: I'll try to rephrase my message to you. This issue is caused by your ISP, while Riot is directly affected it is but a symptom and not the cause. What Riot can do is: Make a public statement, but they're going to say the exact same thing I did, try a VPN or contact your ISP. The reason they want you to contact your ISP, is to show your ISP that it is a pain point for their users, this will give NOS an incentive to peer up with Riot Direct which is one way to solve your problem. In any case the issue lies with your ISP, so going here on the boards and complaining about Riot for something they're not responsible for isn't going to help your cause.

Exactly, because theres no communication from Riot at this point apart from you, but as u said ur not a rioter, you dont know all the answers we are looking for. And with what u said earlier all i can do is assume they havnt yet. You wouldnt need us to contact our ISP to make them aware of the problem and beg them to use Riot Direct if Riot had contacted and talked to them about it already.

: I'm saying Riot contacted them at least a few years ago, I don't know the amount of times they've contacted them since then, or when they last contacted them, I am a volunteer, not a Rioter. I can explain how stuff work, why they work, technical issues, tell you what you can do and so on, but I do not have access to any of the interesting tools or data that can make your problem magically disappear. Because this issue is at a corporate level, what I can do is ask you as a consumer to contact your ISP and let them know that you're experiencing issues playing League. What they decide to do is up to them, but it would make it all a hell of a lot easier if they could peer with Riot Direct and thereby save the users from a lot of grief.

I understand that everything would be alot easier with Riot Direct, even more reason for riot to contact NOS and talk in our name of whats happening since 4 days. But for some reason it seems very hard to get a Rioter in here in charge of such things or any rioter at all.

: Unless you reply to my posts, I will not get a notification. The dilemma here is that Riot have already contacted NOS, not sure about the exact details, but I'm guessing it was a few years ago they approached them the firs time before they brought their Riot Direct online. From a business perspective and legal perspective I'm sure there are a ton of reasons why an ISP isn't peering up with Riot Direct. If we take Egypt as an example, then their ISP have literally said > We don't support gaming And as such it is now almost impossible to play League from Egypt. Although this is a pretty extreme example the point remains the same. I don't know if NOS have similar obstacles, or if it is human bias, but it is up to their users to convince them of the value of this, because they as paying users have a say, where as Riot Direct is an outside company asking them to redirect traffic.

So Riot contacted NOS years ago and cant contact again about this issue affecting the biggest ISP in Portugal right now? You guys want to force clients that arent suited to talk about this to try and persuade them to join Riot Direct. Meanwhile alot of people dont even know why this is happening with topics poping up in here and will never know why or what they can do because all we can do is beg our ISP to join Riot Direct which could be alot simplier if riot talked in name of everyone beeing affected. Besides this isnt just happening with NOS, theres other ISP and other countries affected since friday. 11 Months ago you guys wrote this: "With Riot Direct now switched on, plans are already in motion to make it even better. We’re already looking at adding additional points of presence in Portugal (Lisbon or Porto), Italy (Rome), Greece (Athens) and potentially in Poland as well. We’re continuing to pursue new peering relationships with ISPs so their League data can travel via our super-duper-mega-highway." from http://euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/riot-games/editorial/ping-pwn-waging-war-lag-eu-players

: Can confirm the issue. I did all the possible tests, contacted my internet provider, everything seems to be in order. I even disabled wireless (sorry neighbour I know I let you use it for work and stuff but needed to check) ping keeps going from 55 to 150. I did the ping test on google, it shows that my ping is decent, however I am not sure how exactly it works as it shows 15 lines of ping going from 11 to 28 then 3 lines of 169 to 260 then another 15 of small ordinary ping. I assume it sends signal to different servers so ping varies? My ISP said everything is in working order. To make everything even more fun, I have enabled Port QoS (Quality of Service settings) on my router and connected my PC via ethernet cable. I spent a lot on a very long cable and for past 3 months I honestly had no issues. In example my dad was able to download movies in full speed (almost) and I could play with sub 60 ping, because I guaranteed myself portion of bandwith via QoS settings. However ever since the newest patch I've been having these ping issues even tho speed tests also shows my internet is fine. I am really baffled by this, as I don't think my ISP would lie to me, especially since I had an argument with them and almost sued them, after which they finally did resolve some issues (baboons forgot to update certain settings lol). If I hadn't wasted the money on cable and new router I'd be fine, but this way it feels like someone pissed on my investment :(

I understood perfectly thanks. But why does it have to be the clients advertising Riot Direct to our ISP when its Riot thats going to lose thousands of clients? Wouldnt they listen to you better about this situation? Unless Riot already contacted NOS about this and they didnt agree to it. Or im missing something.

