to underestimate the importance of something such as death timers. It is simply unfair to have a team who would have reduced death timers.
: Tired of AFK losses
> providing the team with 4 players a slight buff like reduced respawn timers etc? Right, so you can simply get someone on your team to leave the game and get free advantages. This would just be abused. > Why is there no system for kicking afk players and replacing with a bot The bots are terrible in this game, what's the point? They would just run it down mid and feed even more gold to the opposing team.
: > [{quoted}](name=StepEdward,realm=EUW,application-id=39gqIYVI,discussion-id=LJBANqTZ,comment-id=0001000000000000,timestamp=2019-04-09T20:09:42.972+0000) > > What he means is that they both have passives that heavily rely on them playing in the jungle. Wouldnt say rely. Kindred can still hunt both botlaners and ivern really likes getting doublebuffs for lanepoke for free.
Of course you can still use them elsewhere but the result is that a piece of their kit remains underutilized. Ivern won't be able to farm camps and Kindred won't get marks from camps.

What he means is that they both have passives that heavily rely on them playing in the jungle.

: Thanks that helps. Just one question. What item would you prioritize first cause after the item changes i'm really not sure
IE then Zeal Item, preferably PD for protection or RFC for range.
God Spoon (EUW)
: Is Jhin worth trying to play in bot lane.
Fleet Footwork is the superior rune, it'll help proc your passive MS which is now harder due to the new SR. Jhin is worth it, definitely, but not as powerful as he was before. You definitely play a lot more for mid and late game now. And of course Jhin struggles against tanks later on so you shouldn't really pick him if the enemy team has more than one, but late game he can just three/four shot squishier champions. So yeah, you can play him but situationally.
Kian987 (EUW)
: Shen (8th attempt in 3 years)
I really like playing Shen and it's nice to see the effort you put into this post. I definitely think he has been nerfed too much, my biggest problem like you said is that Shen counters no one, you literally cannot go into a game expecting to win the matchup. He has little power to trade and little pressure in lane. Here's a thing I disagreed with however: > R should make its target invulnerable during channeling. This will provide a more entertaining outcome for both teams This would make him beyond broken, being able to use a Kayle ult on an ally halfway across the map. What they need to do is simply give his ult a stronger shield, since it's nonexistant.
Haze97 (EUW)
: I mean I do these all the time. I even try to get the herald and dragons despite not being a jungler most of the time. I also split push but come late game and three of you teammates decide to team fight against fed opponents ad die, the game suddenly goes from splitpushing to "let's recall and defend the base till the adc respawns". I can even carry very passive teams at this level where the people sit under the tower, but the KDA hungry mentality of low elo players costs me most of my games and I honestly do not understand how i can carry a match or continue to take objectives late game when I am the only person aiming for them while the rest of my team's more busy dying in risky skirmishes across the map. Eventually you hit a point where you need to decide whether you want to take the side tower you're at or run back and defend the base because three of your teammates are already dead and the opponent's now have a free push.
Yeah, the problem is that this is a team game, if your team is just playing ARAM while you try to get objectives, they're gonna be stuck in a 4v5 situation and they end up losing. It's useless to work towards objectives if your team isn't backing you up on your calls, which is why low elo soloQ freaking sucks.

