I wrote that players tend to like assassins more because, obviously, they want to do damage, make (if they can) flashy things and get kills. It is true regardless of the meta. Also, i'm not the kind of player who talks s@@t about his mains because he thinks they don't stand a chance. If i like some champs, i play them, regardless of the meta. I don't ask for buffs or reworks cause "since i main it, i know it's trash". For me is actually the other way around: "i main it, so i know it's not trash". If many other "mains" use to reason like you, it's because they feel "defeated" by the meta and they don't trust themselves enough to play what they want and like. I don't know why those players really have to make such a fuss about their champs being "unplayable" for this and that reason (when they really are not), i only know that i don't have this problem.
Not saying he's unplayable or even bad (i've never really said that), again, I'm just saying his old kit is cooler and more unique for the game aswell as having in my opinion a better chance at being more relevent then current Xerath. Ain't talkin poop about current Xerath here either for the most part, just think he's more boring is all. I don't feel defeated either, I play every champ in the game cause it's more fun to me, Rarely use the most common things tho. Also fair enough i misinterpreted you're comment for hating the current status quo. My bad. But if thats really how you've taken my request I don't know what to tell ya tbh.

I never see him picked willingly unless its a meme pick inspired by "imaqtpie" playing it on stream. Old Xerath was under appreciated imo. Let's start by saying that, as you should know, you usually won't see anything played at all but what passes for OP for whatever reason. And even when it's not something strictly picked or ban in pro play, the medium player would still rather play an assassin with 10000 dashes than an immobile mage. That being said...yes, i see {{champion:101}} (or {{champion:161}}, or {{champion:112}}, or {{champion:50}}, for what matters, all not really popular champs to begin with) being played way more often than back in the days, and sometimes even as support. I personally don't like it (a VGU may have helped) but i'm quite sure that if it was really good enough for you to appreciate its kit more (and to see more play), it would probably be nerfed shortly thereafter. So maybe its better to keep it as it is and not attract unwanted attentions.
You can't tell me you hate the current state of League of mobility and in the same string say that you'd rather not change anything and keep things the way they are because you dont want unwanted attention drawn to it. I'd still rather Riot at least try and make some changes that doesnt involve giving champions 3 dashes, But instead giving long range champs the option of preventing them getting to the unmanagable state they are currently. 1. Swain sees play a lot because hes effectively a tanky toplane mage that can abuse aftershock 2. Velkoz sees play mainly in support for his ability to poke and true damage he provides, but he's still very low tier in the sense of other supports 3. Viktor is another mage that was an abusive top laner with a spamable sheild and movespeed buff, but mid he's such a lack luster champion Xerath is the unique one there. Not as good a support as Vel, Not able to handle mid lane, Could never even begin to think of top laning on him. However, you grant him his self root range increase and old Ult back and he suddenly becomes like a better Morgana, Least from a mid lane tower defender point of view. I get he wouldn't suit the current meta, But neither does like 70 other champs atm, However his Old kit still would hold up better then current kit and you've not really given me any reason to think otherwise. I wish you the best but I don't think we're gunna see eye to eye here

Both struggle in current day league, But old Xerath is cooler and more Unique I'll tell you that, i started to play in late S3, and {{champion:101}} was one of the champs i never saw being played NOT EVEN ONCE until it was reworked (the other were {{champion:154}} {{champion:14}} {{champion:57}} {{champion:3}} and some other), This should be nuff said about how "good" or appreciated old {{champion:101}} was.
And do you ever see Xerath now either? I never see him picked willingly unless its a meme pick inspired by "imaqtpie" playing it on stream. Old Xerath was under appreciated imo. : I smell the stench of old fart stucked in the past.
Call me what you want, But you cant say a reason why new Xerath is better then the old one. Both struggle in current day league, But old Xerath is cooler and more Unique
: While I did enjoy old Xerath quite a bit (was one of the first mages I played along with Karthus and Ziggs), I don't think he'd work all that well nowadays. With all the mobility in the game and his range being pretty mediocre unless rooted down, he'd get completely mullered in all but a few mid matchups. Also, Riot has for the most part moved away from free stats, so he'd probably end up a lot weaker than he was even then.
But would you prefer a mixed version of the current and old xerath? For example, Old Xerath's self root and ult, and make his base Q slightly longer range while not rooted, would only be a tiny bit just to put him a bit more in line with most other mids, Also i'd argue the free stats point, but thats because i hate aftershock mages. Xeraths passive could be re-worked into a healthier version of its current state rather then the armor stat from AP if riot would prefer. I mainly just want his main unique parts back, being his ult and self root.

: I would like to say yes, but its hard to say yes knowing that players will mostly disable them and as such make them worthless, I mean what's the point of a pet that no one else will see ? Its like hacking in a skin but only you can see that skin, you buys skins to show off to others not just for you and you buy pets to show them off to others, so if others cant see the pet... its worthless. I get the whole clutter argument, and I agree, but taken into consideration, would it benefit Riots playerbase and the bottom line to remove them via toggle. I know I would toggle them off in a instant, thus I think it would ruin that line of merch.
I think thats a solid side to consider, but i personally think it wouldn't de-value it much, considering if you buy a skin for a champ, do you buy it so you can show it off to others? Or because you like the way it looks and wish to enjoy it yourself? I'd apply the same argument to pets, you shouldn't be buying things just to show off. However, How about an edit to the question, How about a toggle to make the TFT pets sit in spawn at the back? Wouldn't that please both sides?

Doom emissary is right, You can only disable your pet, Not other players.

: What are Riot trying to accomplish with Mordekaiser and how can they do it?
A good idea, just a few holes here and there which i'd find hard to word without sounding like a fool, like the whole Olaf Paradox would be strong here, Either can't be killed under 50% life unless someone like {{champion:122}} 5 stacks him and dunks or too weak to actually make use of it without costing Flash or something to bail out to come in later