: #Alright guys, I have an update. NOS is not peered with Riot Direct, and it appears they have some issues during peak hours. Unfortunately this issue is related entirely to NOS, so there's not much Riot can do to mitigate these issues. I suggest that you **use a VPN to redirect traffic**, but this is a patchwork solution and not a proper solution I'm afraid, as it causes some other issues such as increased latency and higher risk for package loss. If you want a more permanent solution to this, I advice you to **contact your ISP and ask them to peer with Riot Direct** in order to redirect your traffic and increase your experience. The more people who contact NOS will increase the awareness of this issue and help you resolve it faster.
> [{quoted}](name=Declined,realm=EUNE,application-id=eZuvYsEr,discussion-id=icgU2ZOa,comment-id=0018,timestamp=2016-11-22T14:34:47.589+0000) > > #Alright guys, I have an update. > > NOS is not peered with Riot Direct, and it appears they have some issues during peak hours. > Unfortunately this issue is related entirely to NOS, so there's not much Riot can do to mitigate these issues. > > I suggest that you a VPN to redirect traffic, but this is a patchwork solution and not a proper solution I'm afraid as it causes some other issues such as increased latency and higher risk for package loss. > > If you want a more permanent solution to this, I advice you to **contact your ISP and ask them to peer with Riot Direct** in order to redirect your traffic and increase your experience. > > The more people who contact NOS will increase the awareness of this issue and help you resolve it faster. I dont understand this. Isnt riot the one supposed to talk with the ISP if something is wrong and try to fix it? Isnt riot the ones going to lose thousands of players like this? Why are we beeing forced to pressure our ISP about it when we are the clients in the game. This only started last saturday, its not like it has been like this forever. Ive been playing this game since season 1 and this never happaned before, no issues with latency OUTSIDE from this game, be it peak hours or not. Right now the ping is 150, but everything else is perfect OUTSIDE of league, i dont know how many times this has to be said. The PING was never this high without riot direct before, so saying that its entirely to NOS cant be true. The ping never changed like this in 6 to 7 years, be it with riot direct or not. NOTE: Some people already said the ping they get in NA is lower than in EUW, how is that possible if it was just cus of NOS? Nevertheless thanks for the update.

That includes myself (From Serbia). I have noticed that going back to legacy client did indeed fix it somewhat (Spikes are far less frequent but still there). Unfortunately we have limited scope in what we can do - even with Riot Direct. Not all ISP's peer with us, I can't speak for Serbia as I'm not 100% familiar with it but, for example, the Portugal/NOS issue we're looking into, but as the issue happens primarily during peak hours it seems more like congestion outside our network - which we can't control. This particular issue is stopping almost all players from one of Poland's largest ISP's getting connected - and as we peer directly with them there's some things we can do from our end to try to get things back online. The client uses the same connectivity so not sure why it would lag on one but not the other, however if you're confident that things are worse with the updated client - please be sure to submit a bug report regarding it.

Can you provide me with a tracer pretty please? * Press the [Windows Key] (that is the key on the left side of the space bar, between ctrl and alt) + R * Type cmd in the search bar and click "Ok". You should now see a black window with white letters * Highlight and copy the following commands one by one: > (tracert prod.eun1.lol.riotgames.com) > "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\TracertEUN.txt\" and > (tracert prod.euw1.lol.riotgames.com) > "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\TracertEUW.txt\" * Paste this into the cmd window (black box with white letters) by right clicking and selecting "Paste". Do not use the Ctrl+V shortcut as it will not work! * Depending on your connection, the trace may take 5-15 minutes to complete. A text file with the Tracert log will be created on your Desktop when it finishes * Open it using notepad or a similar program * Select everything (ctrl + A) and copy it * Go to [pastebin.com](http://pastebin.com/) and paste the content there * Set the expiration date to 1 week * Submit it * Share the link with us