To be honest, each time I get tilted in this game it's more because of the people than the actual game.
Haze97 (EUW)
: It is next to impossible to carry most low elo teams.
Getting towers, dragons, rift herald, rotating; these are things that win games and that nobody does for lower elos. Unfortunately, all there is is monkeys always playing ARAM after laning phase and chasing kills like dumbasses, or always running into fights they can't win and throwing the game. There is a reason they're at low elo.
Shenpåı (EUW)
: Reworks, Buffs or adjustments on Barely played champions
I don't think a champion should be reworked just because they have a low pick rate. There are lot of unpopular picks in this game that have nothing wrong with their kits. {{champion:421}} {{champion:240}} {{champion:427}} are good examples of this, these champions are fine picks with balanced kits, and simply aren't played because they are weird and different. But of course, there's always a meta and champions who fit inside it are going to be popular. Champions that are meta are often characterized by the fact that they have really good qualities or no glaring weaknesses, which thus makes them safe picks. So why play a balanced champion with strengths and weaknesses when you could just whip out {{champion:127}} and improve your chances of winning.
: Synergies on Botlane
Wouldn't this idea make Esports less dynamic? If your Ashe and Braum example was real, then in proplay Ashe and Braum would always be seen together, in the same way Xayah and Rakan were always seen together. It's much better and more fun to try different things and find those great bot lane synergies like Lucian and Braum without adding mechanics to their kits when they're together.
The S1ash (EUNE)
: Toxic players in pre-game lobby and I am punished by losing LP
It's a bit of a hard thing to balance, because while people should have the right to dodge sketchy champ selects, if we were given free unlimited dodges, lots of people would abuse it. As soon as they would see a champion they didn't like being picked on their team, or if they just didn't feel like playing against a certain champ, they could just dodge with no problem. There really isn't a perfect solution for the problem, I'm afraid.
: Do you play the game with the usernames shown or not?
Off, I prefer to have less screen clutter in the game and usernames aren't necessary to play the game.
: ARURF is trash. Change my mind
Might be just me, but pretty much every RGM Riot comes up with feels like trash after a few games. These game modes often are very snowbally, making for really bad experience if the RNG gods don't favor you.
Cryptidian (EUNE)
: Which champion makes you feel happy when you play it no matter if you win or lose? ^.^
{{champion:268}} His mechanics just make him a blast to play all the time, I love using his long-ranged poke and crazy mobility. And if I get to pull a Shurima shuffle in a losing game, well it's worth in my eyes.
Voidner (EUNE)
: I mean.. why would it take much time and effort just to update some items icons?
I mean it's mostly because I don't see the need to, all SR items look fairly good now.
Voidner (EUNE)
: Can we get new icons for older items?
The item icons all look fairly decent right now, I don't see why this would be worth the time and effort.
Hansiman (EUW)
: In all my personal experience: Voice chat in games between friends have been a positive experience. Voice chat with strangers, has not.
Right, thanks for the contribution to the topic!
Hansiman (EUW)
: Those are personal opinions. "Easier and faster" is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I'd probably find it faster to write out messages to convey what I want, since ingame we use a lot of a acronyms that don't really make sense if we state them in voice. "Enjoyable and overall better" does not really match my personal experience with voice chats in other games. It's been a far more toxic experience than a text based chat, so I tend to turn them off. Why on earth do I want to listen to the voice of angry people? It's much easier to ignore their text.
Well I didn't want people arguing over this lol. So, Hansiman, I'm guessing you're pretty much against the idea? Something I'd like to point out, is that I don't think saying that "we've survived for 9 years with this or that" is an argument that should be used, League is meant to be always changing and the past is the past. I do agree what you're saying but you must understand, I'm not saying voice chat would be a complete solution to toxicity and flaming, I'm saying it would be a tool for those you want to play better as a team. I'm not saying it's going to change the people playing the game, but again, if you wouldn't like it, you could mute people or opt out of voice comms. Now I have two questions for you if you will: first, haven't you felt while playing other competitive games that having the option to speak to other people allows the team to play better? I've played Rainbow Six Siege which has team voice, and it makes such a difference to be able to say "Doc heal me" or "2 guys 1F stairs". Second, how do you feel that typing is always a reliable solution? When you type you lose control of your character, so it's risky to type if you know that a Rengar might pounce on you or something, and I don't see how it's a better or more reliable way of communicating.
Zanador (EUNE)
: Personally i have a couple of main concerns about a voice chat that are yet to be addressed in this conversation. Sexism towards women was mentioned, so let's skip that. 1. Racism. Especially on the EU servers. People here have very distinct national accents. 2. Complete lack of moderation. To the best of my knowledge, there isn't any game where voice chat is successfully moderated. 3. Balance. You know how you are told to just mute the toxic people you get in your team? That is going to be "opt out from voice chat" or "mute the voice of toxic people" now. Anyone who have played against a full premade with voice chat as a team of 5 solo players know how much of an advantage the voice chat can be. Now if you have a toxic teammate, your chances of winning will drop even more sharply. 4. New methods of trolling. Someone screaming into your ears while you want to concentrate would be pretty damn annoying and it would require a brand new set of tools to have a chance at catching the troll. 5. Languages. The written chat can already be flooded by two or three guys talking to each other in their native language, but the effect is far worse with sound. I really enjoy the voice chat with my friends, and we have used a program for that ever since we began playing League. But without a solution to these problems, i think a general voice chat option would cause way more harm than good.
I understand the concerns, personally I also play in EU and from my experience most people I've played in ranked with know how to speak basic english, enough to be understood at least. The moderation and trolls could indeed be a problem, but again muting those could solve the problem in the short term, but I agree that you can't keep voice logs and punish people if they misuse the communication system.
Mr Stabby (EUW)
: I don't want it to be necessary for me to open my mic/speakers and hear stupid screaming children to gain an advantage in communication. All in all, I would really rather not hear the people who I see type in this game speak.
Of course, everybody should have the option to use it or not.
Shamose (EUW)
: You can set your voice chat to not auto join team chat. So you load into game voice chat off and you get a message like "x amount of players in voice channel". After that you can at any point decide to join the voice comms and leave again if you want. OW voice chat is like 95% people flaming you and harrasing you into switching heroes and 5% actual strat talk. So having the option to start out a game quietly and without having to fiddle with chat first is a blessing.
> [{quoted}](name=Shamose,realm=EUW,application-id=NzaqEm3e,discussion-id=rvjvh3sk,comment-id=000000000000,timestamp=2018-12-27T23:16:43.208+0000) > > You can set your voice chat to not auto join team chat. > So you load into game voice chat off and you get a message like "x amount of players in voice channel". > > After that you can at any point decide to join the voice comms and leave again if you want. > > OW voice chat is like 95% people flaming you and harrasing you into switching heroes and 5% actual strat talk. : Irelia, wtf is even going on with that
Her Q is the real problem, tbh. Nerf or remove the heal, and make it so that she can't reset it as often, and she'll be a much fairer champion, still strong and capable of outplays if played well, but not the bullshit machine she is right now.

: Let's talk turrets!
I like the idea of each plate giving the turret a different effect but I don't appreciate the execution of this idea, because it seems like it would make the game a more frustrating experience. I think players still should be encouraged to take plates, not punished for not taking them. I think this idea would be better implemented if when a plate is taken down, the enemy still gets gold but one of those effects you mentioned is added to the tower. So, for example, the enemies take down a plate, receive gold, but now the tower has increased attack speed, and so on and so forth. This would still reward players for playing well, but make taking the tower or diving it harder.

: Riot do not remove toxic players.
Nobody really gets banned in this game, to be honest, so don't plan on ever counting on the ban system. I can't count the amount of hard inters have gone unbanned in my games, and can't the last time I got that little message telling me someone I reported got banned.
