: sure, i agree with changing the roll support to play maker, sure, why not, but in all honesty? it wont change the issue yes perception is the issue, lcs, who do we talk about the most? mid laners and adcs, faker, bjerg, wildturtle, its because people think those are the 'best' or 'most impressive' players on a team, they get the most attention, they are the most showy in short, the only way to make 'support' more popular is to give it more facetime in lcs, have the 'famous' players and streamers push it, make people realize how important this roll is, who wins the team fights with there lockdown and control, its the player base who makes a roll popular or not, not riot

If there was a renaming of the role it would be down to the casters to help by highlighting support moves. Also, even if the LCS casters gave loads of screentime to supports the word "Support" is still a weak word and needs replacing. I think we can confidently say that people would think "Oh, it's the Support week" and switch off the stream.

You poke, and poke, force the enemy lane to back, then go mid and kill the enemy midlaner. That is a playstyle that people use right now, but most people don't realise it because of how they see the role. you cannot teach them to see the role in a better eye, as long as the whole playerbase has such a skewed idea of what supporting is ... even the name of the role itself sounds boring and beneath the value of all other roles ... compare the idea of "juggernaut" with the idea of "support" ... one sounds cool, the other sounds lame, though in truth the "support" can be and is indeed MORE IMPORTANT than the juggernaut ... people are just silly like that ... so your idea of calling the support **"PLAYMAKER"** is the first step that needs to be done, even if no other change is in fact done in the role ... a petty small change is exactly what the petty small minds that snubb the support role need, so, for them, an exciting name, makes for an exciting role ...

Thanks for the... agreement? I think? o.O
: Look I like your arguement but there is absolutely no way to make support popuplar in this game or any game for that matter, even in overwatch which has riddiculously op fun supports doesnt get it right, its just simply people worry about getting kills rather then GIT GUD, and thats the truth and when it is revealed they suck at dealing damage they rage and complain the game is unfair and never play again, so the only way I could possibly say to make the support role more popular is to make it that the support characters are not playmakers or people who help their team, rather improve their solo performance to the degree of a damage dealer while making their play making potential essential to helping others but even then it wont be as good so unless supports deal the damage the brain dead players arent gonna look at them

There are already people who play Tanks in top lane, Poke Mages in Mid or play Support right now. We just need to make it clear that they can play an almost-identical role, while being able to ignore CS, in another lane. You can play champions like Zyra as pure damage dealers. You poke, and poke, force the enemy lane to back, then go mid and kill the enemy midlaner. That is a playstyle that people use right now, but most people don't realise it because of how they see the role.

: Suggestion for improving the Support role's popularity

Disclaimers belong at the TOP not at the bottom > 2. Support meaning that you are your teams bitch is your subjective ridiculous view, it reflects more on how you see support than how it actually is > > Support is not in need of fixing, it is in need of more champs. > Less people playing support isn't a n issue 1. Renamed the disclaimer part to "Afterthoughts", as that's what it actually was. 2. Support meaning you are your teams bitch is a view I have seen across 2 years of playing the role, regardless of champion chosen, both in game and out of it on a variety of different forums (including reddit, but not only reddit). The entire perception of the role, from what I have seen, is as I described it: you are there to look after your carry in lane then look after your team. This is not a role that the majority of players want to play, regardless of whether that _is_ the only thing the role is for or not. Lack of players is an issue because it leads to people being forced into the role, which they have a negative perception of, which leads to them feeling negative about the role and negative about the game. To fix the lack of players playing the role by choice we can either change the role (or the perception of the role) or we can get more people who like to play as the support role is (in my opinion) perceived. I think the former would be better. > [{quoted}](name=Tarolock,realm=EUW,application-id=39gqIYVI,discussion-id=VwVw5lj6,comment-id=0001,timestamp=2016-12-04T13:37:28.378+0000) > > you are perfectly describing the problem (even tho i didnt read a single thing from that wall of text), you want to rename a role that supports the team, whats the problem calling a support champion support? the thing you sit on is a chair, you dont call it shoe just because shoe is different and more fun > > the main problem with supporting is the perception, the ppl who hate supports have the wrong idea about the meaning of support and riot cant fix stupid The problem is the word "support", when looking after your carry isn't always the only thing you can do. You can call a chair a chair, or you can call it a seat, or even an ergonomic seat. It's still a seat, but phrasing is important in how people see the role. I don't believe we're going to get more people interested and/or playing the role while it's still called "chair". Riot can fix "stupid" by making it more clear that the support role is about more than just babysitting, but I don't think they can get most people to take anything other than babysitting as a legitimate part of the role unless they change the name and put more effort into making it clear.

: euw lag or ddos?
Just lost 4 people on my team at the same time. Enemy team only lost their adc. Better get 'loss prevented' Riot. Your servers have fallen over again.

: It doesn't work like this, you can't see messages from blocked players and that's it.
Okay, I misunderstood the entire point of a blocked list then. How do I prevent ever being queued with a specific player? What list do I need to add them to? If this isn't possible, why hasn't it been implemented?
